Prostatitis treatment as a novel insight into Finasteride related problems

I forgot to mention that my prostate pain was the first thing that improved. Now I don’t have it, or maybe just little discomfort. But it’s difficult to make true assessments, as antibiotics are very strong and make some of us, including myself, very tired during the day.

Hehehe… Keepup always says this “It is really so bad…”

I agree with JG, you should come out more it will really help, even if it doesn’t seem like it now. The days go much quicker.

A quick update on myself. I am having pretty good morning erections every day now. Also my testicles are a little bigger and hang lower than before treatment. They also look more healthy (more blood flow?) and the actuall balls are soft again instead of being hard. They look normal now. Otherwise there is no improvement whatsoever. I am on day 23? of treatment now.

Doc says I am doing “very good” so hopefully that means I am on the road to better health. I really still have no idea if this therapy will work or not…

I really pray for all who are going for prostate treatment. If 4 - 5 people get healed I will go to Kos too. on the same time I want people to look at this problem from autoimmune angle. Is it not possible that our bodies have developed anti DHT or anti testosterone anti bodies. Also many of us have now low iron in their blood and there are reports that fin users developed Anti-erythropoietin anti bodies.
I also found there are anti DHT and Anti testosterone anti bodies for sale ( developed in rabbits and sheeps) I don’t know what are their applications though.
and what would you say about recovery from Dexamethasone? does not that again hint that our system is having anti bodies against our own system?

Who has low iron in their blood Sps? Or even low red blood cell counts? Not me. But let me make this comment:

YES! There is such a thing as anti-testosterone autoantibodies and YES! such a thing can lead to a novel form of hypogonadism.

Autoantibody against Testosterone in a Woman with Hypergonadotropic Hypogonadism
jcem.endojournals.org/content/83/1/14.full.pdf

Its interesting. Should be added to the list of possibles.

Of course, many of these more severe side effects are not just found in hypogonadism but are also not unkown in other chronic illnesses (such as -ahem- a severe, severe case of prostatisis).

Start a new thread and look into it then fellas… The more angles we hit this from the better…!

I have low iron. Wedderbell2 has reported the same to me in his pm. Maybe I am not to alarming level but my hands, and feet are no more red, but pale grayish
the study you qouted is interesting. The woman has high level of testosterone (The serum testosterone level measured by RIA was extremely elevated (5.80 ng/mL); after elution, serum testosterone had returned to a normal
female value (0.21 ng/mL) but she had no virilization. Also antinuclear antibody, anti-DNA antibody, anti-ribonucleoprotein antibodies, and anti-Sm antibody, were not detected in the patient’s serum
. This is interesting. So these tests are useless for us. I have done ANA and ESR both are negative.
Another thing is
A gel filtration study showed that the testosterone-binding activity was eluted at the position of 150,000-kDa Ig. Scatchard analysis
revealed a low affinity antibody; the association constant was 0.034 3 103 mol21 , and the maximal binding capacity was 162 mol/mL. An immunoprecipitation study using the chain-specific antibodies showed that the antitestosterone autoantibody belonged to k-type
IgG. This subject is the first reported case with an endocrine disorder who possessed autoantibodies against testosterone. (J Clin Endocrinol Metab 83: 14 –16, 1998)

the important thing for me is "autoantibody belonged to k-type IgG ". Now I maybe wrong ,please correct me if I am wrong, this is IgG is the same anti-body which Vasectomized males are developing. Most of these males first got swelling in their balls after vasectomy and when swelling subdued balls were smaller and they were hypo gonadal.

ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/7884742
Results support the hypothesis that vasectomy mimics immunization with spermatozoa, while the high incidence of IgM antibodies in the earliest sample, taken 2 weeks after vasectomy, suggests that the initial immunizing event occurs within approximately 1 week after the operation. Vasovasostomy caused no decrease in antisperm antibodies.

Please can you get a blood test for your T levels when you return home? It would be very interesting to know if our low T readings are related to a blood flow issue to/from the testicles, due to prostate/area damage. Mayeb LH cannot reach the testes as easily as before and the same for T being released from the testes, all due to blockages of some sort

I also have very low iron, worryingly it has been on a steep downcurve in the 4 sets of blood tests i have had done. I also sometimes have a grey complexion to my skin that i think sps refers to.

Yes, Chi, I plan on getting bloodwork done post treatment…

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Diclofenac

Have any of you been using Diclofenac as an anti inflammatory?

Did any of you Kos guys catch when the doc opens tonight? (Tuesday)

Was it 6 or 7?

Guys I need some advice:
Today i suffered a setback as i had a flare up of gyno again.
(I thought my gyno had gone completely but just today but it came back).

It may be related to taking the sustain-alpha (increase in testosterone and estrogen) or it may be because my diet has been poor over the last couple of days.
Also I had some testicular pain again which I haven’t had for a few weeks.

I am thinking of taking some calcium d-glucarate or chyrsin as an estrogen blocker to see if that helps.
If anyone has any better ideas please let me know.

Sorry i do not have better news to report.
Currently I am on an “ejaculation fast” which basically means no ejaculating.
(I want to see if my libido increases over the next few days)

although I didn’t have gyno, I tried a liver cleanse with Chinese bitters and it seemed to have cleared up the bloating I have, which I believe was estrogen related.

A fully functioning liver would be able to purge estrogens quicker from from the body.

Not sure if starting to supplement with all this stuff is good for your prostatic healing period. What did Dr G say about supplementation post treatment?

Sustain also gives me gyno…even though it didn’t use to do that (post crash too).

Oral chrysin will not do anything. It only works transdermally. However it is VERY weak AI. Your better off getting arimidex/anastrozole.

This is starting to get off track, the past few post posts have nothing at all to do with prostatitis. You guys might be best to start another thread or discuss this via PM.

why has this thread gone so quiet

Lack.Of.Positive.Updates.

I’ve spoken to some gents who are currently over there.

They won’t be defending their thesis on the public forum. The treatments are gruelling enough.

I’m sure we’ll hear more upon completion of their treatment.

No body wants to hide good news. Success sells itself. If the thread has got quiet then you don’t need to find resons.

Do you know how painful those prostate massages are, why would it be their top priority to update the boards, even if they are feeling better, the prostate massages are extremely painful from the people I’ve spoken with, they have other concerns to deal with over there then worrying about what to tell message boards.

Just wait till they get back positive or negative, we’ll know then.
