Yes it didn’t help me much. Improved erectile strength a fair bit (esp. morning) but then the hyperthyroid symptoms kicked in - lost lot of weight etc… So stopped. Thyroid hormones upregulate androgen receptors and i think this is why there was an improvement in erections.
After using the search bar it does seem quite a few members of the forum have tried it. It looks as if it’s worth trying for me, it’s a shame nobody has had any long term success with it though. I am literally hitting breaking point now, if things don’t improve my life is going to become incredibly difficult.
I tried it. No real help for me, even with regard to weight loss. It will also burn muscle so keep that in mind. I think there are some dangers in the way you start or stop this medication. I’d do it under an endo’s supervision.
I know it sucks but we are making progress. Just a few years ago we had no idea what was going on. Now we have a couple publications, lawsuits and provable theories which can lead to treatments.
I have had a roller coaster journey over the last 4 years but there have been better days and I have seen enough signs of reversibility in our plight. Antibiotics have helped me. Don’t lose hope. I know it doesn’t help now but we have to keep keeping on.
Take small doses of T3. It acts quickly and too much can be very dangerous. Keep an eye on your weight as well and on the symptoms of hyperthyroidism - heat intolerance, excess sweating, feeling a bit shit.
Thanks for the positive words and the advice 19. I will take it in very small dosages to begin with and I will have 3 days of just taking trans dermal pregnenolone before taking the T3.
I know that a lot has happened in the last 6 months in terms of law case/ media coverage but personally I don’t see how a ‘cure’ would be coming anytime soon from that. I still believe that we are on our own and we need to figure out what works for us. I am holding hope that this year or at worst year 3 has some improvement for me. There are just enough recoveries for me to stay hopeful. I guess I just need to really keep my head together and make sure I don’t mess up my education.
Taper off of it slowly as not to shock your system. I take a fairly low dose of 25mcg in the morning. No real noticable effects to speak of. Dexa has given me some morning erections thou. I have read of a few members who recovered a few weeks after coming off dexa, so I am going to run it for a week and see what happens after that.
Perhaps it upregulates 5ar2, perhaps it suppresses immuno function in a way that helps us, or maybe it just reduces prostate inflammation (if this is the problem). I don’t know, but for short time use its pretty safe and it was dirt cheap at $3.75 for a box of 30 .5mg pills.
Do you even have a plan for taking T3? This is not something to fool with. You’re saying you haven’t even had labs, you’ve been consuming a bunch of substances from extasy to drinking, now you’re just going to jump on T3? Please tell me you have some further information and you’re not just going to take a very potent thyroid hormone in an unregulated manor. Because that would be fucking stupid.
Yeah, haven’t half of the forum done the same? I got roped into the hair loss forums and did what everybody else does and ordered FINPECIA. I actually took it on and off and often in very, very small dosages. I came off the drug about 5 times perfectly fine, it was my last attempt when I crashed.
No one is roping you. I’m trying to stop you from making the same mistake. You read T3 can help, you ordered some online. Great. Now do you realize if you overdose it can cause hyperthyroidism and even kill you?
I’m telling you to be cautious and that there are a host of other hormones that can be affected as well as T4 and RT3 values. If you take T3 and do it right (which is ramping up very slowly) you still can have a host of problems. You need blood tests before beginning.
Yes, I tried it. I was on about 15-20 mcg per day. I was on it for about 2 months and felt absolutely nothing while I was on it. No change in energy, mindset or libido.
Any other treatments that I tried in the past, if I had a positive reaction it would work with even a small dose. Martin is correct in stating that this particular med is risky to self medicate with. I was under a doctor’s supervision.
Most doctor’s will start out with a very small dose of about 5mcg. Now the interesting thing about this topic is, there a website that some of the MB moderator’s for Chrisler’s forum recommend regarding high RT3. It’s an Australian doctor that claims that you may need increase the dosage of T3 up to 150mcg per day in order to clear out the RT3 from your body.
There is no way in hell my doctor is going to scipt that dosage as it’s 10x what most recommend. There is also an increased risk of heart palpitations and some pretty scarey stuff. Personally, I’m not willing to become a guniea pig on this one.
