Yeah, you’re right. Realistically I doubt I’d ever be able to afford the stem cell thing. I’m just in a really bad place right now. I was at the gun store looking at prices the other day for godsakes. Anyway, sorry for disrupting the thread. Carry on.
This “breakthrough” may offer us some hope in the future but its likely it will be many years before they have any treatments that are available to the public.

The cloning method used to produce Dolly the sheep has been revamped making it possible to produce large numbers of human embryonic stem cells. It advances the promise of personalised medicine where a patient’s own cells can be used to produce replacement tissues of any kind with a perfect match and no possibility of rejection.
For years scientists had sought a way to produce cloned human embryos and stem cells using the technique used to produce Dolly 18 years ago. The method, somatic cell nuclear transfer, worked in other species but not in humans until a team based at the Oregon Health and Science University found a way to achieve this.
Ultimately it came down to something as unexpected as using caffeine to help make the method work, the scientists write today in the journal Cell.
The research represented “a great step forward” towards the delivery of personalised medicine, said Prof Frank Barry, director of the National Centre for Biomedical Engineering Science at NUI Galway. “This seems to be good news all round.”
The cell transfer method used for Dolly involved taking DNA from an egg cell and replacing it with donor DNA. The original research team at the Roslin Institute in Edinburgh found that applying a little electric shock would make the egg and donor DNA fuse and begin to grow, but they used up hundreds of sheep egg cells before producing Dolly.
Use of human eggs did not work and it was impossible to consider using hundreds of eggs in the hope of success. Research advances made since Dolly helped them refine the process however.
They used an adult skin cell as donor DNA and attached this to the hollowed-out egg. The researchers were able to gain control over exactly when the donor DNA and egg cell fused by adding a small amount of caffeine to the liquid where the egg was kept.
They used up only two eggs to deliver cloned embryos that produced stem cells indistinguishable from those taken from a naturally fertilised egg, the researchers said.
The goal is to produce stem cells that are perfectly matched to the DNA donor. These cells are in a pluripotent state which means they can convert into any of the 200 or so cell types in the body. The goal is to use them to provide tissue transplant material to help treat brain disorders, damage caused by cardiovascular disease and as other replacement tissues, Prof Barry said.
Yes, I read this and it is fascinating. I think that the future does look bright, although as you say it will be some time before treatments are available.
If someone could actually try cerebrolysin also…i mean, my life is back guys, i may not be 100% but its certainly very close, i live a confortable life. friends , go out, go to the gym, exercise, drink…sing etc
Braziliandude- you were feeling like crap just a few months ago. How did you do it? Upward swing which has stayed?
Ive read a bunch if articles from credible sources claiming cerebrolysin is a bit of a miracle drug when it comes to treating dementia. I would have definitely tried that had I not done the stem cell therapy since it is a hell of a lot cheaper and seems to help people with cognitive problems. When I got the stem cell treatment I was pretty much their youngest patient ever…most of the the people they tried the therapy on were old people suffering from dementia. My friends niece works in the office and they have seen huge results from dementia patients.
Anyway you guys should check out this article

I’m convinced this is a neurological problem, screwing around with hormones will get you nowhere IMO.
hey there im sorry…i didnt catch the message…well, yes once i started using the cerebrolysin…about a month after I started to feel…just so normal, like calm…and wanting to do regular stuff…im not 100 % but what I want to say is that I have a life, Im back to studying like never before, Im singing again, Im traveling, Ive been having some semi casual sex every once in a while…so life is taking its course, obviously I still suffer from some sexual issues…however stem cell is not something I wouldnt try in the near future, by the end of this year if I dont feel that the sexual issues got any better…I would really want to undergo this treatment. PS: melatonin also helped me in a way…melatonin SUBLINGUAL, it goes straight into the system, I notice that every time I take I wake up with a semi erection. so something to take note here.
I noticed I just wanted to get on with my life too, propose to my girl, get married, buy a house, have kids. Stuff I could never dream of even considering ten years ago, or even one year ago for that matter. Some interesting parallels here. It seems like we are both in the same place but took different methods to get there
My mind feels so incredibly calm and I feel so at peace it’s amazing.
