Mens Rea's Battle against PFS.

I’m having similar high pressure ejacs… as well, as a good amount.

I’ve been taking magnesium citrate for weeks with other stuff… So you could be right about the magnesium.

here I am again…I believe Magnesium is crucial. I have recently proposed a theory that our problems originated from elevated histamine levels…Here is on very interesting study of the effect of magnesium on histamine levels in rats

ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/3111814

Very interesting indeed.

I’ve read that people’s magnesium calcium ratios are something like 1:6 where they should be closer to 1:1.

How unbelievable is that? Far too much calcium can cause so many problems. It’s massively overlooked.

These are the ones i take. I believe they are the best you can get. The liquid capsules absorb the best and they are easy to swallow.

I look forward to having taken these for a year. I think the improvement will be even more clear. Well, i hope so.

I’ve noticed an undeniable trend.

When i don’t take sugar my semen is much less voluminous and and healthy looking (i.e. it’s more clear and lumpy). When i resume my normal sugar intake my semen returns to normal (Well, normal for post-fin).

I kept ignoring this as i thought it was ridiculous. But it’s become completely unmistakable.

Can anyone even try explain or speculate what this is?

The only thing i can think is candida. Which is worrying.

you can get tested for candida.

more sugar = more candida. if sugar is making your semen better, then you are saying that more candida is making your semen better?

i personally think the whole candida thing is not what the problem is because people got tested for it and it came back negative.

please stop CAndida BS. this does not exist for us. have you looked at moonman1’s recent report? it is negative.

Just an update for whoever follows this thread.

I rarely think about this forum or finasteride anymore. My “condition” has been stable for a good two years now wherein I would say im 70-75% of my previous self (sexually) but given im 28 years of age, and the fact i probably would have lost 10% anyway, I’m well within normal ranges.

I have a completely normal sex life and performance now. My ejaculate still fluctuates and isn’t what it was but it’s still ok, i guess. I’m definitely down regulated from what i was, and there has been permanent changes to my penis etc, but my condition is stable and normal really.

I would love to get back to my old self but realistically it doesn’t affect me anymore and im getting on with my busy life.

I do worry about the condition of my prostate though. I know finasteride has damaged me but i also know my body has recovered as much as it possibly can and I am fortunate to be able to life without this having destroyed my life like many other people have had to endure.

I take no treatment or anything. I do take 50-100mg of zinc pic capsules when i fancy a sexual boost and that definitely works especially in terms of volume of semen.

I hope everyone is keeping well.

thats good does your libido recovered

Thanks for the update. Wishing you the best.

Hi guys just checking in with you all…

I’m good. Great in fact. The reason I checked is in fact I just ejaculated straight over my shoulder - it’s the second time today I’ve ejaculated too. Sorry to be gross but I know this is a mature forum. Strangely this randomly made me think how I’ve come (no pun intended) compared to back in 2010/2011. A nice feeling.

I’ll never be my 19 year old sexually charged student that I was but I’m fairly sure I wouldn’t have been at 30 years of age anyway

I believe I’m pretty close to having made full and fully stable recovery.

I say close because once in a while I’ll get prostrate ache and also my penis definitely lost mass when I crashed (I had pains - I believe it was cell death of some cells in my penis). When flaccid it’s more floppy than it used to be. If you haven’t experienced this you’ll probably not relate but I’m 100 percent sure this was PFS.

Anyway I’ve been fine for a number of years and have a healthy sex life. I’ve been married 8 months.

I’ve always said I wouldn’t forget this forum upon recovery. I’ve always felt certain people have did that and as a result there are less recovery stories than there should be (and more bad stories of desperate people needing help). This creates a disproportionately grim picture.

I believe this thread should now be in the recovery section to give people a perspective and hope.

I have job secret. I took zinc. Only take it occasionally now though. I take berocca every day but don’t it’s necessarily connected.

Time is my healer.

Nice to hear some good news, with so much bad recently. Congrats on your recovery. Are you saying zinc was your cure? How much did you take?

