I am pretty sure your hair loss is Telogen effluvium hair loss, do the hairs have a tiny white bulb at the end of it?
Why do you think so?
i got massive hairloss from trying progesterone cream,i previously posted earlier last year that i thought the hair was growing back as i had loads of short hairs sprouting from my scalp, actually these hairs were ones that had snapped off due to the hair becoming very brittle from using the cream, the hair i lost has not grown back, hairloss more or less stopped in its tracks after i crashed until i tryed the cream last year, now i have a lot less hair and still no further forward,be very careful waht you put into your body,i personally think taking more hormones is crazy, ive messed with hormones a handfull of times in my life,i took steroids when i was 19 and got gyno, tried fin in my late twenties and got pfs, tried progesterone last year and got massive hairloss, blurry vision, ball ache, the shakes, will i ever learn?..
I will reaffirm that my sexual health is at 100% from taking progesterone for 2 months - the improvements were very noticeable and I don’t even think about having a problem with my dick anymore.
Mentally not quite ‘normal’ but so so close - teetering on the edge.
My improvements came in waves with highs and lows with a gradual upward path.
Wouldn’t even post on this forum if I didn’t feel I needed to share such dramatic changes in my health.
Finatruth, they have little white bulbs, yes. I just read about telogen loss though, and it says it mostly occurs on the crown, mine is more prominent in the temples. I’m literally losing 150+ hairs a day from there. 10 at a time type of shit. I could live with that, he’ll, I’d welcome it if it meant I was getting better, but I just don’t feel it yet.
Would there be any benefit from using pregenolone cream rather than the pills?
Are you still on the progesterone, if not, how long have you been off? thanks for sharing all this, am finishing with some other protocols and will give this a try.
Good morning everyone,
Just wanted to let everyone know that I will be giving this a shot. I do no have any Segeline at the moment but wanted to get started right away so I substituted Mirapex (pramipexole) to take care of the prolactin side effects of progesterone.
Here are my medications and brief summary,
Have been an active cyclist since 2007 including racing during my college and grad school years. In 2009 I took “Hammer PSA CAPs” because I began to experience frequent urination which i thought was from cycling (contains SP and Stinging Nettle Root). Those did solve that one symptom, so I continued taking them for about a year, developed ED symptoms and went to the doctor late 2009, found out I had a high PSA count and a high TSH (6.0) and was put on synthroid (another poison) and Dutastride to lower PSA. Took the duta for a week and sides got worse so I stopped taking it and continued on the synthroid. Fast forward to 2013 and 2014 and have the same symptoms of frequent urination and lack of libido, emotional blunting/brain fog and because of synthroid weight gain. Started on T3 only medication in August 2013 and have felt much better on it, dropped a little weight but more importantly fat and regained some muscle. Recent blood tests show a 736 T level and 21.9 E level. Cortisol numbers are all low except in the morning. So after researching prostate problems etc online in different forums (Yourbrainonporn being one of them). I’ve decided to try reseting my body via Late’s protocol and the no PMO for 90 days program. I know that’s two things at once but they seem to have different effects.
Here is my protocol:
Progesterone Creme: 5 mg per day rubbed on neck
Mirapex: .25 mg per day in AM (reduce Prolactin) might switch to PM because it makes me tired (I’ve used it in the past)
DIM: 400 mg per day to control estrogens
T3: 100MCG per day spaced out
Vitamin D: 5000 MG
Vitamon C: 1000 MG
Magnesium: 500 Mg
Fish oil: 3600 MG
I’ll check in every Thursday over the next 3 to 4 months with progresses and updates.
Week 1: First day on the Mirapex, at work and very drowsy, I could take a nap right now. No reaction to the progesterone cream until I took my thyroid medication around 8am, then I felt warm all over. I live in Wisconsin so it is about 15F outside and usually I get the shivers very easily in the morning from riding in a cold car for 25 minutes to work and scrapping everything off (I don’t let it heat up, start and go). Despite the drowsiness I feel, some what sharp, not like normal, and it could be attributed to the excitement of trying something new. Feel free to ask questions and comment.
