Restarting Fin? Staying on Fin or tapering off Fin?

.

weird
however i hope this works for you.

I think all angles have to be tried, and don’t judge anybody for trying to make themselves better. I would not enter a conversation about this drug with anybody concerned about hair-loss, only to warn them and send them to this site , but if there is a chance this could put our bodies right then fair play for someone to try it.

I’ve thought for a while that it was the ‘cold turkey’ approach that shocked our systems into the state that they are now in, but I was always too scared to go near the stuff again. Keep us posted, and try not to add any other variables into the equation as you’re coming off it.

Hope it works for you mate.

^^ I agree I deeply regret not slowly weening. But I doubt retaking fin is going to help anything when you have shrinkage, muscle wastage, crazy brain fog etc.

I don’t think UK20 is badly affected by PFS so I’m not sure his experience tells us much, as he has had periods of full recovery anyway lots of us can only dream of.

Some guys report taking vitd3 and zinc help, these are natural 5AR inhibitors. I’m not saying that’s the reason they help but it’s perhaps worth bearing in mind.

Thanks for the update. I personally feel I have too much to lose since I couldn’t bear another round of mood/mental instability that arose from taking the drug BUT I have always wondered if reintroducing the drug into your system and withdrawing it could help our endocrine systems readjust. Obvious nobody is really certain what mechanism of action caused these problem in us or even if it is the same mechanism across PFS patients. However, I have spoken with a doctor who supports the cause who thought it was not impossible that taking the drug may reset things.

Please keep us updated and I personally think this approach (while risky) is more likely to help than some of the other theories I have seen.

Frankly speaking to me this sound just as another of the thousands of sad propecia stories all over the world… nothing special on this…

Weening didn’t help me :frowning: .

You’re rationale is that by going back on and weening off it might improve your situation or is there more? Possibly fincar changed your biochemistry and now you need it?

Honestly I hope you’re not making it a lot worse for your own sake. Some of the worst crashes reported here seem to be after someone quit and went back on again.

.

I remember reading this but I don’t remember names. In fact I have a hard time remembering any names since fin. However I was referring to users who used fin, stopped and recovered, then started again at a later date.

Quite honestly it’s so illogical that anyone would take finasteride again, ingest the same poision that caused them to suffer it’s side effects for 17 months that…well…I didn’t think anyone would do it. You proved me wrong.

Time will tell.

Just to clarify, has there been anyone who has crashed and then recovered? Maybe not completely, but at least a slow recovery?

.

.

You were prepping yourself for a recovery from finasteride induced side effects by…recovering through finasteride.

Let’s be clear, I’m not complaining about people trying different things that don’t appear logical. I think specifically the logic of finasteride improving your side effects from finasteride is inherently contradictory.

I still honestly hope it doesn’t get worse for you because there is a good chance it can.

Man, stop going around insulting people who, through sheer bad luck, have worse health problems than yourself. You’ve already admitted you have no brain fog, muscle wastage, testes shrinkage etc, good hormone levels. It’s a bit rich for you to call others hypochondriacs. You haven’t even had a referral to a specialist yet FFS yet you’re on here all the time. I appreciate PFS is a broad church of suffering but I think that if you had a day in the life of some of the rest of us you’d off yourself.
