And just to add up…even if you do not eat anymore toxins your liver and kidneys arent working, literally, and the toxins that are all ready in the system will be. Circulating endlessly and wherever it sits down . (Organs, joints, bones yoou name it) cortisol will be raised still…so its still stressed , and still attacking itself…this is an autto immune reaction . And will not stoo without proper help .
Why should i. Merck stated on the side effects sheet that 2% of men would experience ed on finasteride. Ask them.
Hahahhahhahhahhahahahhhaha OH SNAP
Surgery is done…im home all ready . The doctor said hes never seen such big varicoceles veins…and that probably got a lot worse after the fin…( Hes totally anti fin ) so lets wait and see what happens…starting ortomolecular treatment soon : D
The more I read about it, the more I’m afraid science, through the studies results will sentence us to an irreversible condition. That’s often the way science works. Still, for any given illness for which doctors sentenced the patients to incurable condition, there are many unexplained recoveries using natural paths, and so defying science. But then science says such recoveries are impossible, so the recovered people obviously weren’t ill in the first place. That’s the way science reasons.
Granted, the recoveries reports here are very, very, very few. But still, they were many ones. It’s too bad They are clearly dismissed or willingly forgotten by the “mutant PFS theory” followers. The fact they aren’t explained doesn’t deny the fact they occurred, and the fact the people were ill in the first place.
Nobody told me Socrates was a member of the forum!!!
To be compared to socrates ? Not bad…since he was one of the biggest thinkers in history …differently from you, not smarter then…dumbo ?

sorry it was late and i was bitter…ahhaha blame it on the anestesia
This is a very good question to put in such a thread. Surely there is no way that a single dose of finasteride suddenly caused Lincoln ‘leaky gut’ or ‘candida’ overgrowth. The guys who only took a few pills of finasteride and got PFS provide strong evidence to put theories like this to bed in my opinion. I don’t wish to argue about this, i barely care anymore. I’m just saying.
you were probably very bad already…first time dht levels dropped…boom it happened for you!
i think the biggest problem we are looking at is that we still DON’T KNOW what the cause is. like bluecloud’s last post, how could someone get a numb penis or leaky gut from a few doses of finasteride. if anything, the route of curing candida and leaky gut probably has other unknown mechanisms that is helping our problem. i all ready said i got a yeast test and it came back negative and some others did as well. so i’m thinking it’s probably not candida or it could be a false negative or unsatisifactory test as horndog said.
did anybody actually test positive for candida or leaky gut? i know someone i talk to off the forum told me he tested negative for leaky gut and positive for yeast. i never got leaky gut, but i tested negative for yeast.
i tested high for inflammation though, so that obviously shows some kind of immune system problem i have going on. the candida/leaky gut diet is HIGHLY ANTI INFLAMMATORY which would explain why it helps so much. there’s MANY ways to explain his treatment besides leaky gut/candida.
Mew states
Incorrect. Sadly, as administrator, Mew’s words carry a lot of weight. He is very wrong on this issue. In my own personal experience, diet has a very significant role to play in the recovery from finasteride induced side effects. It is important to
- eliminate foods one is allergic to (therefore allowing less stress on adrenal glands, cortisol cycling and less conversion to reverse T3),
- ideally eat organic veegtables to ensure an optimum supply of vital minerals depleted by the use of pesticides and fertilisers (notably magnesium) and reduce the ingestion of heavy metals (cadmium etc)
- Eat the right foods at the right time of day
- try and ensure a 80:20 ratio of alkali:acid food, as this is what the human body is designed for.
I would go as far as to say one could possibly achieve a full recovery by nutrition and lifestyle choices alone, although with the design of modern existence, this would take years, and is impractical, and thus unachievable.
To also state ‘science will lead way’ is wrong. I bet my bottom dollar the researchers will find NO cure in a laboratory or in a high quality research based study.
The only way to treat the side effects induced by finasteride is
- to understand the human body and it’s interaction with it’s environment
- use a holistic model of care, addressing physical, emotional, psychiatric and environmental causes which perpetuate the current illness state
- treat the causes identified above
I have made massive steps using the above model of care, and am edging closer to a full recovery every week. Also check out the contributions made by cdnuts who made himself better with nutrition alone.
The only question left in my mind is when Mew’s authoritarian arrogance and narrow minded approach will cave in. How amusing!

