Stem cells as a therapy

Patients who underwent stem cell transplantation experienced significantly lower sexual functioning, compared to patients treated with chemotherapy only. After stem cell transplantation, patients reported decreases in the following aspects of sexual functioning: sexual activity (38 percent), ability to have sex (36 percent), pleasure from sex (31 percent), and interest in sex (28 percent).”

“In one study, patients who received stem cells from a donor (which is commonly used for MDS transplants) reported more changes in sexual function and experienced more hormonal disorders, compared to patients who received their own harvested stem cells. However, two other studies found no difference in the ability to have sex between these two treatment groups.”

This is both worrying and bizarre. How is it that injecting your own stem cells is actually worsening sexual dysfunction???

The only thing I can think of to explain this is maybe some sort of autoimmune response against the stem cells? I don’t know.

Hi Joetz, this is my first time posting in any forum. I have been following this website for some time now but have been unwilling to join as I was waiting/hoping for my symptoms to subside. I am not going to jump into anything too quickly but I find this thread to be the most promising development. I know you are constantly being asked for updates but it would be great to hear if you are still improving or even maintaining improvement. I will seriously consider this procedure as I do not wish to wait years and even embark on other treatments that can also be harmful. I am also travelling to China later in the year and I am wondering if I do chose to opt for this treatment should I go there, or else fly to the same place you went which appears to be reputable.

The “most promising development”? Please. The most promising development hands down is the creation of the PFS foundation and the multiple research projects they have organized.

“Appears to be reputable”? This is a bit like saying Bernard L. Madoff Investment Securities was the most reputable of all Ponzi schemes. And how do you know they “appear to be reputable”? From a post on this board?

Maybe you should consider doing some research before you waste a lot of time, money and hope. Have you even read the article highlighting the potential further dangers of stem cell transplants to your sexual health? Have you heard anything at all from the other 2 or 3 guys who had this procedure done? Do you know if there is any actual proven scientific basis behind such a “treatment”? Do you know what regulatory body oversees such a clinic? I’ll give you the answer to that one, none do. Do you know what the opinions of the leading researchers in regenerative medicine/stem cell hold of such a “treatment”? I’ll give you the answer to that too, not at all favorable. Have you watched the video of the lecture given by the Harvard researcher outlining his unbiased opinion and the dangers of these “treatments”?

I’m still improving but am not quite 100 percent yet. I’m going to do another procedure this week and will report back on how I’m doing. Ill also see if I can pick up copies of the bloodwork I’ve gotten recently. From what I hear the second treatment has even better results than the first

thanks Joetz. Its great to hear you have maintained improvements. I understand certain people have reservations about these controversial treatments but if this has worked for you then I believe it is worth considering at least. I am unable to PM you because I am a new user but would like to find out about where you had it done and what exactly you had done. I am not going to Jump into anything too quickly but will think about the situation over the next few months. Where do you feel you are these days in relation to ED and Libido and have you heard anything more from the other forum user who have tried this approach … Thanks again for your time

Interesting article considering Joetz subjective improvements in relation to ED.

Kentucky and Broken Pecker can you all please give us an update?

Also, has anyone else besides the 3 people listed so far had the procedure? If so, any updates or comments?

Thanks!!

Yup, that’s exactly a mirror of my experience.

one of the fastest things to change was stronger erections, and very strong ejaculations, improved orgasms, semen consistency changed from yellow and watery to clear/whitish and there was a big increase in volume. My stamina was also vastly improved. I went from lasting less than 1 minute to being able to last for 45 minutes. My sex life is great, the only thing I’m still in need of is some work on the emotional aspect of things. Experiencing love in it’s full capacity is sort of the final piece of the puzzle to solve this thing.

I think I’m going to start pursuing this treatment. I should be able to get a loan to cover the cost in a few months. I was hoping to use that money for the inevitable hair transplant I’ll need now that Fin has destroyed my hair, but I’m getting to the point where it’s either me or PFS, and I’m about at my breaking point. I feel bad saying that when there are those who have been suffering longer and with worse sides, but I’m not a strong person. I need this to be over or I’m done for. Anyway, hopefully I can get that money together soon and the treatment works out as well for me as it has for Joe and Kentucky!

I would like to hear how kentucky is doing also…

Where exactly did you do the treatment?

What about BP? Where is he? He hasn’t posted in two months. Is he alright?

this is a very good question, and i was literally thinking about him today and how he has not been around … has anyone kept in touch with him, and if so, is he ok ???

BP is alive but will not be posting for personal reasons. Please don’t PM for info.

Also, it’s disturbing that there’s another person here willing to get this procedure done despite the study already posted and the credible posters claiming no success. It took us a decade and a half to pool our resources together to solve this thing, yet people would rather take out loans for shady, unregulated “treatments” that have only been documented to make people worse: viewtopic.php?f=5&t=5387&start=420#p70163

There isn’t a treatment here that hasn’t worked for Joetz.

Here’s what Joetz said about Milk Thistle

Here’s what awor said about Milk Thistle

Rest assured, awor was right, Joetz was wrong. If you want to continue to trust Joetz, and not a research coordinator for the PFS Foundation who is studying finasteride side effects, then you’re not doing anyone a favor, especially yourself.

I always came back 3-5 days later and said I was wrong those other times. There are very few people here who haven’t tryed taking something that bought them a few good days. If any of them find anything that helps, it’s not hard to dig up old posts to discredit them

I’m going to leave this forum after six years. It kills me to see so many people suffering and I hope you all get better.

I am really sorry to hear this Joetz. I understand peoples reservations about each new treatment suggested. However If we do not hear from people who have embarked on new treatments then we lose a further source of information, and the more we know the closer we get to a better understanding of this condition. This forum is supposed to allow people in a similar situation to share their experiences but when they do they are greeted with hostility and ad hominem attacks. Skepticism and critical thinking are important but we have to foster an environment where people feel they can speak about and share their experiences . I hope you will give further updates on your experience Joetz.

hey joetz keep posting man and would you please provide me the address of clinic i can’t wait to go and get the procedure done .
and i appreciated your post and your effort to share your priceless experience . i hope you will continue.

I totally understand what you’re saying, and you’re probably right, but I’m at the point where my options are 1. take drastic measures to cure myself or 2. jump off a bridge. I’m not advocating anyone else do it and I fully acknowledge it’s probably a dumb thing to do. I’m just scared and I hurt and I want it to stop.

Cap- you need to hang in there a little longer. There is a lot of research with finasteride bc although it fucked us up bad, the drug actually has many potential therapeutic benefits. Also we don’t know the root cause, forget wether it’s permanent or not, we don’t know the exact cause. I think based on the advancement of science as well as known effects of finasteride it will be determined. Stem cell is IMO not a prudent course, the results for some people have been mixed at best
