are u off the drug yet or not?
Yes I totally quit about a month ago. Everything seemed fine at first, but I’m just wondering what’s going on now?
Read FAQ at top of site, get bloodwork.
…
Sure, if you want to pay for it:
propeciahelp.com/forum/viewt … 5058#15058
Otherwise you’re going to need to convince your doc.
You can also go for the shortlist: propeciahelp.com/forum/viewt … =3534#3534
If doc doesn’t believe you, print out the consent form from Irwig and show that to her, or visit Dr Crisler, Shippen or Goldstein.
If you are unwilling to speak to your doctor, who may be in a position to help, you are being very foolish. You won’t know until you ask.
I already need to see them about something else down there, I just think there going to think I’m going barmy.
Would you not advise I give it ‘some’ time before I do anything yet? I was thinking about leaving it 2-4 weeks trying to forget about it, and if problems persist then do the tests with the doctor.
Sure, that is also an option. It’s really your call.
why not consult with Dr. Shippen or Dr. Crisler…whoever is closer…These other doctors have NO F*CKING CLUE man. I’ve dealt with alteast 8…complete waste of time…
Advice, talk to shippen or dr. crisler…they are the best…
I’m based in the UK, so I can’t really see any of them.
Exactly man, you saw 8 doctors, I already know that I will come up against a brick wall with finasteride.
Thanks for the advice, I’m going to try and give it some time. Last night was crazy, my penis felt so numb and there were points where my arms and veins felt so tight and I got blood rush to the head. I’m preying these things aren’t due to finasteride, this is so much worse than hairloss.
I have decided that because it’s only 1 month after dropping fin I’m going to try and just take my mind off things and see if anything gets better naturally before I start worrying myself sick.
Are there any other people doing the same? or better anyone that recovered naturally over time. I currently take Iron, Green tea and fish oil vitamins but I doubt they will have any effect, and I think I will also drop rogaine just incase that’s doing anything.
honestly if your having trouble - to the extent of no longer having morning erections - i would definitely get bloodwork.
Morning erections are back, but they fluctuate. My worry is the lack of feeling down there at times, and the weird feelings oh and that one time where after ejaculation I had red streaks down my penis tip. BUT, at the moment I am getting morning erections and I can get hard and ejaculate so I want to just try and see how the next month goes and try not to scare myself.
I wish i never touched the stuff man, everyone over on the hair loss forums say things like there getting no morning erections but there fine with it, just like the watery semen, and pass it off like there all normal things to happen that can be tolerated.
So yeah, I’m definitely going to try and relax for a while but if anyone here has any sort of tips, or supplements which I could use please inform. I still don’t even want to believe it’s the FINCAR that’s causing it, the only other things I have done in the past 5 months is ecstasy, mephedrone and antibiotics and a few anti-inflammatory pills. But my symptoms match up with so many of the stories on here!
…
Joe, do not despair. With time, things do tend to improve for most men. Taking action, drawing awareness to this problem and helping get research into it, will help you draw strength and rechannel your energy from this ordeal.
The new side effects you mention do not sound Finasteride related, especially if they are alleviated by going to the washroom.
If you are able to get hard and maintain erection on your own or while with your girl, this could be psychological, or could be related to Finasteride use, particularly if you are unsure yourself of wether your problems are due to Finasteride (most men here KNOW 100% the difference in themselves before/after drug). However, the aspects of losing the erection or loss of libido are familiar to many who have prioblems from the drug.
I recommend you get bloodwork as discussed previously, and see Dr. Pierre-Marc Bouloux in the UK who has other Finasteride patients:

Also – if you have not already, PLEASE participate in Dr. Irwig’s study so he can report on this problem, so we can all get the medical and research attention we need to investigate and solve the problem: viewtopic.php?f=33&t=3497
Thanks.
JOE 91, do not dispair. It seems like every week we collectively learn a litle more about what causes this, amd what treatments may mitigate it. In addition, more and more doctors are openly discussing post finasteride syndrome, and treatment options, primarily based on superphysiological testosterone levels, with or without estradiol control, are emerging. Eventually medical researchers will actively seek us out once they realize we will never expire of prostrate cancer (the latter is my opinion only).
If you have the funds, see Dr. Hertoghe in Belgium. He will help. There are several other English poeple here who may be able to suggest closer doctors.
First step will be to get testoerone, LH, FSH and estradiol levels, see the link at the top of the page.
Joe I would just get those tests from your gp just now and forget about private docs unless you’re really in trouble, Hertoghe is expensive and goes straight to TRT in his treatment. You probably haven’t truly crashed or you would know about it, concentarte on good diet, rest and exercise. Ther’s a uro in London called Minhas if you’re worried about sexual sides, he’s part of UCLH in London, which has the biggest andrology dept in the UK, and has seen other guys with this.
Thanks for the advice guys. I feel better now, in that I don’t feel like my whole body is shutting down along with being totally numb down there. I do have this odd feeling as if there’s something running through my body still, and my shoulders ache a lot just much minor then when it felt like I was crashing. I managed to have sex with the person I am seeing a couple of times over the last two nights, one observation about my sexual functioning that stands out is that there are less sensations in my penis, but i can get off, and it’s as if my penis fills with blood and feels very rubbery, one night I actually had a very hard erection that felt like a wooden stick as if blood was jammed or something, it was good but it didn’t feel right combined with less sensations. Is this possibly something to do with circulation?
I am booked into the doctors tomorrow and I’m going to go along with my older brother as I let him know I was having a few problems. Is there any other things I could do aside from making sure my diet is right and I am doing exercise? I take zinc, multi vits and omega fish oil and I am about to buy some magnesium supplements. Would it be better to avoid sex/ masturbation for a while?
Sorry about the details above guys, but I need to use them to give you a better idea of what’s going on.
I’m going to the doctor’s in 40 minutes. I woke up with a weak morning erection, my penis feels cold and numb, and totally colourless - even my eczma down there is becoming increasingly inflamed. I am preying this gets better.
