Thanks for the response, scaredtodeath!

Now you mentioned you have high E and super high SHBG, but where do your LH and FSH rank? Are they low, normal, or high? I’m concerned having a normal-to-high level of LH would make the use of HcG almost nonsensical, but I haven’t ruled it out as a possibility.

The thing is, I’m still considering trying HcG because a lot of guys have had success with it but I’ve also read that it delays the body’s course to naturally restoring itself (though at this point I’m not sure my body’s going to do that on its own). I’ve also read that Clomid helps the restoration process, so I’ve also begun considering taking Clomid. I’m just not sure, really. Once I get my labs (which was unfortunately rescheduled to the 27th of January), I’ll better know what I’m working with.

So, in essence, I might try any of:
HcG
Clomid
Arimidex
DIM

Though I’ve heard contrasting theories on all of these possible antidotes, I feel confident one (or more) will work for me. There’s really only one way to find out, so I’ll go through it and figure out and report my results.

Well I am hopeful for you but get your bloods first. Some have had good results with Clomid, some with Nolva, some with Arimedex.

Thanks scared, but actually I think I’m going to knock off Arimidex off that list because I’ve read that Dr. Crisler is against using Arimidex to kill estrogen production in hopes of maintaining a good “t to e” ratio. I’m only stating what I remember reading so I may be mistaken as to his opinion on the matter but I don’t know if it’ll be the right way to go.

I do know that if I have a high e2 level that DIM will likely be my route of choice. And I’m not sure how I feel about hCG anymore. I keep reading conflicting things and I believe Dr. Crisler has stated that using hCG can easily make the situation much worse. So the only ones I feel relatively comfortable with are Clomid and DIM right now. Maybe Nolva…I’ll have to research that more.

And yes, before anything I will be getting my labs on the 27th. Once I get ahold of them I’ll post them in the appropriate thread and update here with my plan of action. I’m just really hopeful that I won’t end up having acquired androgen insensitivity because that sounds like the least “curable” diagnosis, but we’ll see. No matter what I have, I Will fix it, one way or the other!

I have big balls . Seriously most of the time my testicles feel very solid and large. It feels as if they are trying hard to produce something.

Both my LH tests have been low or mid.

Vincent- consider yourself lucky. It is starnge how the same drug can cause almost opposte symptoms.

Domino - I am curious on the arimidex comment from Chrisler. I have used dim to good effect and it has lowered my E somewhat. But not enough. If not arimidex than what does Chrisler suggest to control this???

Well, i recently used a high dose of letrozole for a few days (even more potent than arimidex) my libido disappeared and i panicked and tapered down far too quickly. In what can’t have been more than two weeks my testicles halved in size. I don;t know the explanation of this- estrogen too low means test production ceases? or was there an estrogen rebound due to the tapering that inhibited test production… i really don’t know, but i feel sure that the cause was letrozole, i have now tapered onto a much lower dose and am going to come off it completely over a few weeks. I am feeling better than i was a few days ago but it might be while before i recover my testicle size. (prior to this event i had regained a good 70% of original size over a few months) My point being, tread carefully with drugs, if you insist on using them taper up and taper down, both very slowly, don;t be impatient or reactionary, that’s my (hypocritical) advice.

Sorry, I’ve been busy the past couple days, scared…in the little bit of time I had today to look for where I read Crisler saying that I couldn’t find the reference. So again, there’s a good chance I’m mistaken about what I thought I read but I will look into this when I get a little more time because it struck me as odd that he would seem so for it and against it at the same time. I just remember him emphasizing that there is no golden “t to e” ratio and that using an anti-estrogen or something like that could really do more harm than good. I’ll research and get back to you as soon as I can but cando’s post kind of brings it into perspective for me. Now, I’m no doctor, and I probably know less than the majority of the members here but I’m just looking out for everyone as everyone has looked out for me. But I’ll definitely get back to you, scared.

should start clomid in one week - looking for something to control E while on.

Has anyone kept ball size post clomid?

bump

So I was hoping somebody would have responded with any kind of update in the past month and a half but I guess I’ll take over with a small update of what has helped me a little bit…

I know it’s been mentioned by many people before but I believe having a good work out routine and improved diet has helped me with my muscle loss, and consequent strength loss, and has also helped me have fewer days where my boys feel especially shrunken. I’ve been eating berries like crazy lately, like a half pint of blueberries every day (for memory/mood), a banana every other day (for prolactin), a clementine or two every day, and a pint of strawberries here and there. I’ve also cut down on my fast food consumption considerably and have supplemented it and my microwave dinners with roast beef (a low-fat, high protein alternative) sandwiches. I rarely bring to work anything I would at any point regret eating.

