Radio interview / host of baldtruthtalk.com dismisses permanent side effects, labels this site as fearmongering
Unbelievable.
As some may be aware, a recent Propecia side effects video was posted by an anonymous user to YouTube – youtube.com/watch?v=SZsgCQ2-ZS8
It has since gotten some users concerned, and generated press from a hairloss transplant doctor, Dr. William Reed, MD – note his comments: baldtruthtalk.com/showthread … 809&page=3
Here is what the Dr. said:

Listen to the Bald Truth interview with Dr. Reed here, and note the radio host’s bias and dismissive attitude towards the possibility of not only permanent side effects, but side effects IN GENERAL… by blaming everything on the user’s mind, then encouraging the Dr. to reiterate that none of the 17 surgeons he spoke with had any complaints of irreversible side effects among 30,000 patients:

Considering the host’s position on, connection with, and investment in the hair loss industry, it’s possible the reasons for downplaying the risks of Finasteride treatment are not only to protect himself and his “empire”, but also to protect those who’s livelihood’s and incomes (ie dermatologists, hair transplant surgeons, big pharma) depend on prescribing the medication to consumers – the vast majority of whom remain unaware of the potential dangers that 5AR inhibition may cause, no matter how rare.
All told, this really boils my blood – such complete dismissal of all the recent publishings such as Swedish Medical Agency & UK MHRA listing permanent ED as possible outcome from use, breast cancer as possible outcome from use, Dr. Jacobs’ blog posts on acquired hypogonadism from the medication, the Swedish TV and Dr. Crisler Youtube videos, Dr. Irwig’s study on permanent side effects, and all the scientific evidence of what negative outcomes can occur when undergoing androgen deprivation therapy, by inhibiting 5AR and resultant neurosteroid (Allopregnanolone, THDOC acting on GABA-A receptors), nitric oxide production, and androgen metabolism (T --> DHT).
This is what we are up against folks – an industry backed by big pharma that denies truth and protects its own. Nonetheless, even though we are in the minority, our voices are being heard and awareness is spreading.