Friends like this in the sexual part???
It would be nice if Kentucky could post his experience.
Whenever I’ve asked him, he tells me he’s doing really well. Can’t blame him for not being too motivated to post. I’m not particularly motivated to post either.
Still doing well and continuing to improve. However recovery is FRAGILE and I did have a few days where PFS symptoms did start coming back after alcohol. Generally I feel good, will try to outline the changes the best I can
Anti-Anxiety: Have experienced profoundly reduced anxiety
Anti-Stress: I am far more able to deal with stressful situations, perform at work far better
Anti-Depressant: I feel much greater anti-depressant effects, a general feeling of well-being
Social Ability: I have far reduced social inhibition, I find myself frequently reaching out to people I have lost touch with.
Speech: More fluid than before, much less frequently hunting for the right word, much faster “come backs” to jokes, smalltalk, etc
Concentration: Much better concentration when people are talking to me
Motivation: Feel more motivated, actively looking for ways to make more money, think about the future more than recently
Happiness: Improved well-being
Clarity: Less foggy thoughts, more active imagination, more day dreaming
Mental Energy: Mental energy has increased.
Physical Energy: Now I am far more active, and doing things that used to get me winded take longer. I feel some kind of release from physical activity which makes it more satisfying
Cognitive Benefit: Substantial changes here. Less of the “dude, where is my car” moments where I used to wander around parking lots. Substantially better sense of direction
Memory Benefit: Moderate improvements to short term memory. Long term memory was never really hit to hard by finasteride.
Emotional Sensitivity: My emotional response is improved but there is also great room for improvement
Appetite: Massive massive gains here. Feel like I will lose my mind if I don’t eat now.
Vision: My eyes have changed a little. Now my glasses are a bit too strong for me
Libido: Libido is about not 100 percent what it was. My sexual performance is excellent, but would love to get more
Headaches: I’ve been getting freakish zaps (I don’t know what else to call them) in my left hemisphere that feel like jolts of electricity. I don’t know why they happen but I tend to feel more aggressive following a day of many zaps.
Dexterity: I feel more skill in performing tasks
Sleep: Improved sleep, more dreams, feeling more well rested after sleep. Also feel more fatigued when it’s time to sleep, like a “resistance is futile, you are sleeping now” kind of effect
Body Temp: I’m turning into a real sweaty bastard, physical activity makes me sweat a lot more. Body temp has climbed from 97 degrees to the normal 98.6ish
Body hair: Massive losses of hair in the crown continue, but also have been experiences big increases in body hair, particularly on the shoulders.
I’m sure as soon as I post this I am going to experience more changes or remember something I forgot to mention. For the record, I am not plugging any doctor or clinic, and I’m not telling anyone to go do this because I am not sure the results are permanent or work for everyone. So far it does seem to have helped everyone who has tried it that I know of, but it’s going to take another year before I can determine if the changes are long-term/permanent
Hi joetz,
Does the treatment have any effect on your penis or testicles ?
I never had shrinkage so I might not be the best person to answer that. Foreskin moves much more easily with better elasticity, sensation is improved, and orgasm is vastly better. It’s far easier to get an erection now. I don’t need physical stimulation for an erection. I can get it up with my mind. My sexual performance is very good but my libido is still not 100 percent.
Where is your libido at?
Glad to see your posts again joetz.
hi joe this thread has made me decide to get stem cell therapy for the same issues as you.
the one thing i want back overall is emotions,
what are your emotions like? before the drug i could feel a variety of emotions, at intense rates. now i literally feel nothing, not even guilt or empathy. has that improved at all? do you feel a variety of emotions from the stem cell treatment? has it introduced new feelings? do you mind giving background as to how long you took it?
Shoreline- the effects are devastating but I wouldn’t jump to stem cell. I am progressing a lot after a year off the drug, give it time
Apparently the place Kentucky had his procedure done at is right where I live. I can’t afford it right now but I’m going to schedule an appointment and at least ask some questions.
That is so great to hear.
