Prostatitis treatment as a novel insight into Finasteride related problems

Well, I dont want to make this thread even more confusing and removed from the actual topic we should be dicussing (prostatitis!) but the fact is that finasteride can in fact cause two catagories of side-effects:

  1. Sexual side effects
  2. Hypersensitivity side effects
Both of which should go away, but both of which clearly do not always go away.

Hypersensitivity and auto-immune system illnesses are linked. But I am unable to find such diseases that match our symptoms, or get worse after stopping a drug. Therefore this 2nd catagory may be a total dead end. But it is worth noting enough people have had benefits from using Corticosteroids, which are in fact used to treat hypersensitivity and auto-immune type illnesses, for it to be worth noting.

(ps. if your mum is an expert on blood and she cant believe your blood test results then maybe they are wrong?)

Who has had benefits from corticosteriods, cause they fucked me worse for a bit.

  1. I had a squirt of blood drawn from my finger
  2. the blood was placed onto a microscopic slide right before my eyes
  3. A nutritional microbiologist (PhD, not M.D., not naturopath, and not shaman) examined the blood for over an hour, as I looked on, zooming in at different magnifications
  4. the entire process with his vocal commentary and analysis was recorded onto DVD
  5. the findings (just look at the screen shot) were indisputable evidence of unhealthy blood. the red blood cells were spiky and of various irregular shapes instead of a healthy round form, there were uric acid crystals, some white blood cells that showed inactivity (not good). there were L-shaped bacteria, fungal forms, yeast, free radical damage
  6. My mother, a former immunohematologist then reviewed the DVD recording and corroborated the validity of the observations in addition adding a few of her own. Since she’s examined a ton of blood in her lifetime, she can spot this stuff easily and she assured me that clearly things were not right.

Bottom line: I’m taking measures to address this. As are at least a handful of others who’ve performed a similar analysis. We could represent .001% of the people on this board, or maybe more. I would feel guilty if I didn’t disclose my findings. We’re here, after all, to pursue recovery from all associated ailments, that’s why we discuss nutrition, hormones, physical issues, diagnoses, treatments etc. To act as if blood findings are irrelevant to the discussion of infection is disingenuous. Everyone can believe whatever they want to believe, it’s no skin off my back. If anyone wants to operate from the assumptive conclusion that only XYZ organ is affected in ABC way and work backwards from that, discarding any additional revelations that come into play, then that’s their prerogative.

Once again, I’m looking forward to hearing updates from Solonjk and any others that book with urologists to examine the issue of prostate infection or related infections.

Myself, I’m awaiting the results of a semen analysis. I’m half expecting a letter in the mail that says “Sorry, there wasn’t enough specimen to test from your pathetic excuse for ejaculate.” I’m also booked with urologists to hopefully have the prostatis issue examined. See, I have no horse in this race, I just want to get better. Any and every area that I uncover needs tweaking–I want to tweak.

Live Blood Analysis, Is It a Scam?
microscopesblog.com/2009/10/live-blood-analysis-is-it-scam.html

Oscar, I just read all your links. I don’t doubt that people abuse this type of service, but I still do not see an explanation for the visuals provided in my previously attached blood screen shot. The criticisms on quackwatch do not correlate to observations made on my blood. I don’t have a hereditary explanation for the shape of my red blood cells, for example, as my parents’ blood was not irregular (confirmed). No wild claims were made on the findings. A simple google image search can yield comparative healthy blood. There’s a stark difference, no? Have you even looked at my blood? Are you saying that the practitioner smeared unhealthy looking blood on the slide? Or that he drew incorrect conclusions? Either way, could you substantiate your claim?

Similarly, the quackwatch entry for candida focused on sellers of phony products. That doesn’t indict candida any more than the existence of that a-hole that was peddling a finasteride cure for a fee discredits the existence of PFS. I could also find a lot of doctors and websites that claim PFS is nonsense–doesn’t make it so, right?

I’m very open-minded. I’d like for someone who has the ability to analyze blood to tell me what they see, if there is an alternate explanation.

The 2nd opinion I got from an immunohematologist I trust dearly  says that there’s stuff that doesn’t belong in the blood present. Until someone credibly gives me a reason to not believe this, I’ll continue to believe that the treatment I’ve been doing (which has yielded marginal, but not insignificant results for me; and immense improvement in at least one other like case) is warranted, and at least a piece of my personal treatment protocol. It may be but one of many, outstanding issues post-finasteride. I’m always skeptical, but I’ll never rule out anything. I don’t have a bias against non M.D.s. As I’ve said before, it was M.D.s that prescribed the finasteride poison in the first place. That’s quackery to me.

for the forum sake i will not argue on something that can damage the legal suite of the people, but my prior purpose was also to heal myself and share what was useful in my case.

i’m aware that the main theory here is epigenetic, but how someone rightly said we must remain openminded

somebody just shared this link on autoimmunity and functional medicine. Thought it was a great read, and summarizes an approach all-too-often not taken by most practitioners:

huffingtonpost.com/dr-mark-hyman/is-there-a-cure-for-autoi_b_756937.html

The proof will be in the pudding. Get treated and then get back to us.

This is not relevant. Who is supplying you this information and why?

Anyway, search ‘Mark Hyman’ and ‘quack’ or ‘Institute of Functional Medicine’ and ‘quack’.

