I took Paroxetine for panic problems. I have never had too strong adverse effects. Only in the early days, it made me sweat. For over five years I took Paroxetine and I could also stop it without side effects. One day a neurologist suggested I take 5-htp. Since then, my life is over.

Anyone knowledable? please

The neurologist suggested you take 5-htp alongside Paroxetine? From what I understand taking 5htp with a SSRI could increase the risk of serotonin syndrome.

#3

He told me that it is free of side effects and that it would help me with my anxiety.

#4

Sorry to hear thar you are syffering that way! Yeah… That makes me think this condition should not be called PFS. You see, you never took Fin or Propecia and you have the same symptoms as others. I had the same symptoms as yours when I crashed and I took only Minoxidil for 6 months and Saw Palmetto for 2.5 days.

A sign of an anti-androgenic effect of 5-HT itself is discussed in this post, with the first study linked and first paragraph specifically discussing 5-HT receptors.

Also recently witnessed a friend have a very bad (temporary) reaction to 5-HTP taken after only a few (3-4) alcoholic drinks, involving dizziness, disorientation, vomiting, and swollen eyelids. …She looked heavily stoned. This stuff is far from harmless.

In your opinion, is there anything I can do? My prolactin levels are high and my free testosterone is very low. What could I do? I have already tried citrulline, mucuna pruriens, aspartic acid and zinc, but the situation continues to worsen.

#7

i took minoxidil orally and nothing happened. took propecia and brain fog started immediately

#8

Dunno about you, but I noticed some strange stuff going on while taking Regaine… I didn’t pay attention at the beginning though, stuff like, some days I had absence of morning wood, and at the end of the usage I noticed that when I have extended sexual activity my legs hurt like I had flu for about 10 minutes after that. Then I took SP and got the sides on the second day. That makes me think the Regaine set me up for the final crash that fucked me up. My fault that I believed this shit is harmless. It is not apparently. It is my opinion though, so you don’t have to share the same opinion.

#9

ok . no problem. my opinion is that minoxidil cant cause and endocrine system crash. so yes you could have sides but they go away when you quit. more likely that saw palmetto was the cause of your disease

#10

That could be the case bro! I could only guess at the moment what led me to this condition…

#11

My humble opinion is to give it some time before throwing treatments at the problem and risk worsening the situation. Most naturally recover somewhat in the early months to 1year mark. If you are DX’ed with high prolactin or low T, treating those issues might (also might not) help.

#12

Hey man,

If I were you, I would try TRT out. Your free T is low, is your total T low as well? Get a hormone panel done with sensitive estradiol test and figure out what your bloodwork looks like. Also, check out thyroid. How high is your prolactin?

In PFS, most people do not respond to TRT. It’s almost like it is treatment resistant. In your case, you may respond to it, or you may not. Your case could simply be hypogonadism, from antidepressants and not typical PFS. For example, my test and free test are both pretty solid. Total test is in the low 700s/high 600’s range. For me, it does not make sense to try TRT because my levels are already excellent, and it is clear that testosterone is not the issue.

Get an overall picture of what your hormonal situation is, including thyroid. And remember, a doctor may call you normal with a “350” level because you fall in the range of the lab, but that is still low.

#13

In recent months, I have tried Mucuna Pruriens, Citrulline, zinc and aspartic acid … Unfortunately, contrary to my expectations, testosterone decreased and prolactin increased. Tomorrow I will go to an andrologist, but now I have little faith in the doctors …

#14

What mean DX? Sorry, i’m not English…

#15

It’s short for diagnosis. If you trulu ha e high prolactin and/or low T, treating those might help.

#16

jump on JQD protocol
only proven to work
-test enanthate
thyroid
hydrocortisone

easy…

#17

And have you done this yourself?

#18

What is JQD protocol?

#19

Hi! You have exactly the same symptoms as when i crashed with Paroxetine. We re waiting you also on http://www.pssdforum.com/ .
Thank you for your posting and we are very sorry for you. Neither to the greatest enemy i don’t want what we have passed.

@iull1k Hello, I’m also registered on PssdForum, but I think it’s more important to be all together (PFS, PSSD, PAS etc …) on a single forum and this seems the most complete. I think the substances that created the problem are different, but the problem is the same.