WE need to wake up people. This is where the answer lies. We have 1) the most sound medical rationale of why this condition exists (as I have provided all the studies previously) and 2) MULTIPLE people claiming near 100% recovery after using low dose progesterone. Again, I truly believe this horrible syndrome is self limiting, perhaps taking even 10 years to resolve but I think this can speed up the process. I haven’t been doing this protocol because I have seen immense improvement in my condition after the 1.5 year mark, but I truly believe this is the answer.
Btw- the concurent thread about oxidative stress gaining interest, well unopposed estrogen/estrogen domiance/low progesterone/adrenal fatigue all create high oxidative stress. I have always felt so strongly about this theory. That finasteride can insidiously destroy progesteone receptors in the brain shifting the ratio in favor of estrogen, then the adrenal glands go into overdrive trying to compensate to this and produce too much cortisol, burns out the adrenal glands.
It sounds so strange but I am clearly improving overtime so I am a little nervous to do this protocol but I feel it’s the answer for all of us.
Robbo- you indicated you had a horrible experience with it but what’s interesting is you had many of the symptoms of the adrenal crash or like most of our first crash off propecia. Too much progesteone will actually do the exact opposite. I’ll post some interesting info below.
One more thing, Dr Jacobs said my numbers represent something of a pseduo Cushing’s syndrome (not cushings since he ruled out adrenal tumor) what is pseudo Cushing’s syndrome; an adrenal disorder!
Don’t want to hype progesterone, but since I started it again 2 weeks ago my sleep has definitely become deeper. I will stick with this protocol for some months and see how it works. Btw. the progress is not tremendous, but slow and steady. To see if this works for you, you should use progesterone at least 2 weeks.
Finatruth, I don’t remember, have you ever tried Hydrocortisone? I tried it March 2013 and felt some pretty good improvement for about a month, but also gained about 15 pounds even while XC skiing EOD. I had some crazy dreams while on that stuff, one night I even woke up so scared I had to walk out of our condo building because my dream freaked me out, luckily my wife came after me and calmed me down. I probably ramped up too quickly on HC but it’s an interesting hormone to try out especially if your cortisol numbers are so messed up. You can get HC cream at almost any store (even the dollar Tree) in a 1% cream. It’s usually used for allergies, bites and scratches.
who needs to wake up exactly? I don’t understand
Are you not getting it. This thread has detailed 3 people who have claimed near complete recovery with progesterone, read older threads as well. The answer lies in this and adrenal issues we face. This forum is so frustrating, I can see why people don’t want to return and help out others.
ok but what “people” are you talking about that need to “wake up”? Is there some group of people in this thread that you feel are out to prove all of this wrong? Who is out to get us? Please explain
Fina you’ve already stated yourself you don’t want to take progesterone, now you’re ranting at no-one in particular because the rest of the board isn’t taking it up?
Post those studies again, with references to specific reasoning, because outside of anecdotal evidence I see no reason why supplementing with progesterone will help. I’m open to the possibility but theres very little to back this up.
Dannyfc- no, I’m not posting again. Look at my previous posts under “other studies” I have written in detail about this ad nauseam. If you feel like it you can also search google scholar using terms progesterone receptor and
“Progesterone Inhibits basal and gonadotropin-releasing”

So suppression of LH and FSH is a good thing? Don’t be daft. Progesterone amplifies estrogen, it decreases free testosterone, it’s effectively an anti-androgen. Yes it may have positive impact on depressive symptoms, but it’s not going to directly treat the root cause.
You think this is about testosterone lol!! Come on, wake up. I feel like this forum is back to 2006. You realize there are individuals with perfect even highish testo and free testo ranges and suffer identical symptoms?
