Update: Cialis is working again. Phew!
A warning to members who wish to take the medication Trazadone.
The VA placed me on trazadone as a sleep aid in May of ‘12, and required me to take an EKG quarterly while I was on it. As others noticed, for the first month or so it gave me better erections and "morning wood’.
Then one morning I was awakened by a painful erection. I tried to masturbate, but it was too painful. I urinated while in the shower(due to trajectory issues) and even the cold water had no effect. this was extremely painful,
I drove to the ER, and was given 8mg morphine IV and 2 tablets of all things, pseudoephedrine. The doc said the urologist on call said that a double dose of pseudoephedrine was the first line drug to combat the priapism. they then waited for the urologist to arrive.
once he got there, I was placed on an EKG, and continuous blood pressure monitoring. I was given 4 more mg of morphine, and given the option of a numbing agent prior to the start. this time I chose no, as the morphine was working.
THe first 2 injections was Intracavernosal phenylephrine (Neo-Synephrine). Remember the penis has 2 chambers and this drug was injected into each side. it was injected slowly (leaving the needle inside) until the side began to soften.5 minutes or so. then a larger needle and a 100cc syringe was used to draw off blood from each side, then a saline flush and then removal of the saline. this was repeated until the blood didnt appear to be clotted. I got 8 injections, 4 a side. if I had chose lidocaine to numb, add 2 more injections. the lidocaine doesn’t make much of a difference as I tried it on the second priapism 2 weeks later.
If you want needles in yer wang, by all means mess with trazadone.
I’m going to try this, since I have cavernous inadequacy and penis pain according to the penile doppler I’ve had done. I’ll start with 50 mg every day before bed I think.
Works well for me.but throws me into anxiety after it metabolises to mcpp
Let me know if the same happens to you
Oh hell no. The MD just prescribed this shit today for sleep problems at 50mg. Guys what is the relief for insomnia, and what is the relief for ED?
Seems risky to me. Some guys even had surgery, because of trazodone caused priapism. In the worst case scenario penis being amputated.I would ask your doctor to change a prescription for a safer alternative.

There are several members of the PSSD community who shared Zadig’s experience with trazodone.
Do you have high estrogen? This is linked to insomnia. I’m currently looking into this as I’ve stopped sleeping. Also look at mirtazapine for sleep.
I never had estrogen tested, and all my bloodwork was from back in December. Everything else was perfectly normal. I’ve developed new symptoms since then, though. I’ve been lowering my carb intake but it seems the best diet protocol is a paleo or ketogenic diet, very hard to implement and stay consistent with.
