I want everyone on this forum to think about something here. Many people are trying to discount this theory and finding ways to prove that it’s wrong for some reason. IHP obviously made a recovery here through the use of diet. If you really want to say that his use of hormones had anything to do with it, then you obviously haven’t been on an extreme diet and felt the benefits of it.

If you guys notice something on this forum, there’s a lot of talk surrounding the legal cases. As you probably know, Merck is most likely going to be watching these forums as they build their counter case. It’s in the best interest, financially for certain people here to claim all theories are bullshit in order to maximize the chances of them cashing out in this case.

Here’s a little tidbit of information that you may have not known. Did you know some lawyers are paying upward of $100 per person for referrals for the propecia case? I’m not saying that Mew is taking any money from referring people to the class action suit with that particular lawyer, but I know if he wanted to, he could be making quite a sum of money.

Now I know there’s going to be posts here saying things like, oh my god how dare you say this, this forum is meant to help people and we only want to find a cure bla bla bla. Then my response is, then why the hell are you consistently claiming things be completely wrong when people are finding improvements? Seriously, all I want to do is get better. Fuck everything else. And go to hell anyone who is sabotaging recoveries based on your own interests, karma is a bitch.

how can you just assume its no fungus? i all ready booked an appointment with an ortomolecular doctor…it will happen soon, he told hell check my blood under the microscope and will check every single molecule of it…so lets be all hopefull…MAN THIS THREAD HAs BECOME A LOT MORE INTERESTING.

“JG” recovered for 3 years before crashing again. He attributed his recovery to 7-8 weeks of using Tamoxifen. [He has told me he was in error when originally recalling only taking it for 2-3 weeks]

Some speculate that inflammation and edema in the gut/prostate area is impinging erectile nerves. I know from chatting with a few of the folks involved with this novel EMG testing that some of the theories revolve around infection of venerable DHT-dependent tissue. Fungus could be one causative agent. Not necessarily systemic, but organ/tissue-specific. Just throwing this stuff out there.

The very fact you are questioning this is quite disconcerting, that you feel the need to dream up potential conspiracy theories about such things, considering my longstanding involvement, position and management of this site… years before you ever joined.

Bryce, your potential accusations disgust me. To insinuate that I would try and make money off the suffering of others via legal proceedings when I am suffering myself, pour thousands of hours into this website and forum to setup, maintain and manage it (and continue to pay out of pocket to do so), undertake a ton of research, push medical & media awareness etc… all without asking anything of anyone, financial or otherwise… really, you really have your priorities messed up if you think that is why this website exists or that I am that type of person – ie, that I’m only out to make money. Just to be clear, this site COSTS me time and money, it doesn’t make me or anyone else a dime. I’m truly insulted and disgusted by your attitude here that you think I would be involved in some sort of legal referral money making machine.

To be honest if you feel that way, I get the sense you may think this whole PFS problem is just a joke (If that’s the case, why the hell are you here?), and you may have an ulterior agenda for joining and posting on this site… ie, to spread unfounded, baseless claims and throw out non-scientific red herrings for people to waste time/money on when trying to investigate their issues.

I answered in your thread why I think you may be wrong here. But, like I said, I like your theory, which makes much more sense to me than awor’s androgen insensitivity one (which dosent tie with my case, and others’, at all). I’ll keep an eye on it, although so far I rather think fin messed up the immune system by some way allowing overgrowth of potentially pathogenic agents within the body, induced gut dysbiosis and possibly deep-rooted focal fungal infections in the pelvic region in some cases (that absolutely can affect nerves, like the erectile ones), and yes, prostatitis (which is much more represented in the PFS sufferers compared to “normal” ppl, although all of us dont have this. And unfortunately “abacterial” prostatitis is still a mystery to medicine). Categorically refusing to receive the possiblility that an antifungal regimen worked primarily because of its antifungal property seems a little… weird.

Mew, I apologize for saying that you have monetary values in mind. I do know how much time and effort you put into this website and it saved myself and countless others a really, REALLY difficult journey. You def. saved lives with this website. But I don’t understand your motivation behind claiming everything to be quackery as it is helping people. Do you think they are lieing?

Even though I wish many people on the board including Mew weren’t often doubtful towards the recovery posts, i can’t be thankful enough for him (and Awor, of course, among others) to work on this board, because without it we NEVER could have theses studies done, and without them, what could we have for discovering the underlying mechanisms of PFS and eventually going for a cure? Nothing.

Let me tell you something, I used to read Tinnitus message boards, when I first developed very slight Tinnitus more than 6 years and a half ago (because of Fin?). I wish there was on these boards a powerful team able to push the research such as the admins and sufferers here, but since tinnitus is a problem officially taken care of by the hearing research, there was no such actions, and guess what? As of 2012 absolutely nothing has changed on these boards, and the “promising” treatments and “breakthroughs” are always the same as 20-30 years ago, and still nothing on the horizon for the sufferers.

Complete and utter nonsense. That doesnt even come close to explaining a fraction of the syndrome.

There is only one thing that explains just about every sympton of PFS, as well as the symptons of sufferers of accutane, saw palmetto, SSRI’s, and synthetic hormone injection, as in maria’s case, and that is modified gene expression.

Its as if people want to the problem to be about fungals because it’d be a lot easier to understand. Well that’s not the case, PFS is a very serious and very complex medical problem that demands a lot of effort to cure.

And FYI, a fungal infection is a “very serious medical problem that demands lot of effort to cure” (and is almost incurable in some cases, so is prostatitis, etc… And before you says “prostatitis is utter and complete nonsense”, you may not have it, but I do and its a fact, and I sure damn know how complex a medical problem it is, that demands a lot of effort to cure… In my case, I may never have had “real PFS” and maybe I’ll get rid of ALL my symptoms when i get rid of prostatitis…)

But you are new here, we oldtimers all have been where you are right now, chasing convoluted theories, you will learn that Occam’s razor is the wisest thing to adopt in these lands.

God forbid someone feels better and shares what they perceive to be the solution with us.

This drug has REALLY messed with our minds.

We have a guy here who is feeling great and so many are attacking him. This is not good. It will deter others from returning here and sharing their insights if/when recovered.

We have to remember, IHP is feeling great and he’s posting his experience to help us. If logging into this site becomes a chore, you won’t see him or others like him again. And then who are the real losers?