So, with my implemented workout routine and bettered diet, I feel a little better than usual. Some days my boys feel “fuller” and my drive (though it’s nowhere close to what it used to be) seems to be up. Also, I think it’s best not to overdo it when that brief return to “normalcy” occurs because I’m nearly positive it taxes the body more than it can handle and most likely increases prolactin levels to a level that’s higher than ideal.

And I had my bloods drawn a few weeks ago but they refused to draw the values I asked for even though my doctor specified for them to be drawn…so he wrote a note and I had them re-drawn last Friday (with the labs I asked for) and I will be able to view them this upcoming Tuesday, so we’ll see.

Oh, and scared, did you start clomid and if you did, did you incur any results either good or bad? Hope you’re doing all right man!

Hey Domino - thanks for bumping. What happened was prior to going on clomid my doc had bloodwork again and my T bumped back to 700 but my estrogen and SHBG were still sky high. I wanted to try low does clomid and some arimidex. Clomid to stimulate the boys a bit and arimidex to lower the E and subsequently the SHBG. Well he would only do one or the other - so I went with arimidex. Now I know this won’t help ball size but wanted to see if a better T to E ratio would help.

First week on I had a raging libido - seriously the first time post fon I felt that good. Horny as hell. subsequent weeks have not been as good. In fact this am (4 weeks or so into it) I am probably as small as ever. But I will say I have some really good days. Actually at the point for my first new set of labs. Curious to see what is really going on.

Dang, it’s irritating how most new treatments seem to have an incredible impact the first week or so on (my experience with Trib both times I took it) and then have their effects taper off completely. Now, if you achieve a better T to E ratio, I would think that would help with many of your symptoms, but would it be enough to distract you from returning your guys to their normal size? Because honestly, I would be extremely grateful to have everything back in order but I know that the loss in size (for me) has killed some of my pleasure sensation, so I know I won’t be completely satisfied 'til I get them back in shape!

Now, any idea if your doctor will allow you to try Clomid after this run with Arimidex?

Oh, and I found my results from the labs I had drawn back in August…I’ll have to post them. My LH was actually somewhere in the middle of the “normal range” so I would consider that low. So I’m thinking again that just maybe my situation might be because of a lower LH than I’m used to (just maybe a call for hCG)…but I will wait for my labs and my doctor’s opinion before I jump to any conclusions!

Look forward to hearing from ya, scared!

well - depends on the bloods (will draw tmw actually). depending we shall see- he wrote me a script for clomid already so I could always self medicate…

Haha true enough! Good luck with your labs. If you don’t get a chance to post them here (if that’d even be okay) then def. post them in your profile asap. I’m a huge puzzle guy so trying to find any kind of pattern with these results is actually kind of fun for me…weird, I know ha

Yep - sure will Drawn yesterday (FRI) so probably end of this week.

INteresting to me will be the SHBG. Obviously my E should be far lower with the arimidex

scared any success in restoring size?
do you have only size problem or pains or “the not comfortable feeling” when sitting for a while or other issues as well?

Have any of you guys had your fertility tested? After a Uro told me my nuts were roughly somewhere in the range of 50-70% normal size (didn’t measure them just looked) I had mine tested and came back at 14 million range was 20-250 million. I suspect and assume that most of us with shrunken nuts would have reduced fertility. As I have read the vast majority of testicular tissue is seritoli cells (sperm production) thus it would make sense that you lose testicular size, and you have reduced fertility.

I’m pretty positive I have to be less fertile than before but I have yet to have my fertility tested…I will bring this topic up when I go to see my urologist two weeks from now. Thanks for the suggestion Broken! Have you since tried anything to regain your sperm production? And if so, has it helped?

I have not. I had tried clomid in the past and I had this test done several months afterward and obviously it was still low. I think the only thing that will bring it back up is resolution of this PFS. Which might ultimately restore our lost size as well.

After jacking off today my balls looked and felt very “tight” and small. Normally they hang much lower, if you know what I mean. I don’t even know how it’s possible ffs, but the difference was huge.