Oscar, I’m pretty sure these guys understand the need for caution. They’re both told me themselves that its a shady industry. But hey, we’ve even got a shady website set up for “finasteride recovery” now. There’s always going to be people trying to take advantage. To assume everyone is shady though is quite frankly, silly. Anyway, the improvements ihatepropecia has been enjoying is proof enough in his case. That’s the end game, don’t forget.

The fact is I have revealed the testing these two have had as a scam. Believe what you want. If it wasnt for me noone would know this. Many people could have fallen for this scam before it was revealed. That would not help the ‘end game’.

Why not take a minute to congratulate me?

Colin297/Mens Rea, I have not read a post from you that wasnt factually incorrect or concocted out of thin air or totally pointless. Reading your posts is quite frankly a waste of time. If we had all followed your posts we would be getting scammed left and right or getting excited by copying delusional theories started by internet educated experts from other forums (chilln!) who are basing their own ideas on nothing whatsoever. You have done no research and added nothing. You should be thanking people like me. That is all!

Back to the topic…

I think that this prostatitis is the most realistic theory and/or explanation of everything so far. Much more likely than mutated genes thats for sure.

So basically, the prostate is messed up and its unable to convert the testosterone via 5AR II enzyme that is in mainly in the prostate which is leading to severe ED, shrinkage and lack of libido. … The infection can cause all sorts of problems including many of the weird random sides we are getting and it can spread up to the digestive system. Things like candida sure but probably not the main problem. then we stress out and have all the effects from high levels of stress and become extremely depressed and suffer the symptoms of depression. All this combined is PFS…

When we take a bunch of steroids and shit to try to get better we could be fucking it all up worse and worse! When I see this new theory I think…this all makes sense finally… how else can i have dead dick until i shoot 500mg of testosterone and then im normal for a few months then go back to dead dick until I STOP the testosterone completely… then im okay off and on more based on my diet than anything… the testosterone probably shoves so much test to the prostate it can convert SOME of it just a little until the infection gets worse…

thats what i got from this…

also, it would explain why people can take different things and end up with the same problem ie accutane and sp

one thing of note, however, is i wonder if the doctor has treated 20 patients how come none of them have been on this website or anything. you all know how depserate we become and our due dilligence lead us to this website. i would venture to guess that there arent too many guys suffering from this whom arent online at this point looking for a resolution. also the OP mentions this:
“and i have talked to more than twenty of his patients that have recovered completely, and i mean COMPLETELY”

In what capacity did you speak to all 20 of his recovered patients. I have never met any of my doctor’s patients let alone all 20 of them…at once… not saying it didnt happen i would just like more information about that because it seems unlikely

I have a referral now for the trans-rectal ultrasound and i guess we will take from there… figures crossed … who would think you would be looking forward to having some guy stick his figures in your ass lol

explanation of everything? …oh jeez

Who mentioned 5aR?? Even if 5aR is messed up in the prostate 3aDiolG is mostly a product of the liver. And what about other physical/mental symptoms, other than the sexual ones?

Who said this? What are you basing this on? What side effects could that cause?

Noone has proved candida is the problem. Two people have had a very, very dubious test that found yeast in there blood (as well as parasites lol!) But, if it is the problem why shouldnt it be the main problem?

uh? ‘Brain fog’ caused by depression, ‘anhedonia’ caused by depression, memory/comprehension issues caused by depression, fatigue caused by depression? What an insult! (“its all in your head”)

NO! NO! NO! RUBBISH!

This thread is getting way off track. But for the record, there are a few Dr. Mark Hyman’s out there, and this guy is the real deal. If you think a doctor who takes on big pharma like the real Dr. Hyman does ( see this link is incompetent, then you’re obviously not open to the truth. The stuff he uncovers is mind-blowing. For example:

Oh yeah he’s bought and paid for.

easy killer… i was just expressing my thought process when reading this thread i dont fuckin know what it is and i dont pretend to (<ahem…>)

i DO know that this is a lot more likely than most of the other theories and offers a better explanation than most other things

AGAIN I WAS SUMMARIZED MY OWN THOUGHT PROCESS

Sorry you completely lost me. You didn’t reveal anything but your own mental instability.

I love how your tone is different on the other forum, atleast im consistent.

Anyway here are posts from allthingsmale…email responses from this prostatitus guy in Greece,. Pavlos Georgiadis :

Sounds like a good guy. I might consider going to him in the future should my problems not completely go away.

Look chaps there is no point in arguing here. You have a testable idea -get it tested for and treated and let us know what happens. The idea of the prostate being affected is not new. Whether it is directly a problem as you suggest or merely a consequence of androgen resistance is impossible to tell here.

I have a painful prostate and I have responded to antibiotics when I am on them. No other medication has made a profound impact on me. Messing with hormones has done nothing for me. Also when I orgasm i do not feel it in the penis but deep in my prostate - it feels uncomfortable and i think prevents me having and maintaining an erection. The reason for why antibiotics help is up for debate. I am still waiting for a source from awor (about them being HDACis) or anyone else (Oscar do you have an idea?) to give a good alternative explanation. Upon stopping them I have declined. For those who give it a go please post your findings here:

thank you.

Are you aware of anyone getting cured by him? I would love to hear some stories from patients.

Nope, TS is the first one from this forum (that we know of, anyway) that is a patient of his.
