I’m hoping the gains will be permanent but so far the rest of the patients have all been old people with Alzheimer’s or various forms of dementia. I’m really pretty much the only young person the doctor has done at this particular place. So there isn’t much of a track record, this being a relatively new therapy and all.
I have a full panel of recent bloodwork in October. I don’t know if that is recent enough for a before and after comparo though. I’ll call the office and see if I can get a faxed copy
When did you have treatment done? Could you do a new round if you can spare the expense?
I know I come across as dismissive but there are alot of guys (myself included) who are very desperate to get better. With the lack of any science I’m aware of behind this type of treatment and these clinic’s history of playing fast and loose with facts when it comes to marketing their services I just want everyone to go in with eyes wide open before they lay down north of $5K.
Thanks for the info, joetz. Despite there being no track record with treatment of people your age, if you talk to your doctor again, it’d be interesting to hear whether he believes the effects are permanent. Let us know if you hear anything on that front, and, obviously, hope you continue to feel better.
I had it done in key biscayne Florida. You can PM me for the doctors contact info if you want to go do it. I understand the reluctance to do the therapy for at least six reasons:
-I’ve thought I was cured before and fell on my face
-It’s expensive as hell
-Just because it helped me its no guarantee it will help everyone
-I’m still not 100% cured
-The lipo hurts like a motherfucker
-I still haven’t completed six months of progress and month six is most important because that’s when I’ll have the most stem cells in my system
Clamp, I meant a new round of labs. My mistake, I can see from my post I wasn’t clear about that.
Right now for me I can’t see how this treatment would be helpful. I just havn’t come across any science that supports this particular treatment. It seems fairly soon we should have a pretty good idea where the root problem lies and what if anything can be done about it.
No problem. Keep in mind, too, that Broken_Pecker and Kentucky also had the treatment done. They’re still in the relatively early stages (both had it done less than three months ago, I believe, and I’m pretty sure joetz has mentioned in the past that only after three months did he start seeing real improvements). I share your concerns about there being no scientific backing, but if a number of guys all start reporting positive results, the treatment is something I, for one, would strongly have to consider.
As an aside, in Kentucky’s case, the only thing that concerns me is that he also decided to incorporate progesterone and selegiline into his regimen after getting the treatment, which means if he were to see improvements it would be difficult to know whether the stem cells or the other treatments are actually causing his gains.
joetz, out of curiosity, was there any truth to you regrowing hair from the cells injected in your scalp? at least if that is true, it means they are capable of something … again, this is not a question centered around hair loss, but i am curious as to the power the stem cells have had in your mind
In the beginning I really was convinced I was growing extra hair but as I recovered more and more, my hairless stepped up to a pre-Propecia level of hair loss. My pillow is literally covered every morning and my shower drain is clogged as my hormones are coming back online. So I think any benefit in hair growth I got was overpowered by (likely) sharply rising dht levels
i think that is a good thing if you can TRULY feel your hormones coming back online. may i ask, did your prostate go completely numb and stay that way after your crash?
I think changes in the ejaculate is one of the canaries in the coal mine for PFS. Before the therapy my semen was dark yellow with a very strange consistency. My ejaculations were almost completely yellow and watery with some jello-like clumps mixed in. Sometimes the clumps were almost orange in color. I think this is a sign that something is completely wrong in our bodies, perhaps signs of an infection or at least some kind of imbalance. After the therapy one of the very first things that changed for me, mostly at month three was the consistency of the semen, which because much more uniform and much more clear. Also the propultion changed, now is much more forceful. I can feel the build up now. It will start at a one during sex and build all the way up to an eight or a nine before the ejaculation. Before it would go from a zero to a one or two before the ejaculation.
I don’t know if the odd color and consistency of PFS ejaculations are because the prostate is screwed up or because there is a neurological problem that is causing the prostate to malfunction. The human body is so enormously complicated. All I know is I am getting better over the last few months and my body is changing.
Get me banned , I don’t really care. To be honest, i’ve probably done a lot more work behind the scenes than you have. The amount of hours i’ve spent on skype helping guys from this forum out, sending information, getting them doctors , sharing positivity, stop being so precious.
My point exactly. “the human body is enormously complicated” “very true joetz” Wow great input.
I spent 6 months feeling completely fucked up. I’m feeling almost back to normal, so if you want to beat around the bush thinking having lipo suction is going to fix you, go for it.
Obviously, that’s a complete oversimplification of the procedure he had done. Regardless, each member of this board – you, me, and everyone else – is ultimately on the same side, so I’m not going to get into an inane argument with someone who’s fighting the same fight I am. The point is, I think everyone here wishes you well in your treatment and hopes you continue to improve. I’m not sure why you can’t extend that same courtesy to others.
