Tell us your story, in your own words, about your usage and side effects experienced while on/off the drug.
It all started after taking only 11 pills of Trazodone in December 2017.

My symptoms are still today:

  • little to no existing libido (was previously very sexual)

  • Rarely morning erections

  • Pain in the lower abdomen and pelvis (radiates into testicles

and legs)

  • Penis Curve / Hard Flaccid (the penis feels hard and

like rubber, while at the same time it is totally loose at the

root)

  • Genital numbness (it is not completely numb but definitely a

loss of skin sensitivity)

  • The scrotum is now hanging most of the time, the skin is

there sometimes shiny, wrinkled and thin (like parchment

paper) It looks like an inflammatory reaction.

  • Watery / less semen

  • I have NO problems with peeing and bowel movements!

  • no respond to alcohol and other things that gave me high libido/energy before (maca, green tea etc)

All previous doctors (neurologists and urologists) could not find anything.

It was undertaken:

  • MRI of head and lumbar spine

  • Lumbar puncture

  • Ultrasound of bladder, testicles and prostate

  • Measurement of nerve conduction velocity

  • Big blood picture

  • Comprehensive hormone test

  • Urine test

  • Prostate PSA test

  • Physiotherapy for the pelvic floor

PS:
My case is very similar to Zadig777 who was a member here and commited suicide.
I didn’t know how this could happend. I took 2 years SSRI and all was fine, and then just 11 pills fucked my life.
I am now finished with my Latin and have little hope for convalescence. What else can I do or let test?
Liver enzymes?

Did you recover from the mental sides?

Not really. Deeper depression now than ever before. Just the sleep is okay and axiety is completly away since trazodone, for this I can barely feel anything emotionally

No help here?

What medications did Zadig take?

Welcome to our forum, Trazohell!

I am sorry that you have to go through this. Here you’ll find many people who suffer from similar persistent side effects after taking Finasteride, Isotretinoin, various anti-depressants and other drugs.

Unfortunately, there is no way to test for this condition and there is no reliable and safe way to treat this condition. Finding out what is wrong with us and how to treat this condition will require basic scientific investigation that goes beyond what doctors and commercial labs can offer us.

Fortunately, though, there are still things you can do to help our cause. On this forum we have a dedicated team that is working to create more awareness of our condition and to initiate more research into the underlying cause and, hopefully, one day potential treatment options. For this we need everyone’s help here. Please consider participating in our community projects, which are presented here: Important Announcement: Two Community-Led Research Projects - Please Participate

The Survey takes around one hour of your time and can be saved on every step if you want to go through it in multiple sittings. The results will be very helpful to present systematic data with regard to the numerous symptoms that people in our community suffer from. Please also see here for more help: Have you signed up to take the post drug syndrome survey? This topic is for you

The 23andme project will cost about a 100 bucks, depending on location, and will provide genome data that may help us to find genetic similarities between patients that may predispose us for this condition. Needless to say, this would be very helpful.

Please also consider to report your adverse effects to the authorities to make them aware of the risks these drugs pose to the public. Country links can be found here: https://www.who.int/medicines/areas/quality_safety/regulation_legislation/list_mra_websites_nov2012.pdf

If you want to help raise awareness on social media, please volunteer in this thread: Are you interested in sharing your story for our Youtube project?

Thank you and good luck!

Zadig was fucked up by Trazodone too, but this should be easy to find out If you would read his story.

I have two years now PSSD/PFS from just 11 Pills Trazodone in December 2017.
Do I have to expect it to be permanent and I will never be the same again?
I was stable that I could have sex with arousal / erections and orgasm (but it feels very mechanical), now I’m worse again (maybe from Vitamin D/Tribulus or too much alcohol from Silvester).
Even with three Cialis pills, I was recently unable to get an erection with a pretty girl. We hardly have any contact now. My whole life passes me by.
Zadig 777 (3 pills Trazodone) killed himself after just 8 months. I’m still here after 24 months and fight. I am so strong and admire myself for where I get this strength from.
But sometime it’s time to see the truth and better give up than lie to yourself?

A couple years is nothing. Notice for example a woman (Bunny) on PSSD forum recovered after something like 11 years and now is happy and enjoying life. Forget about girls for a bit and focus on other things. It will get you hotter girls in the long run anyway because girls are fundamentally designed to latch on to the most successful man they can attract. Become successful in other areas and you’ll get hotter girls anyway. Girls’ whole orientation in life is toward attracting guys and they are hottest from age ~16-20 but guys are hottest around 35-45. So in a way it’s stupid to be spending time on girls when young anyway. In a few years after recovery you will be trying to bat them away.

You do well to be proud of yourself. Zidag was worse than you because he couldn’t have fun with alcohol. He couldn’t do anything funny.

Vitamin D and Tribulus are extremely dangerous. I have personally gone from an acceptable PSSD level, to total destruction of my body, penis and brain, due to tribulus. A close friend developed joint hypermobility due to vitamin D.

But Bunny was cured by Lithium and pelvic floor therapy.
Lithium works on serotonine. My numbness was a bit better on St Johns Wort, so I still think serotonine play a role in this.
Maybe I should try Lithium too? The physio therapy itself help me a bit with the pain.

I also have difficulties to react to alcohol and other things but it change from time to time. It’s definitely a receptor thing that is involded.
Sorry to hear for you that with the Tribulus. PSSD/PFS is a strange thing. What others makes better or even cure them, can worsen or finally destroy the other one.

Trazadone is also an SSRI but I think our problem is endocrine disruption and 5ar, not what the drugs were originally meant to affect. But no one knows because even after all these years no one has done much science. I think the lithium might be worth a shot. She’s the best recovery story I’ve seen.

Hi Trazohell, can you tell me what your experience with SJW was? How long you took, what dosesge, and why you stopped? Just curious. I took Accutane but also took Trazodone so I’m looking at treatments for Trazodone now.

Where do you see that @bunny88 recovered?

I took 2 or 3 months of trazadone. My psychiatrist said this is good for combating erectile dysfunction caused by ssri . First few nights I had erection almost all night but libido was still down . Other symptom it didn’t gave me .

Lucky for you. Spontaneous erection gave it me too but they had nothing to do with natural ones.
