Hello,
Ive just got back from the doctors today, and have received my testosterone results. Unfortunately he would only test this as he thought checking other hormones would be a waste of time!
Below are the results. Please can someone help me make sense of this, because i cant! I am not very good with these terms to be honest. I have typed down information exactly how it appears on the printed sheets;
-
Gonadotrophin levels
-
(DGG)- Normal, no action
-
Normal gonadotrophins. Testo/SHBG to follow
-
Serum FSH level 4.7 U/L (2.0-11.0)
-
Ref Ranges: Follicular: 2-11 Luteal: 2-9 Post Menop:>25 Male: 1.8-10
-
Serum LH Level 2.6 U/L (2.0-10.0)
-
Ref Ranges: Follicular: 1-12.5 Luteal: 1-12 Post Menop: >25 Male
-
1.5-9.3
-
R Androgens
-
(DGG)
-
No evidence of testosterone deficiency
-
Serum testosterone 28.8 nmol/L (10.0-30.0)
-
Serum sex hormone binding glob 30 nmol/L (10-62)
-
R Free Androgen Index HI 96.0 (25.0-90.0)
The doc said that these are normal results. When i asked him whether they are good results he just responded by saying ‘they are in range, don’t worry’. He said the the free Androgen result is a little high but nothing to worry about.
So are these positive results in any way or should i worry? Also what is serum testosterone, is it normal testosterone? i am slightly confused, the ranges don’t match what ive researched on the net.
I would appreciate any feedback. Thanks.
