Back from the doctor’s and as I expected, because my hormones are all within “normal” range the NHS won’t prescribe either testosterone or an AI (like Arimidex). Use of Arimidex for this purpose would be “off label” so the doctor can’t support it. Had a really friendly chat with the doc, he always says “it’s been a pleasure”, presumably this topic makes a break from the mundanity he gets at this time of the year. I said that I understood that he couldn’t put his name to any treatments of this nature, remember the NHS don’t even prescribe Propecia for hair loss so I really don’t blame them and remain fully supportive of all the good the NHS does. He did think the theory behind estrogen dominance made sense, and we agreed that while my hormone levels might look fine, they’re highly unique to an individual. What’s high for one may not necessarily be applicable to another. We also agreed on the principle of hormones acting in a certain ratio; upset that ratio and you may still have libido or other issues, even if isolated hormones look fine.
I suggested I’d try to experiment by myself with the most safest option first and progress from there until I find improvement. With that in mind I think I’ll try tribulus or tongkat ali in higher dose. I will note my findings from that and then progress to buying Arimidex online. If no benefit then I will start to think about testosterone gel/injections. One thing at a time. He did comment that I seemed in higher spirits and I said that’s because I’m excited about these protocols and I also believe that we’re finally being vindicated in studies and the press.
