I’m also intrigued about this and the constant body retreating. Apologies for the bombardment of questions JN, but as you can appreciate we are all very excited by your progress. Did you have this and did it resolve also following the above 18 points?
JN, since you have made quit the recovery, but are still pushing to get to 100%…you should look into HBOT treatment.
This list is comical. Finasteride caused our problems, read the studies man. I probably had most things on that list pre finasteride, yet sufferered from no problems. Took finasteride then had a multitude of problems, even merck now admit there drug causes ongoing problems.
Tim, I don’t think anyone is saying that Finasteride isn’t part of the problem.
Hey,
I have limited time at the moment, and can only reply to Mens Rea’s question re, dexamethasone/prednisolone
I think a lot of guys here suffer adrenal fatigue (often low cortisol +/- DHEA +/- aldosterone). So yes, it make sense that guys report some sort of improvement with dex or pred. Thing is tho, that one’s intrinsic ability to make one’s own corticosteroids (eg) cortisol, will be suppressed over time, and one will become steroid dependent (dependent on meds).
May I venture that the best way to heal adrenal fatigue is TO REMOVE THE ONGOING CAUSE of the adrenal fatigue. I think the main ONGOING causes of adrenal fatigue in our population (and in the the population of chronic fatigue sufferers) is parasites, food allergies and intolerances, yeast and fungal infections, pyroluria, mineral and vitamin deficiencies. These factors wear out one’s adrenal gland.
To be honest, I think adrenal fatigue is THE massive player of all the 18 points, and literally all of the other 17 points cause adrenal fatigue. And no, even if one has a high cortisol reading, adrenal fatigue can still be present.
I am excited to write something about the investigations to perform to TREAT THE CAUSE of our persistent suffering.
I don’t think it’s as hard as everything thinks it’s going to be.
Off to play tennis for the 2nd time today after lying in the park soaking up the Vitamin D!
Take care
JN
Looking forward to reading your insights into investigations…
thanks
yes JN, please take some time to elborate on the 18 points! <3
This is exactly the right attitude IMO.
Back to JN’s theory, the Pyroluria is very interesting in deed. So is the chronic food allergies. I’ve always known I was allergic to wheat especially but could never stay on the wheat free diet long enough to notice any difference. That will be changing very soon.
Cheap pyroluria testing by post in the UK for anyone interested:

I have ‘liked’ Dr Emerson on facebook and he sounds like a fantastic doctor. Unless the care is relatively expensive, you cannot go wrong seeing a doctor like this, if they don’t cure your PFS issues then at least you will be striving for otherwise optimum health.
Getting it?
I might do. I do fit some of the symptoms but most recently i decided to abandon looking into things like that alone because i very much doubt they have anything to do with my severe post finasteride crash.
jn could you please tell me how bad the numbness was for you and for how long, and what type of recovery have you made in this area.
Hes recovered… what do you think that means sir…
a recovery without sensativty returning to normal is of no use to me as my numbess is so bad i could neaver have sex if i was the most sexually frustrated man on earth. I dont want my libido back if i cant do anything to satify it.
My question to JN was how bad was the numbeness and how has this improved. he might have had minor numbness then recovered and so numbess did not worsen. For me it has gotton so bad i am looking for some hope.
I emailed Dr Emerson asking whether he could recommend a practitioner in the UK. He simply said that my options were very limited and that was the end of that.
I would love to see Dr Myhill but she is out in Wales, plus i can barely afford blood tests let alone treatment.
She has been mentioned before; one of only a couple doctors in the UK that aim to find the root cause of illness and treats thyroid/ cortisol in the correct matter. Like others, she is being hounded by the GMC. I would urge anyone in the UK that is spending there money on appointments with Bouloux or any other expensive private GP to contact her.
Does anyone know of a good supplement that combines zinc, magnesium and b6? i can’t find anything on i herb.
I take zinc picolinate, magnesium citrate and niacin separately at the moment and this year i intend to keep things minimal as far as treatment goes, so an all in one supplement would be fantastic.
This ‘B right’ formula from Jarrow may interest some of you

I was thinking of using that along with zinc picolinate and then switching to magnesium spray rather than tablet citrate. JN, is the magnesium spray you use very sticky? does it sting when you apply it? i bought some ages ago that was a nightmare for those two things.
Stinging means you are VERY deficient… I have the spray and It doesnt sting, so I do not think I am deficient…
Do you have a good source to prove that? if you google magnesium spray you will see that it is full expected to sting. In the product description it said that the spray will sting too, so i think your very wrong.
JN, do you take body temperatures? many sufferers have low body temperatures, do you have any views on this?
- I use a high quality magnesium oil daily. I wipe it all over my body. Yes, it stings but I dilute it.
- Zinc picolinate is the best preparation of zinc, to my limited knowledge.
- Please see my previous posts about body temperature. Mine was VERY low. I think most people’s body temps are low, and indicates thyroid/adrenal dysfunction (poorly functioning body engine). I haven’t taken my body temp for a couple of months. And yes, treating one’s low body temperature is CENTRAL to our treatment. It shows that our bodies were put into a ‘survival’ state, a ‘hibernation’ state by finasteride. Our low body temperatures will remain low until the ongoing cause is removed. Treat the cause of the low body temps, and one will get better.
