Low Basal NO/NOx Levels and Proposed Regimen

UPDATE

My confidence that i am on the way of full recovery rises even more. I have consistently great morning erections despite large Barometric pressure drops (had one yesterday but didn’t affect me). Constipation not there any more. Skin most of the time oily.

I have complete lack of side effects (BrainFog, Nerve Pain on Neck/Waist, Irregular Heart beat) if i do not stress myself too much mentally and physically. Previously i had side effects no matter what i did. If i do stress myself then the side effects are barely noticeable but they are there.

Regimen

Morning: T4 64 mcg, Ashwagandha,TMG,P-5-P, Metafolin, MethylB12, Vit.C , Lion’s Mane, Magnesium, Selenium, half dose of Zinc/Cu. / Mix of Spinach/Rocket Salad 50 grams

Lunch : Mix of Spinach/Rocket Salad 50 grams

Around 16:00 ALCAR + CoQ10

Dinner : Mix of Spinach/Rocket Salad 50 grams

Night before bed : Ashwagandha

Note that i stopped Clomid because i needed to check where my Free T is but I am sure it is normal given the way i feel. Note also that i do not take any D-Ribose or ENADA NADH. I will need more time to check out about efficacy of these two supplements. Make sure you get Nitrate-rich food every 8 hours and right before you go to sleep so that you have good Basal NO/NOx levels throughout the night.

Good to hear your making progress. Please keep us updated.

Will do Mark.

I was not sure but it appears that i am getting tired more easily, i am heat intolerant and i lost some extra pounds over the past 10 days. From what i can tell i must -i’m hoping to- have turned hyperthyroid. I will go for blood test tomorrow and if i am hyperthyroid, this means that the functionality of my HPA axis is/has being restored. This will be amazing news.

I will have results in a couple of days from now and will let you Guys know.

Mario have you had face changes? If it so did you recover it?

What sort of face changes? Can you be more specific?

One thing i noticed is that my neck probably is larger than it used to be but i am really not sure.

Collagen loss on your cheek and under the eyes. And small jaw.

No, never had these problems.

Just returned from the lab. I will have FT3, FT4, TSH checked.

I have subclinical hypothyroidism probably for the past 7 years -probably even more- and taking medication T4 62 mcg.

If TSH is very low then that means that Thyroid function has/is been restored and with it, HPA Axis. This will be an additional evidence that NO/NOx may be the missing link to full recovery.

I will have results on the 28th of July.

BTW Has anyone else tried/trying the regimen? How do you feel? Please let us know.

Haha, hello powerhouse! I haven’t tried the regiment yet (or methylation to that matter) but since no-one didn’t bring this up for some reason: Remember that we have 1 still-recovered member from eating spinach 200g every day, user “tryingnottoworry”, who assumed that the culprit was chronically low production of dolichol. I think he pm’d me earlier this year or later last year that he is still doing good, getting kids, married etc.

Just FYI that this has possibly good credentials & that maybe combining methylation protocol with spinach/beetroot eating will yield better results than just spinach eating like in original protocol. Original protocol had only 1 recovery and few temporary improvements but it could be different with this.

mariovitali, while I appreciate your contagious excitement, maybe we should keep on focusing on getting people on this and have longer-term surveillance of your symptoms, right?

Can somebody ELI5 how this works?

(Explain like I’m 5)

Thanks that helps. Not sure I believe but it’s interesting.

Yes i felt the same but the more i read about NO and its functions the more logical this theory looks to me. Please give the regimen a try, you have nothing to loose.

May do but what confuses me on this is that studies are indicative of an androgen pathway or receptor cause. How does this theory hold up in that case?

I really don’t know. Talking about “androgen pathway” is rather vague so if you can please elaborate or -even better- please send me the links of the studies .There may be an involvement of dopamine receptors but again i am not sure. If you read my messages you will see that i talk about a “vicious circle”. It was as if my body was able to use androgens (and perhaps dopamine) up to a threshold level. When this level was exceeded i was crashing and then this process would start all over again until the next crash.

Please note that the regimen includes

-Methylation support (Metafolin, P-5-P, Methylcobalamin,TMG)
-Cortisol Control (with Ashwagandha)
-BH4 Support (Vitamin C)
-NO/NOx production (Rocket/ Spinach)

I do not know how/why but this regimen was the only regimen that stopped this vicious circle so there was no crash. This is when i realized that something is different and something is changing. When i then found out that i am not affected by abrupt weather changes (please search my posts for more details on this), that was yet one more event that has not happened before with any supplement combination or regimen. When i saw these two things happening i said to myself “it’s over”.

Nitric Oxide is being used for so many functions. Perhaps there are even more functions which we still do not know. Plus, i remember reading that the fact that there is a secondary pathway for NO Production apart from the L-Arginine pathway (through Nitrates) is a clear sign of the necessity of proper NO production (nitrate pathway being a backup) in the body.

May be this is wishful thinking, may be not. So please invite as many people as possible to try the regimen so that we can know ASAP whether this regimen really helps or it’s just another snake oil

Yeah I understand, you must be feeling like on the top of the world atm. Sorry if I came out patronizing.

I think I’m gonna do the veggies part now without the methylation. I can’t really jump on methylation protocol right now but I’m definitely interested to see if it has any effect effects in itself, now that I apparently can consume veggies better now. It didn’t work at the beginning of my PFS (i did tryingnottoworry’s protocol) but things can be different now that I am in much better health.

Also lettuce? Seriously? Your regular run-of-the-mill market lettuce has that much NO? (I thought that veggie was absolutely useless in terms of nutrient value?!)

In pretty much eating aroubd 200g of green veggies a day, divided among lettuce, spniach and rucula…
Its my 5th day and nothing extreme to report.
I do wake up with wood though, which is something that wasnt always happenibg before… I will faster attribute this to my increased sun exposure though…

The effect is synergistic since D3 induces Nitric Oxide Synthase

Will post relevant link from pubmed later tonight

If so then i must emphasize that i moved from dark belgium to sunny portugal again just a few days ago, after 2 years and half

Here is the study :

Some clarifications regarding my previous post :

You will recall that in the Methylation regimen, NAC administration is not suggested. Why? If too much NO is the problem then NAC should be administered.

Hydroxocobalamin is a potent NO Inhibitor. If Nitric Oxide is bad for us then why did i have neurological side effects with Hydroxocobalamin? This could be something anecdotal so i would really like to know how others here felt with Hydroxocobalamin.

If people following the NO/NOx regimen -which raises Nitric Oxide- feel much better then something is not right with the Methylation block theory.

@xptriado,@Jonson

The first thing i noticed with this protocol was consistently great morning wood despite barometric changes during the night.