Just to clear some things up:
Having a leaky gut doesn’t necessarily mean you have candida. Having candida doesn’t necessarily mean you have leaky gut. Although the conditions of each could lead to the other. Also, I don’t think that anyone has asserted, necessarily that fin use ----> leaky gut. Although as a steroid-type drug, it could have a strong effect on intestinal health.
Also, the concept of intestinal permeability is not a binary on/off, yes/no one. There are degrees of permeability, and foods (including grains), stress, NSAIDs, etc. can contribute to permeability. Which can be a fleeting occurrence, or a chronic one.
It has been speculated that perhaps permeability lead to a novel focal infection in DHT-deprived tissues like the prostate, pudendal nerve. (So to be clear, in this model, fin didn’t necessarily cause leaky gut, fin did what everyone agrees fin did: fucked up areas that were supposed to have normal DHT). But it has also been supposed that gut inflammation in and of itself (instigated by impaired hormones/immune deficiency) could be the source of systemic inflammation and therefore further hormonal dysregulation/malfunction OR physical inflammation in nearby organs–again, organs weakened by androgen deprivation. These are all guesses. The point is, nobody’s saying that finasteride caused some kind of overnight leaky gut issue. Don’t believe IHPs story or angle if you don’t want to, but please don’t falsely define the concept.
What we’re talking about here, in the broadest of terms, is a cascade of events, all triggered by the manipulation of one hormone which has profound impact on many, many other hormonal pathways, and consequently many immune system implications. So the context and foundation is lower overall immunity. What could lowering your overall immunity have done to YOU in YOUR existing state of health (whether your perception is/was that you were perfectly healthy in obvious terms).
So could one person be “more on the verge” of breakdown than another person (by already being undiagnosed hypothyroid, or borderline hypothyroid or nutrient deficient, iodine deficient, harboring an inflamed gut, having dysbiosis, consuming allergenic foods, having low vitamin D, battling an illness, just coming off a round of antibiotics, dealing with a major surge of stress, not sleeping well, or all of the above, etc.) and thus be affected in a different timeline? Could your “video game life level” prior to taking finasteride be the predictor of whether you fall after one dose, 12 doses, or tolerate the drug for many years? Why the hell not could this be a modulator of who falls ill, and how quickly? It’s a different way of looking at it, for sure.
Nobody knows what’s been going on in the body during one’s lifetime, and exactly what’s happening in any given individual’s body as they react to a strong pharmaceutical like finasteride or accutane or whatever. So we’re discussing a loose concept of immune / infection / inflammation that IHP’s experience and others’ anecdotal experiences implicate. Intestinal inflammation / infection may or may not make sense in your case. But it clearly had relevance to IHPs story. And it appears to resonate with at least a subset of PSFers on this forum.
To those who rightly ask “How can a fungus or bacterium cause my genitals to shut down?” — I don’t know. I don’t know if it did. I don’t know if it was a singular thing that did you or me in. But don’t underestimate pathogens. Look up what pathogens can do–they can paralyze people, kill them. Pretty damn quickly.
One example: Campylobacter (food borne pathogen) is implicated in Guillain-Barré Syndrome, an auto-immune condition in which your body attacks your CNS and results in paralysis. Notice that lowered immunity sets the stage for susceptibility to infection.

So, if IHP’s story has you thinking at all, ask yourself: “What could the presumption of finasteride lowering my immune system function done in ME?” Perhaps think of it as a perfect storm, with finasteride being the major, major overwhelming player.
clap clap…its all about the immune system. your immune system can save you…and it can KILL you too. if its been used to in the wrong way. xhorndog where do u get such good information from??? you almost sound like my doctor ahahah congrts
Erm… …
Well thats what this guy ‘IHP’ has posted; he used nystatin and recovered sexual sides. That what this thread is about. Whats the point in making posts without linking it in any way to the subject of the thread? If you are unable to support a link with what ‘IHP’ has posted, either no link exists or you should post elsewhere.
Who gives a crap what a layperson thinks? It is only possible to support what you are saying with medical studies, medical text books etc. If you cannot support what you are saying its quite possible the human body does not work that way. No effective diagnosis or treatment will ever materialize for some random internet post.
That’s where you come in, Oscar. Us creative, verbose types will spew out wild imaginative possibilities, and folks like you can bury themselves in medical textbooks and explain how it can or cannot be so.

Surgery is done…im home all ready . The doctor said hes never seen such big varicoceles veins…and that probably got a lot worse after the fin…( Hes totally anti fin ) so lets wait and see what happens…starting ortomolecular treatment soon : D
putting aside all your theories, some of which I don’t agree with, you are really doing a lot of practicle work which will really benefit many here.
guys I am sorry to draw your attention away from the current discussion for a moment.
what you guys have to say about backfromhell’s blood profile. It looks like his profile imporved after 3 months on Andractim. instead of suppressing his LH, FHS and total T ,it helped improved them.
