Progesterone treatment?

How many people actually implemented light at the end’s protocol? I mean took PROGESTERONE AND SELEGELINE FOR AT LEST 5 MONTHS? I ask this because it seems like a lot of people just went ahead and tried progesterone for a few days and then are commenting on its effectiveness, whether it helped them or not. You can’t take someone’s recovery protocol and then modify it to whatever you think in your mind may help and expect the same results.

anyone else experiencing accelerated hair loss from using progesterone cream??? mine has been going thin extremely slowly for around 9 years but recently since using progesterone cream my scalp has been tingling and my hair seems to be thinning rather fast, how is this possible???

robbo, check the hairs. Is there a white bulb at the end of the hair? If so this is a telogen hair and is not associated with MPB, but rather hormonal. Is your sexual functioning improving as your hair shedding increases? This could be monumental Robbo.

Are you sure? I thought the only reason it wouldn’t have the bulb is if the hair just broke off. Why wouldn’t hair lost via MPB have the bulb? It’s falling out the same way.

yup, unbelieveable misconception on this board. When you go bald (MPB) excessive DHT shrinks the hair follicle, the hair follicle continues to get smaller and smaller, a process called minaturization. The hairs actually become finer and finer, smaller and smaller over time. I think if more people understood telogen effluvium and hormonal hair shedding we would be a lot further along with our research into what this drug did.

Please explain how understanding tellogen effluvium would put us further along with our research. Especially considering that no one here actually contribute to the research other than by donating money, which it seems like not many people are doing anyways.

Well that certainly makes me feel a lot better about the redonkulous hair loss I’ve been experiencing the last few months. Hopefully it grows back as you say. That’s actually been a big source of stress on top of all the PFS shit.

As for the topic of this thread, I fully plan to run a course of prog + sel when I feel my current arc of progress plateau. Right now I’m too scared, but I imagine at some point I’ll hit a wall with my progress and feel like I have nothing to lose. I will absolutely update everyone with my progress when that happens.

Well, I’m no expert, but my hairs always had a white bulb at the end before finasteride and I SURELY was getting bald. The hairs were becoming thinner and smaller, as you said and is expected in male pattern baldness, but they had the white bulb.

So i’ve completed exactly 1 week on the progesterone and (Turmeric+Black Pepper - they inhibit MAO-A and MOA-B - naturally). I have been putting a teaspoon of cream on everyday…about 5ml of cream which has the equivalent of 100mg of progesterone. Sometimes i have put the cream on all at once and sometimes i have split it up half morn, half night.

After 1 week, i have made no progress, in fact i feel worse than i did when i didn’t take the progesterone - I have lost all control that i had gained in my penis and now it i cannot feel it again.

Week 2 begins tomorrow. Hopefully i will notice some change.

Hugh

Progesterone is a feminizing hormone… I’d suggest if you are feeling worse, not to use progesterone creams.

There’s a reason they give progesterone to sex offenders to kill their libido. Do some research on it.

Yes, I also felt worse on progesterone when i took it 5 straight days. however…wait for it…wait for it…I bounce back better each time. I have full sensitivity in my penis for the last month, along with great feeling orgasms, also night time and morning erections. I also have had a huge libido for a month.

no sexual improvements since using progesterone,on the first round of it i felt great mentally and full of energy and drive, the second round i only stayed on it 7 days, suffering extreme anxiety at the minute because of work stress etc so going to wait till things get back to normal before trying anymore progesterone, gutted about the accelerated hair loss, aswell as having zero libido i can now see my scalp through my hair when looking in the mirror, lucky me,going to try the selegiline with it next time…

You are taking a massive dose of Progesterone. Knock it down to 5mg. You may even want to lay off the stuff for a couple weeks to let your body sort out the huge amounts you were using.

That’s what I was thinking. I hope I’m wrong.

Yes yes, I have had that too, hair is like hay, look through the mirror can see scalp. I have had that too. Accelerated shedding, tons of hair in my hand., itching scalp…that’s not MPB but I’m done arguing with you people. Good luck to all

Cap, 5mg of progesterone would be 1 quarter of a squirt. Does that seem right? The less progesterone you use the more it engages estrogens. How much are u using finatruth? 5 squirts a day of half a squirt?! Ta!

Progesterone will be anti androgenic in young men and will make you feel terrible. It does however decrease androgen hypersensitivity and will increase progesterone metabolites.

I tried it for a few days and it made me worse whist on it. Note it wouldn’t have such profound effects on normal men. Advise people not to take a large dose. 5mg max.

Upon stopping I had stronger erections, increased frequency of which and improved sleep an energy for 4-5 days. Now I think my androgens are increasing again and are having negative effects. Similar to when I increased them using tribulus.

I noticed nipple puffiness on progesterone that subsided on stopping. Most likely secondary to reduced androgens or potential prolactin increase. It also made me very sleepy as it affects GABA receptors too.

I did not take selegiline or anything to try and maintain androgen levels.

Hey just wanted to contribute with my update…

I am coming to the end of my second 2-week cycle of progesterone cream and looking forward to my second period of 5 days off of it.

I am NOT using SELEGELINE with it because I thought I would give this a try by itself first and see how it turns out. May or may not add SELEGELINE to it in the future but I’d rather check the efficacy of progesterone by itself first just for the sake of it.

I am using 1/4 pump every day before bed applied to my chest.

I can’t say I’m very impressed with the results so far. It has not been drastically bad, but I can’t really say it added much of a positive aspect to my pfs symptoms. This is what I have noticed:

Libido: No particular changes. I do not feel ‘the urge’ to have sex or anything similar. I can get myself to masturbate once or twice a week out of boredom but it is all very automatic still. I have to say (so far) I have had better libido fluctuations in the past from using supps like Tribulus, Creatine, Gotu Kola, than with Progesterone up until now. In fact I think my libido has actually decreased so far on progesterone - maybe my second round being off of it might change that (hopefully).

