Rhodiola Rosea

I urge anybody that is suffering from the fatigue syndrome to try Rhodiola Rosea.

I have been off propecia for 1 year and 11 months and, although I have been better much much better than when I was on propecia, I still had little energy, napped frequently and was lethargic.

I’ve tried many different things to increase my energy and nothing even compares to Rhodiola Rosea.

I’ve been away from this site for a long time now but I felt compelled to come here and tell everyone here what has helped me.

I’ve had 1 bad day out of the 2-3 weeks I’ve been on Rhodiola Rosea. I’ve had what seems to be limitless energy to get things done, especially outside…my house is now emaculate on the outside when it was run down before.

Give it a try. It can’t hurt.

But although I may not be able to give all the credit to the Rhodiola Rosea, as I also started taking GNC’s gensing combo and a glucosamine/chondroitin at the same time…that’s all I take. But from doing the reading, many people have experienced the same thing I am with the Rhodiola Rosea.

Good luck…I’d be interested in hearing from anybody that starts it. If it were up to me I’d put the world on it…we’d get much more done!

Bump probably the closest natural thing, compare too anti depressants very interesting, lowers cortisol.

Maybe stack with domina witch binds progesterone, its on the way.

Interesting. Ehow says it optimizes the levels of dopamine and serotonin in the brain.

I agree with topicstarter this is good stuff.

Guys - do you know whether it needs to be cycled, and if so what are the relevant periods?
Tks

there seems to be no need for that, but its probably wise to have a break now and then 3 weeks on 1 week of or something,

just make sure you get a good brand jarrow formulation par example, there are more good one,s and even more shitty ones.

Better yet, buy an extract powder from a place like this, and cap it yourself. You know exactly what you are getting and it beats the hell out of any precapped brand I’ve tried.

I’m not sure what caused it, but I developed small fiber neuropathy.

The rhodiola was good for me, but it kinda petered out after, say, a year. I started dabbling in other related herbs, and may have gotten a bad cocktail that caused my neuropathy.

Or it could have just been a further complication of fin-nasty. IDK.

If I had to do it all over again, I would definitely cycle the rhodiola to save it’s benefits, plus to avoid any neurological damage. AND if you are stacking, make sure you are safe…or all together avoid herb combinations.

I’ve been hurting badly with nerve pain for the past 1 1/2 years now…i was on the rhodiola daily until June/July of 2010. One day…BAM, my legs are messed up with small fiber neuropathy (muscle twitches, weakness, pain, feet burning).

I’m on wellbutrin and neurontin now…which helps also with the brain fog that I had been experiencing in the past.

I hope this helps people.

Rhodiola is great. Out of the hundreds of supplements I have tried it is one that I have stuck with for a while now. It should help to heal adrenals if you have the other important parts in check as well.

It does not do much on dopamine and serotonin, but it WILL blunt norepinephrine at medium/higher doses/extracts and stimulate its release at lower doses/extracts. Despite this, it is still a “calming” agent.

Ashwaghadia is very similar, which I try to cycle too.

Make sure you cycle it. Over time you will not notice the effects as much.

I also like to add in ALCAR with it.

I have tried multiple Ginseng products and all seem to make me worse off.

The Rhodiola I use is NOW brand.

I had fantastic results on rhodiola! I felt awesome like I was my old self even better. My doc told me not to take it bc I’m on Zoloft. I may soon get off Zoloft and get on this! If u haven’t tried it, it’s worth trying. I felt calm, but had energy. Working out felt good. This really impressed me much more than anything I have tried.

Rhodiola has been a staple for me. Def helps keep you calm and smooth. Dont expect to recover from it, but it does help manage symptoms.

Might try it. How does it affect sleep? Does the energy you’re getting from it make it harder to fall asleep at night?

The energy you get is not a stimulant type energy, its just a smooth calm feeling. It would help with sleep. I prefer Ashwaghda for night time compared to Rhodoila tho, it is a similar adaptogen.

I’ll check both. Thanks.

I bought Rhodiola today and took one 500 mg capsule. Felt good.

How should I cycle it? Would five days on, two days off be okay?

More like one or two days on, and the rest of the week off. Unless you want to see those nice effects disappear. Save it for when you need the extra umph.

Does that apply to every supplement you use?

But I read that some of its effects only begin when you’ve been using it for a while. Maybe you can take it a day or two once in a while for a quick fix, or use it everyday and take breaks periodically?

Well…you can do what you’ve read, or you can do what myself, and countless others have experienced first hand. Up to you.

ANY supplement loses it’s effects quickly if taken too often as the body quickly builds a tolerance. For those of you who aren’t familiar with this, the low T website I always point people to has a great page on supplement cycling and why it’s not only important, but imperative to get the most out of your supps.

This is exactly why you feel the effects of something the first time or two you take it, and then feel NOTHING from it by day three, four and beyond.
