Just jumping in here real quick. I too noticed this symptom and had some relief (npi) by taking a big dose of Magnesium Citrate (actually it was 3 types of mag in 1). What this does, among other things, is empty your bowels. I noticed better blood flow to my dick and an increased flaccid size. I’ll be writing more about my findings (personal observations and research articles) soon.
Sorry to clog up this thread further, but i think this is worth a read:
Scroll down to read the section about ‘toxicity’ and leakage through the intestinal wall: prostate-massage-and-health.com/constipation.html
With a healthy diet, colon cleanse and regular prostate massages, maybe i’ll be able to get myself out of this PFS mess.
I don’t buy into paying for prostate massages but want to see what happens when i massage it. Just ordered a prostate massager to see how i respond. Today it was really hurting as i was on a very uncomfortable chair.
I don’t think a bowel issue affects the prostate in the way you are suggesting as if it were you’d be septic and systemically very unwell.
On a positive note I am in my final year of medical school and hopefully will graduate next year as a doctor.
For your information, I sent an email to Dr Georgiadis and told him
the good news: that my sexual functioning in general has improved by 30%.
and the bad news: that my sexual functioning is extremely poor when my bowels are full.
Here is a snippet of his reply:
In many patients, with chronic prostatitis problems, we have at the same time, gastro - intestinal disturbances, very
similar to yours. The problem of your intestinal tract is mainly functional (not organic), and it is immediately related to your prostate problem. This means, that the nervous system of the intestinal tract is at the same time disturbed when you have a problem in the urogenital system.
So, the point is 1st to clear up the prostate from microbes (the infection) and then to 2nd eliminate any hard tissue (the inflammation) in order to liberate the trapped nerves (which is the main cause for the symptoms including the ones you mentioned).
As you can imagine, with only three weeks therapy you performed, it would be far too optimistic that we could have 100%
satisfactory results. Nevertheless, we will try to have the best possible result and confrontation to your chronic prostatitis,
even from a distance, until I can see you again.
I feel like we are on the right lines with the gut and prostate investigation but at the same time it is going to be so difficult to pinpoint what exactly is going on and no doctors know anything about this sort of stuff.
Have you guys looked into acid/ alkaline balance of the body? is it possible that raising pH in the gut will kill off any infection?
or is this quack bullshit?
More likely is that when you “pass stool” you have to “clench the pelvic floor”…creating even more tension…
Here is a CPPS/Pelvic Tension thread I made a while ago…that I updated last night viewtopic.php?f=30&t=5341
I bought one…used it a few days last week. I felt a little run down for the next 3-4 days. Wonder if it released some infection…or if Im just imagining it.
Maybe it should. It’s pretty discouraging we have a molecular investigation of PFS going on and there is a 75 page thread on Prostatitis. I understand wanting an open forum for ideas but there is alot of complete nonsense posted on many threads which has cost alot of people valuable time and money.
FWIW, the Russian Doctor at the prostatitis clinic I went to in toronto told me to drink 4oz of aloe vera juice twice a day on an empty stomach… and told me to take one Florastor at bedtime. He also believes in the stomach connection to prostatitis apparently. Unless he wants me taking this before an antibiotic cocktail… which I think he may prescribe in the future.
I get all kinds of test results back on the 17th.
I also bought myself a prostate massager a while ago and thought it helped somewhat… Where I went wrong I think is using it/ejaculating too many times in a week.
I must say it’s really nothing at all like having your prostate drained. I had this done in the initial consultation and it was painful for the 5 or so minutes it took. I had no idea you could even get fluid to come out the penis by pushing on the prostate. My urine stream seemed twice as strong for the next three days after that.
This thread is far too entertaining to be blocked.
Jokes aside, even if prostatitis is not the root cause of pfs, it can be a symptom caused by the various hormonal imbalances we have got thanks to fin. There is nothing wrong in treating symptoms. Therefore, prostatitis threads are useful and should stay open.
Most of us can separate Solon’s contributions from the general topic of prostatitis.
The thread title is perfectly apt and the discussion is worthwhile.
This is interesting. Both suggestions are OTC. Is this gentleman permitted to write prescriptions? If it’s the guy I’m thinking about, he may be an R.N. Anyway, I’m guessing he has some experience with this regimen.
Did you broach PFS with them, or strictly prostate problems?
