Testosterone, dihydrotestosterone or 5ar2 antibodies.

I welcome any real discoveries about my condition, good or bad.

I thought he sounded very confident so I thought i would share. I have sought some clarification about what he meant.

But Im not holding my breath and I will continue to persue the ideas discussed in this thread.

Yes if others could confirm an experiance simlar to this, it would be handy.

It was an amazing day for me and it come after 3 terrible nights sleep, the worst by far since my intial crash. By the afternoon my brain fog was reduced also.
Unfortunantly i had a good night sleep last night and im now back on my rocket to mars.

:bulb: I may never sleep again.

Perhaps the parasites got tired also, cough, cough

I battled insomnia for two years post crash and it made me feel like death.

I only really got hold of my sleep within the last few months and can consistently get 8 hours now.

I had a wisdom tooth extracted recently and the pain and swelling disrupted my sleep badly. For a couple of days the old feelings of complete fatigue returned. Thankfully it was just a blip.

I remember once not sleeping and getting spontaneous erections, it was just my dick trying to stay alive in the absence of ncturnal ones which I usually get.

Getting my sleep back has been the main positive symptom improvement for me.

Anything in particular get you back on track, Luckfax?

Short term bad sleep def makes me feel great as well and actually helps my penile and sexual state. There was a thread a while ago discussing this and many people noticed it.

It could be immunity or it could be cortisol or it could be raised norepinephrine or it could be a host of other things…

However, long term great sleep 10pm-6am makes me feel amazing even tho it doesnt help my sexual state…i plan on continueing with my healthy sleep

9-6 Is even better. I did notice more spontaneous erections when I was sleep deprived… However sexual function as a whole was much worse, and I didnt feel on top of the world lets just say…

I think taking a week’s holiday in the sun helped a lot actually. Before that I was relying on Seroquel, which will knock you out but at the cost of lsoing half the day and feeling like a zombie for a while on waking (like 2 hours). On holiday I switched to the milder Phernegan, which previously didn’t help much, and it worked well. Seemed to work better as I’d been out in the roasting sun all day and drinking a bit. Then I stopped everything when I got home and since then it’s been fine.

On balance though, I’d recommend trying to get it back naturally rather than using pharma drugs. I mean taking Seroquel initially gave me a much deeper, longer sleep but I put on a LOT of weight and it ended up taking me a long time to actually get to sleep.

An example of the immune system creating an antibody against a hormone (growth hormone, introduced and made in the body)

Abstract
Human growth hormone (hGH) is normally produced by acidophilic cells of the anterior lobe of the pituitary gland. Recombinant DNA technology has made it possible to produce rhGH. There have been reports of immunological reactions in patients treated with rhGH. For this reason, it is necessary to check sera of patients for presence of antibody against rhGH. Forty-seven children were treated for up to 6 months with recombinant human growth hormone (rhGH-Novo), 0.1 IU/Kg body weight, subcutaneously, three times weekly. The magnitude of growth response was similar to those expected from clinical experience with pituitary growth hormone. We examined sera for specific antibodies against rhGH by ELISA methods. Four patients developed serum antibodies against growth hormone. The analysis of these four sera by Dot blotting method also showed presence of antibodies against rhGH. In the sera of treated patients, pre-incubated with different concentration of rhGH, specific antibodies were detected by neutralizing assay. This finding was confirmed by ELISA technique. In conclusion, the main concern with anti-GH antibodies could be their ability to neutralize circulating growth hormone and inhibition its growth promoting effect.

Obviously we reintroduced dht and 5ar2, not growth hormone.

good find tim1911. If you google accutane + antibodies or auto immune you will find alot. I recently posted cases of auto immune cirhosis after accutane use.
So if we have anti DHT or 5 AR anti bodies then We will have to find anti- anti 5 AR bodies. Maybe some companies can help us.

If this is the problem and i was a doctor (which everyone knows im not) i would try something like dht cream/ proviron in conjunction with a corticosteroid, eg, dexamethasone. See what happens, then ween off the dexamethasone.

I would probably give this a go myself but i cant get those drugs in this country without prescription.

It is a damn shame you can’t get the stuff without prescription. Can’t somebody order for you and ship to you? i would do it but i am receiving too many MED packages and parents are getting freaked out, haha.