Mood: No particular changes. I remain on the same pattern of being depressed about my symptoms when I care, and being indifferent/numb/static when I manage to forget about all this for some time. My social anxiety levels remain the same and suicidal thoughts come and go on a daily basis. - nothing different from before using progesterone (so far).

Erections: Nocturnal erections have been more constant and reliable (they happen every night religiously now). Morning wood has also been slightly more constant and reliable (happening mostly every day with varying duration but nothing spectacular). Those 2 kinds of erection were very hit and miss before doing progesterone. However, on the other hand I lost some spontaneous erections that I had been having lately throughout the day when cycling things like tribulus/ginseng/gotu kola/creatine… Erections are good when I watch porn and/or masturbate, but I wouldn’t feel comfortable trying to achieve them without stimulation (which is actually worse than before doing progesterone)

Energy levels: I feel more tired and sleepy all the time lately than I was feeling before progesterone. It has also been really hard to have the energy to ‘get things done’ like go to the gym, do groceries, wash dishes and stuff like that. Have been feeling unusually lazy and lethargic.

Hair: Massive shed. Not sure if it was brought upon by progesterone or by the time of the year (i used to have at least one big shedding time per year while on fin and before being messed up on it) or from the fact that I gave a break on minoxidyl use the month before starting progesterone… could be either one of the 3, but I noticed someone else mentioned increased hair loss here while using progesterone, so i guess you can count me in on that statistic as well.

So as you can see my results have been very mixed up until now. My plan is to go off of it for 5 days starting this weekend and seeing how I feel. If the off period doesn’t give me a more clear indication on what to expect from progesterone I will probably not stick to it for very long as the results have simply not been worth the hassle so far. But let’s see. Looking forward to more updates from everyone using it.

I’ve been trying progesterone for about two months now. I did three weeks, stopped for a week, repeated, and am now using intermittently, every other or every third day. I will probably continue for two or three more months, every other day, taking weeks off, per LAtE’s protocol. I use a tiny bit, as little as I could squeeze out, and would a rub on palms, butt, chest or, stomach.

After 2.5 months, I can say that all sides have stabilized, mental sides were clearly much better. Brain fog lifted. Slightly less libido, possibly, but I can’t say for sure. I have had four blood draws since progesterone use. No change. From the four tests, T is still in the 200s, all the t metabolites remain low, and LH and FSH are either low or abnormally low. I had Adiol-G tested one time, which was also low.

My assessment: it didn’t hurt, and has likely been beneficial for the mental sides. No positive impact on sexual function. No change observed in critical hormones.

That’s what the author of this thread did, so if you’re trying to emulate his success it makes sense to use his dosage. Although he also used deprenyl (selegeline), which nobody in this thread is doing. I’m beginning to think perhaps that was what was more responsible for his recovery, along with whatever was occurring naturally. According to his first post: “Deprenyl 2.5 every day - MOIB inhibition revitalises neuro-transmitters involved in Libido, motivation, personality enhancement (ZEST FOR LIFE), emotional responses, focus etc” So perhaps refreshing those neurotransmitters gave the healing process a kick start. Or perhaps it has a synergistic effect with progesterone. Either way, if you want to duplicate his success you should try his exact routine, not half of it. Someone said selegeline was mentioned in the recent conference, so maybe it has some merit. Finally, obviously I am not a doctor and this is all just speculation on my part. Experiment at your own risk.

I was a 9 years user, who has been off for 11 months. I quit cold turkey, and had a complete crash about a week after my last pill. There was an ACUTE stage, of complete inablility to achieve an erection, zero libido etc. The following weeks were giant swings, where I would have libido and solid orgasm/ejaculation to the next day with redder face, back pain, bad headache, and zero sexual function. This was steady and nothing really felt like it was improving for months and months. Around November, I did 5 days of 20 mg of progesterone and stopped because I was less engaged sexually and didnt feel like it was doing anything. 2 weeks later I had a noticeable improvement in sexual function. I went another 2-3 months with no progesterone and then tried it again, this time 5 days with 5 mg of it. Same thing happened, felt libido drop and sexual function sort of bottom out. I will say Progesterone is the only thing I have tried. I have eaten like crap and do not exercise. I have noticed (and of course it may be completely unrelated) I now have morning and nocturnal erections almost every night as well as spontaneous. I have noticed a diminised brain fog which has translated into a massive surge in libido. In fact, for the last 5-6 weeks my libido has been pre-fin. I have a surge and zest again as well. The brain penis connection is there again as well. I have had less leg and testicle pain, less muscle twitches in my calves, less jumpy (i was easly startled for months). Once observaton that is undeniable is that areas on my body are warming up. The back of my wrists, stomach, scrotum, and penis all seem much warmer. It is also undeniable that I have been experiencing more hair shedding TELOGEN EFFLUVIUM. It is a type of general hair thinning associated with stress and often times hormonal changes (sound familiar?) I am NOT balding. My hair is thinner, in some areas more than others. So I dont know what to say to be honest, is it a time factor, was it the progesterone doses? As many of you know, I am a huge proponent that the problem lies in the Progesterone receptor. It is my beleive that there is an imbalance of estrogen to progesterone at the receptor site which has diminished the protective affects of progesterone, and perhaps the conversion to Allo. My gums have deteriorated horribly which in my opinion lends more credence to this, in fact my dentist simply remarked “wow, thats just not normal” Furthermore, I feel very strongly that the information at the Neurosteroid convention will be released soon which should further give us some idea of what is being affected and potentially how to treat it.
