*** Post your Adiol-G (3alpha-androstanediol glucuronide) blood test results

Thats tough to tell, I’ve been popping so much crap. Coulda been anything from hcg/hmg to tribulus.

A doctor agreed to order this test for me, but said that it was provided by Meridian Labs, so I’m afraid it will be an expensive out-of-pocket test.

I noticed that some people reported results from Quest. Does anyone have the test code so that I can run it by my doc?

Thanks!

The CPT code for adiol-g as provided by quest is 82154.

Thanks dubya!

xhorndog, the code that Dubya posted was the code used to identify the Quest test to your insurer, you would use it (or your doctor would) to obtain your insurers permission to run/cover some or all of the test.

The code that Quest itself uses, to identify the test, is 5276X. This should be included on your actual test form in order to help insure that the Quest blood drawing lab runs the proper test.

As an aside, Quest only runs Adiol-G at Nichols lab in southern California, and only runs it once every two weeks on a Tuesday. Thus it may take some time to get the results back - I like mine on a separate test order for that reason.

Thank you to everyone that has run this test. Will try to update the master table soon.

kazman

Much appreciated, thanks for the tip Kazman, got both numbers now, getting tested on Wednesday.

40 had really low 3a-diol-g levels.

When he started testosterone cyp. his 3a-diol-g rose to the top of the range [22.20 ng/ml (3.40 - 22.00)], but he said his sexual function actually got worse.

sorry

Anyone know how long it usually takes Quest to return a value for Adiol-G after they receive the sample? I’ve been waiting 16 days and every other blood test, even the few other ones that were sent to California came back more than a week ago. Quest website said they set up the instrumentation for the test once a week.
The lab that drew the blood said the result is still pending, so I suppose the vile at least made it there.

Its run on Tuesday each week with a turnaround time of 7-12 days, so it kind of depends on what day you got the blood drawn. Say you got it drawn on a Tuesday, its going to get to Quest and just going to sit there until the next Tuesday. Then it takes 7-12 days from then. So, it could take up to 19 days total. The last blood I got drawn was on Wednesday 8/3 and from these calculations I have determined that I won’t have the result for 3-adiol-G until 8/16 - 8/22.

I don’t see how this hormone could reflect 5ar2 only. All DHT in the body is supposed to leave with glucuronic acid and thus turn into this form. It’s not like there’s special DHT coming from 5ar2. It’s the same as 5ar1 activated. If your DHT is high and Adiol-G is low, then it should be good news: more DHT for the body to use. Though, DHT circulating in the blood has no function anymore and is destined to leave the body. T turns to DHT in the target cells where it is needed and used right away.
This is what I have learned so far as a medicine student. I’m not 100% sure.

Guys, please post your testosterone values as well (as stated at the beginning of this thread). Assaying adiol-g without testosterone is simply useless and a waste of money.