Not sure if this an appropriate post to this thread but I thought it might apply. An endocrinologist I am seeing did a blood test on me for antithyroid peroxidase ab I scored in the upper limit of 60.9. On the results of the bloodwork in the far right column it gives the acceptable ranges which go from 1.0 to 60.0. I remember him tellling me this would indicate Hashimoto’s disease and I thought he said something about an attack on the thyroid. He has me on synthroid, but I have not seen any improvement in two months. The dosage is 75mg.

this is interesting. what is your TSH, FT3, T4 etc. Have you done CRP, ESR and ANA tests?

No its not, hashimotos disease is independent of pfs, hence not many have it. Its probably just a general population thing.

No one on either side of my family has any thyroid related illness. It is not a general population thing. I can think of 5 or 6 ppl on this board that have it and im sure 90% havent tested for it.

Just because no one in your family has it doesnt mean it doesnt exist outside of pfs.
And toadstool what are you doing here? shouldnt you be getting snake oiled somewhere at the moment?

You’re literally to stupid to insult… 6 out of 2000? apply that to the entire world population… Thats like saying 40% of the world population has Hashimoto’s… GET A CLUE! Snake-oiled lol?!

My tsh was 1.01 mlu/ml with the right column stating the acceptable ranges should be .3 to 5.0
My Free t4 was 1.01 ng/dl with the right column stating the acceptable ranges should be .7 to 1.8
My total test was 498.23 ng/dl with the right column stating the acceptable ranges should be 270 -1070
For some reason my copy of my blood work didnt have my estradiol listed but he told me on the phone it was good.
stomatomedin C 164 ng/ml with acceptable ranges 52 - 328
Somatom z score mal .3 sd acceptable ranges are -2.0 to 2.0
LH 5.7 miu/ml with acceptable ranges from 1.5 to 9.3
Free testo 16.2 pg/ml with acceptable ranges from 10.8 to 40.0
Anti-tpo 60.9 Iu/ml with acceptable ranges from 1.0 to 60.0

These test were done after 3 weeks of taking synthroid once a day dosage of 50mg followed by 2 weeks of .075 mg(75mcg) dosage. He said my numbers look good and to continue with the daily .075 mg dosage and he added me welbutrin 150mg once a day to be taken with the synthroid. I don’t feel anything. Maybe had a very slight improvement in the beginning but right now really nothing. He thinks it will take a bit for this to take affect. I have a feeling my Anti-tpo is up there because I am on the synthroid.

I don’t mean to pull this thread off its topic but one other thing I wanted to post was that Shippen once had me on liothyronine for RT3. He started me on very small dosages of 5mcg and had me cycle up to 25mcg over a period of 6 to 8 weeks. I did not notice much it might of boosted my body temp up a bit to about 98 degrees. However, one week I had a prescription refilled and instead of 5mcg tables they pharmacy gave me 50 mcg tablets. I am not sure who made the mistake Shippen or Walgreens, but I took that dosage for a couple of days not realizing what I was taking and my bodytemp went to 98.4 within two days. The only thing I was feeling light headed thats why I checked and discovered what I was taking. So I stopped after a few days and cycled back down going 25 to 15 to 5 within two weeks. I always thought the dosages Shippen had me on were too low. He was very cautious with this stuff. I wish I stayed on the high dosage of the liothyronine to see if I would of felt improvement because it seemed to get my body temp upthere very quickly.

If I can remember correctly my bloodwork had my rt3 at the top of the ranges and after treatment with the liothyronie it lowered it just a bit maybe by 4 or 5 points.

BTW I once asked a nurse about my body temp being low and she told me she sees body temps from 96 to 99 all the time. She said that it does not mean anything at all if your below 98.6. I didn’t tell anything about PFS. It was just a random question.

One last thing Shippen had me on carbidopa/levodopa 6/25mg 1 capsule twice a day. I did this for over 2 months. This was seperate from the liothyronine. It had no effect.

One last thing. I have seen many doctors over the past three years and have taken quite a bit of stuff to correct the PFS. It is amazing to think of all the prescription drugs I have swallowed, rubbed on, and shot up and they seem to not have any effect but at the same time they have not caused any negative side effects, thank god. Or if they did they subsided shortly there after discontinuing their use. The same can be said for many on this site. BUT we and myself included took what seemed such a simple harmless pill, finasterside, and it caused such devastating side effects to us. Finasterside is so freakin toxic! How could the FDA or the MERCK scientist not have picked up on this!!!
