SURVEY: Possible study - Does Viagra worsen your symptoms?

Did viagra work for you?

  • It works pretty well
  • It works somewhat
  • Viagra is/was not really useful for me

I had contact today with a scientist who is working on a very interesting study regarding Viagra. We had a long talk and he may be interested in studying us. I would like to get a quick feeling for the following question from Viagra users:

  1. did it work for you?*
  2. if it works, does it do so reliably on a regular basis?
  3. did it increase your side effects in any way (numbness, depression, cognitive or other aspects, within a period of 24 hours)?
  • I realize this question has been asked before, but I need more data in particular together with question 3.

Thanks in advance for your cooperation.

Do you mean Viagra or pde 5 inhibitors in general ?

Viagra/Cialis worked pretty good for about two years. At the end of two years saw a steep drop off in effectiveness. I have definitely gotten worse, whether that is a result of using Viagra/Cialis or just my body continuing to change and adjust to its new post fin baseline I can’t say. Based on the number of other issues I’ve encountered over that time I tend to think the latter. But who knows, Viagra/Cialis are also inhibiting a enzyme just like fin, so they may have side effects that were hidden by the manufacturers, just like Merck did.

I am mainly interested in Viagra because the scientist is studying Viagra, but feel free to volunteer experience with other PDE5 inhibitors.

Cialis 80-100%.
Viagra 60-90%

Yes but cannot use either on consecutive days as a tolerance is quickly gained.

I would have to say no, the sides i get are the ones on the leaflet, muscle pain, nasal congestion etc.

I took Levitra …

Did it work for you ?

well it did work somehow but the erection was not as full as before it was like a random post finasteride erection with the difference that I could hold it longer .

  1. if it works, does it do so reliably on a regular basis?

well I don’t know I just took about 4 pills but was too scared after I read about a possible tolerance. I took these pills not regularly everyday . I took one pill every week

  1. did it increase your side effects any way (numbness, depression, cognitive or other aspects, within a period of 24 hours)?

Except headache and the typical increased mucus everything was fine .

But I am too afraid to take these pills again because I have very high blood pressure . I took Levitra the last time in about 2011 .
I’m really afraid that I could harm more veins arterials etc. when I take it again.

I am still able to get semi hard erections at this point do u think that a daily prescription of Cialis would work for me???
I can watch porn and get an erection???

  1. Cialis and Viagra always work for me
  2. Yes it is reliable and works whenever I take it… I take 20 mg Cialis and 100 mg Viagra and 50 mg Viagra as well
  3. It didnt increase any side effects… Just makes me nasal… I want to try 5 mg daily cialis

I’m very early in this, but thought I would post.

I got a prescription for 5 mg daily cialis. I started by cutting a pill in 4, and took 1 a day for 4 days in a row (but not yesterday). It seemed to help. The problem is that I had been having nocturnal and morning erections for about a month (out of sorghum I believe), but didn’t get anything last night (at all), which really scarred me. My dick was much smaller, and really flat. Woke up with zero libido… like going back in time. I have alot of anxiety so it’s certaintly not helping, but I wonder if cialis could have aggravated these symptoms?

Anyways, after reading posts on this forum, I won’t be taking this on a regular basis. I will only use it when I need it … I only “tried” (without success) to have sex once in the last 2 years (was a complete nightmare), but was going to give this another try soon… it’s really freaking me out, and this is why I got the drug.

Hopefully, I will be ok if I take a 5 mg pill in the morning. Otherwise, life will have hit a new low.

Flash update …

Was with a girl over the week-end. I took 2x 5 mg of cialis, and then about 25 mg of viagra. I was almost a year since I had been with a girl and was scarred to death.

Despite of taking all these pills, I felt nothing in the trousers. Stress must have its share of the blame, but I was astonished that nothing happened.

Back to square one. I think that working on anxiety is probably the way to go. But obviously, easier said than done. Long way to go…

  1. Nope
  2. Nope.
  3. Makes me depressed, also feel like I have the flu.

@awor did anything ever come of this initiative?

Nope, but it was since noted in a study that

Interestingly, TAD [Tadalafil=Cialis] increased total AR mRNA and protein expression

Based on this, I would predict that Cialis will make more severe cases feel worse overall. My guess would be that Viagra has the potential to do the same, given the very similar mechanism.

Just of note, I would not categorize myself as a severe case, but indeed Cialis gives me flu symptoms for about 48 hours, and within that same time frame heavy depression. Similar depression to when I have taken T4 medication, but not as severe. (T4 gives me close to suicidal thoughts.)

And, it does NOTHING for erections, at all. The very first time I took it, it did - but I also got hit with the worst head-cold symptoms I’ve ever had. Now, no erectile response.

I have my theories about PFS, and have shared before, but this does seem to fall in line with my body chemistry. I do not tolerate aromatase inhibiting- even small doses of an OTC aromatase cause tiredness and loss of joy. Arimidex seemingly doesn’t work well enough, but it is possible that what I recieved is not of a high grade - just speculation.

So does orgasm make you feel worse, also without taking any PDE5 inhibitors?

Never had any problems with orgasm