Congratulations buddy. We talked a few times via PM in my darkest times, and I’ll always appreciate that. Couldn’t have happened to a better person. Wish you all the best, and I can’t wait to be on that other side with you.

Add my congratulations too. You made me involuntarily spout out “Fucking Hell”, when I read about your power shot over your shoulder. Gives us all hope that we can get back there too and don’t just have our memories.

Sorry - I meant to say I’ve got no secret. I took zinc but I think it may just helped expedite the natural recovery process.

I also attribute my progressive recovery to less alcohol binges. I think this was causing Estrogen spikes which obviously isn’t helpful to a PFS sufferer.

Time, patience and I believe living a normal life is what did it for me. Engaging in sexual activity with my now wife definitely helped. Real sex is definitely different than masturbation, even when I found myself very unresponsive to porn I always got a better spark from real life intimacy. When I would have had sex etc I would feel the next morning a surge of libido a few years ago. I definitely think these bursts pushed me further in the right direction , slowly but surely. I really believe the body responds and teaches itself / learns to redress imbalances if you pave the way for it. Obviously everyone has different starting points.

I also believe people over extending and pressuring their body to kick start is ultimately the wrong approach. This creates false dawns as temporary reactions aren’t sustainable for the above reasons. Excessive exercise etc to a down regulated body surely is stressing an already stressed endocrine system.

Anyway guys I’ll keep coming back to see how you are all doing.

No problem man, feeling any better?

Much better man. Heading in the right path. Thanks again.

Congratulations Mens Rea.

You were one of the first people I talked to 2 years ago, and you were very helpful. I am also very recovered fortunately. My shoulder is still virgin, but I know I will be there too…

Seriously, thanks for sharing and helping. Enjoy your life, you deserve it.

(By the way, I have not drunk alcohol for 9 months now so it seems teetotalism is key undoubtedly. Regarding the rest, I agree with you 100%. Trying sex, even when you have ED and not stressing your body also cornerstones).

Hi folks

Just doing my occassional “check-in” - i certainly haven’t forgotten about this forum or the people on it!

Hope everyone is keeping well.

I’m much the same as previous, thankfully. I’m quite confident my body has reached a stable state in which is now comfortably rests. Which I’m happy with.

I don’t think PFS is directly, if at all, related to gut-health but i do think gut health is a very important concept for general health. I took a programme called Zymprove which is a very strong probiotic and now im continuing my probiotics by taking a different tablet form probiotic daily. I would recommend this.

I’m also drinking alot of water and have cut out most sugary things from my diet. And im eating alot of fruit, especially blueberries which are a super food with anti-toxins. Amazing little treats!

Again, these are more things for general health. I thought i could never do it but now its easy. I hated drinking much water and now my body craves fresh water! It’s amazing. You train your body to either have good or bad habits - it’s our responsibility to make sure it craves the good stuff. In the past i’ve felt physical addiction to coca-cola, sweet things etc but now I don’t.

Other than that i continue to take vit d3 every few days, aswell as cycle zinc and magnesium.

I see in another thread Dr Crisler (who I would respectfully question on his medical credentials but he does seem to want to help) said that PFS patients have a tendancy to “jack rabbit” between treatments. I think there is some truth in this. How can your body recover from a crash if you keep chopping and changing things? I would urge a simplistic (not too extreme) but consistent approach to PFS patients - help the body help itself!

Hope this helps anyway folks. If i can be of any assistance just fire me a message.

congrats man on your your recovery, i am new here, just 3 month off fin, you once mentioned that you have penile tissue changes can you tell me what were the changes, i mean was there a bend or dark veins, i have dark veins and is it gone for you?

sorry for bad english

Hello Mens Rea,

I would like to direct message you but can’t find a way to do it. New to the forum, 4 months off Fin. I have bad PFS and I am looking for advice to cure myself in anyway possible. I noticed in previous threads and replies you made that it looked like you tried a lot of different methods including some drugs. Did any of that stuff work for you? If there is a way I could get in touch with you and ask a few questions that would be great. Thank you.
