Progesterone treatment?

From what I’ve read, every person who claims to of had no improvements was not following the protocol, dosing too much or not long enough and/or leaving stuff out…the people who are getting better from it are the ones who have stuck with it.

Actually I’m not sure even one person is following the protocol which is :

10 mg of progesterone,
2.5 mg of selegiline (after 5 mg daily for three days)
Maca
Tongkat Ali

For those of you who have used workout “stacks” you know that in order for certain supplements to work it sometimes has to be used in conjunction with other supplements or you get little to no benefit. We have to take everything into consideration and dismiss certain cases that weren’t properly tested.

Listen people, I crashed after 5 days…numb penis, no sexual thoughts, it was a crappy month, but a month letter everything clicked into place and since that time, now almost 2 months later I have full libido, digestion, better memory, no brain fog. Stop fearing the crash, it’s not permanent, don’t listen to fear Mongerers.

That’s awesome, do you remember what your doses were like? Were they are around 10mg once a day or do you think you went higher/lower?

For the record I eat very irregularly. Most days I skip breakfast and lunch entirely, 1 or 2 days a week I just eat eggs for breakfast, lunch is usually an after thought and I’m too cheap to pay for it from a fast foot place. I do eat a lot of coconut oil and make my own skyr (Icelandic style yogurt) and probably have ~12 Avocados a week. Those are the only healthy things I eat on a regular basis. I guess you could say I exercise well but I wouldn’t describe myself as a health nut. I find if I try to diet I end up getting frustrated and eating a whole jar of nutella or peanut butter. Last time I had my T checked it was in the 680s (way higher than the 210 I had with hypothyroidism) in January. I take 75 mcg T3 daily split into Morning Noon and evening, some days if I’m feeling down I’ll add 12.5 or 25 at bedtime so I can rebound the next day.

Well I guess the eating super healthy part wasn’t entirely true, but in sure it helps. And that info does reinforce what I postulated about high t

Good theorizing I wasn’t disagreeing with you. Who knows maybe compared to others I do eat healthy.

Just for the record I am following the protocol except I decided not to take another drug like seg and instead take 5HTP a natural way of boosting serotonin. I am still have great success although gradual but am patient I’ve had this for 5 years.

That’s fantastic! could you describe your success a bit? How much has libido improved?

It comes and goes you are on a bit of a roller coaster ride with this protocol, I guess the bodies way of trying to adjust. I am only on month 2 so I guess I have a ways to go. The biggest difference is mood, sleep and orgasms are much better still have ED but getting better, libido still not that good but getting there. sensitivity in penis is still bad but I have had a few good days with that, I miss that the most : (
I have just ordered those chinese herbs for the prostate as I think in other peoples protocols they seemed to help.
All in all I think everyone should give this a go, just have to be prepared for the initial mini crashes, I just pushed through.

Gazzaa why would you take herbs to your prostate? Are you feeling something there? Maybe you should try DIM or high dosage of zinc if you’re feeling anything in your prostate maybe your estradiol is getting higher or more effective. Do you think your rollercoaster is in a upward way?

I’m glad you brought up 5-htp, I’ve had great success with 5-HTP as a sleep aid, and anti anxiety. On any night where I can’t get sleep I take just 50 mg 5-HTP and it doesn’t knock me out but allows me to go to sleep when I close my eyes; in other words it doesn’t sedate me but makes sleep easily attainable.

I’ve read (but can’t seem to find right now) evidence that shows it’s not safe to take every day all the time so you may want to read into it if you like.

I’m on this protocol for the past 3 weeks with Progesterone cream. And I did notice some improvements. Having said this, I just ran across this site which has quite a bit of detail about Progesterone for men. A must read.

So now I’m a bit worried that Progesterone could be potentially interfering with our PFS recovery after reading this.
This is the part that stood out the most:

Progesterone is also the most potent known inhibitor of the enzyme 5-alpha-reductase, which converts testosterone into dihydrotestosterone (DHT). DHT is a known cause of male pattern balding, prostatic hyperplasia, and prostate cancer. By blocking 5-alpha-reductase, progesterone promotes higher levels of testosterone in your body.

While I agree that we should have the proper ratio of Prog to T/E, isn’t our primary issue that Fin has damaged 5ar enzymes?
Just being logical here, not argumentative. I would think that using Progesterone could possibly be the same as using Finasteride all over again, thus the mini crashes. And no evidence of any full recoveries that I know of.

Logically, I would think that boosting 5ar is what we need the most. ??? right?
It just seems so counter intuitive that Prog could help if it’s a known potent inhibitor.

I also read this but If you look at lights and all the others the big thing that stood out to me was they all started to shed again, and so have I with the itchy head which tells me that DHT is now being processed again, not blocked as with Fin and also after my crash as I never lost another hair.
You have to remember we are not normal.
Answer to other question on 5HTP I cycle it I take time of every month about a week.
The reason for the chinese herbs is I think damage has been done to the prostate, although the better orgasms on this protocol tells me this is getting better as this is where the pleasure comes from it is still not as good, so I think this will help clear the prostate and move things along.
I will let everyone know as I should have these in about 10 days.
I have tried everything to get better I am like a man possessed, there is nothing I have not tried, I will never give in to this or wait around for someone else to come up with answers life is to short. Listen to what your body is telling you, I am so in tune with it now, I sure wont be listening to a Doctor again, they sure as hell did not listen to me or try and understand what my body was doing to try and help me. Help yourself, the only way.

Gazzaa you said to me that you don’t need viagra and other things like that anymore although you said your erection is noot perfect yet. Do you still hold this benefit you said to me in PM? Do you feel an increase in energy, drive to do things? Do you feel you’re improving or got stuck? Why don’t you try DIM EOD? Which chinese herb will you take? Sorry for the many questions I’m trying to understand better where you are now.

Hi Brazilanguy. Yes the benefits are getting better very slowly, I have better energy and feel like doing more, erections are good and bad you kinda go good days bad days. I don’t take DIm as it makes me cold like it’s affecting my thyroid function as does eating loads of broccoli and cabbage. The chinese herbs are known to clear out blockages in the tubes inside the prostate of any calcification which I’m sure there is. I still feel like my thyroid function needs to improve but hopefully that will come, I have had some days of feeling like I’ve warmed up. I wish I could help but I’m still in the early stages. But my gut tells me this is doing something positive so I will stick with it. I will let everyone know how the herbs go.
