The doctor was a really decent guy, he didn’t totally palm me off. He took me as a normal case, and I didn’t go on about the propecia, i just said I can’t help but link these symptoms to the drug because I had sexual sides very similar while I was on it. He offered me blood tests and said we will see where we go from there, and mentioned using viagra if there are still problems.

I guess if it is indeed post finasteride syndrome I have like many on here then the appointment wasn’t very useful at all, but at the end of the day I can’t do anything else now so I’m going to try my best to relax and give it time. The blood tests are next week. I’m hoping that haveing some problems two months after quitting doesn’t mean it’s likely that I’m permanently damaged and I may just need more months. The only thing that really worries me is the numb/ cold flaccid penis.

Does anybody have visible signs of problem on the penis here? I have a distinct redness at the top of my penis tip, and it often becomes patchy, it doesn’t seem to be an outer skin problem, more so inside the penis rip. I was thinking this may be a probem with circulation/ blood vessels? I’m definitely going to mention this to the doc next time i see him, it has developed as soon as I have been having these problems, along with what I thinkkk are pearly penile papsules.

Right guys, I’m gearing up for my blood tests tomorrow and I will be discussing as much as possible with my GP. As far as I know, my worst side effects are all to do with my genital area, I am having trouble sleeping and odd thinking patterns but I don’t want to complicate things with my doctor yet. So should I ask to see a Urologist rather than a Neurologis/ endo for now?

I am feeling very much like when I believe I ‘crashed’ or at least partially ‘crashed’ In April, I am hoping this isn’t something that is going to keep re-occuring, as well as my penis being pretty much dead the non sexual sides are becoming much worse. Here is an updated list of symptoms:

Physical non-sexual

. Tingling feeling as well as pronounced aching and heavy feeling in chest/ arms, the mid section of my arms can often feel very weak

. Pins and needles/ total numbness occurs very easily, e.g. playing football my legs often become numb after 20 minutes and I cannot play

. Some sharp but brief sharp pains (0.5/1 seconds) in the underside of arms and in the pelvic region, and general joints in the upper body

. Different coloured stool – often green/ light brown, with a very poor consistency that is hard to flush away

Sexual

. Barely any nocturnal/ morning or spontaneous erections

. Low sex drive – often requiring physical stimulation to become aroused

. Reduced volume of semen, often aches in testicles after one ejaculation, refractory period seems to be lengthened

. Numbness/ lack of sensitivity sometimes even when urinating in the morning/ evening
Visible

. Redness in blotches at penis tip although this could be from eczma

I am booked in for another appointment with my GP on Monday, where I am hoping to be referred to an endo.

Up to yet the supplements that I have tried are ZMA which has worked to help me sleep at night, Tribulus which I think helps the penis a little bit, and it definitely helps when working out, and Yohimbine which I will never touch again, that stuff is powerful. It gave me a rock hard erection for 15 minutes but terrible twitching in my eyes, the shakes and a terrible mood.

You bought the shit from inhouse pharmacy didn’t you? Those kunts ruined my life…

Yeah, I’m beyond upset right now. I don’t know whether it makes a difference if it was propecia from a doctor or FINCAR from inhouse but this has gotten very real.

Fact is we wouldn’t have been given it by a doc, it is not handed out like sweets except in the USA by derms, and is fairly hard to get off GPs.

Then you get these fuckers who sell it without due warning and prey on our naivety. They even flog dutasteride and pretend it’s been FDA approved, yeah it has but for BPH.

Joe you are seriously freaking out it is likely your situation will improve with time, good diet, exercise and maybe supplements. Christ if you had the problems some of us have you wouldn’t be here now.

The problem is not the name (fincar, finpecia, propecia, proscar or whatwever), it’s the active ingredient - finasteride.

Really? Is this what it’s come down to? A dick measuring contest to see who sides are worse? Luckfax, you of all people should not be talking to anyone about “freaking out.” As golf stated in several other posts, you randomly send messages with apparently no point whatsoever, asking questions that can’t be answered. You’re hardly the voice of reason to be telling someone to not freak out.

Are you from the UK?

What are your symptoms? are you totally impotent?

I tried to masturbate today, I did it with an 80% erection, ejaculation, felt some pleasure and then it was done, it went floppy almost instantly. It’s the worst it has been, and I wouldn’t be able to masturbate again today. I prey to god that this gets better of my GP gets me to a good endo and they find something wrong that i can treat.

It sounds as though you’d be better off visiting a urologist.

Possibly, but what about the other non sexual side effects though? If I got a urologist that knew about hormones etc too that would be good. I would hope that it might be a single problem to do with my penis/ testicles but the fact I also have no libido to me hints at a deeper problem. I will just make it my aim to have my GP take me seriously, and refer me to anyone who may help, at least that’s progress.

Why do you think a Urologist would be better, do my sexual side effects sound more serious to you?

Endo won’t help you, mine didn’t help me, urologist will be able to explain more about yuor plumbing. Besides your non-sexual sides seem mild.

I think you are probably right, there’s a better chance of a Urologist at least evaluating things in my private areas than getting a great endocrinologist. However, I do want a full/ partial hormone profile so i am hoping either my GP can do that, or the Urologist.

Thank you.

And also to Luckfax and maybe two other users on here that have doubted my symptoms, what is so minor about them? do you have to be totally dysfunctional to qualify as ‘crashed’ because from what I have read, people have ‘crashed’ and had the very same symptoms I have, e.g. numb penis, semi functional erections, no libido and muscle aches.

Crash is basically a complete drop in hormone levels and resultant symptoms coming within a few days/weeks of stopping, nothing you’ve written suggests this.

That said you now seem to be telling us about a loss of libido and other stuff which wasn’t there before, so maybe you are suffering a bit but you haven’t crashed, the term is beginning to be abused.

So having a numb dick and being almost impotent isn’t crashed, along with the the non sexual sides?

Anyway, does anyone know where I could order a full hormone panel in the UK, I have noticed that US people can just get loads of tests done without doctors?

You said you were still getting morning/spontaneous erections.

Not anymore, I never get any nocturnal or morning erections.
