My experience of urologists in hospitals are they are very much surgeons and are not the best medics. And well respected urologists admit that prostate treatments are very much not developed in their minds.
I read your story and if I understand correctly you didnt have prostate symptoms (pain, burning, urination etc.), correct? what made you get the TRUS? Also, did you consult more than one urologist about your TRUS?
Well guys, as i am on holiday and have some more free time to do some research on our issue, i came across yesterday with a Spanish forum where one of the guys have gone through a really long-term prostate treatment with draining massages in Argentina. Unfortunately the information posted does not say whether or not it was successful, but i just sent him an email so i might have some feedback soon.
By the way, i would like to know if having calcifications may be relevant for our symptoms (I have had different opinions in relation to this and would like to get it clarified).
Yep urology is in the dark ages
I could make a documentary and it could become a best seller in TV channels if i recorded all what i ve seen or was told upon my visits.
Nevertheless prostatitis is too difficult for many to understand because they are trying to find a connection with infections, fevers, malaise etc etc.
Its nothing like that. It is in there and some trigger makes it blast and conquer your healthy genitals as time goes by. Sometimes it has its ups and downs sometimes it progresses slowly till for years till you notice symptoms. Most donāt have any symptoms at all for a very very long time. Its onlywhen someone uses or abuses hormones that problems come about or when the symptoms are very intense. Otherwise you may have it and also get hypertrophy before noticing it. First symptoms are mostly urinary but this may mask an underlying sexual decline.
TRUS is a relatively newer way to identifying it. I see more and more doctors here use it, and some more are thinking of the massage treatment as the ultimate approach.
For years i had no symptom at all but my sexual issues, thats why i also never considered prostatitis as the problem, thinking where is the fever?? where is the urinary problems??. I remember this guy BOSTON telling me in multiple PMs that he found great relief from treating it but everyone made fun of him back then or disbelieved.
Unfortunately it is the major problem for many here, and for the ones who donāt wish to understand it itās gonna be the hardest to accept in the end.
They will keep going around and around all sorts of doctors to get an understanding and wasting money in researchers and ānotableā professors. Been there done that.
TRT only uses up the available non-inflammatory tissue to give results. Once the inflammation progresses though or due to the unstable HPA function because of the inflammation you cannot get steady results. Finasteride just makes the whole situation worse, much worse due to its great affect in the regional immunity.
Bodybuilders develop prostatitis also when using from pro-hormones to anabolics. Its very common too. Some use finasteride to combat it!! thinking it is hypertrophy.Maybe it is more of a hypertrophy in them too. Noone can really tell, because you need very extensive array of tests to discern pathogenic from hypertrophic-hormone triggered prostate issues
For me now the issue is really unnoticeable, i only have slight annoyment in my testicles with atrophy progressing much slower than before. I can sit for hours on my office chair or drive around without noticing anything. Sexuality is a lot better, especially orgasms, basically i am thinking of sex every day and that is not very good for my girlfriend. Offcourse i am not 100%, it would be impossible to get back there after so many years of sustained inflammation in my genitals, and with the testicular tissue destruction especially. Doctor thinks i need more treatments since i still have inflammation in there, but i think i am quite ok for the time being. I will wait three to six months and see how things are going.
solo, do you remember how boston ācuredā his prostate?
from what i understand, calcifications develop after the prostatitis has gone untreated for years. this will likely develop into cancer in the long runā¦
Thatās extremely unfounded. The medical community continue to research this but many studies are pointing to no link between mircro-calcifications and cancer. Certainly this is the case in the testes anyway as i have researched it and spoke to a few urologists about it since my own testes ultrasound!!
Common Prostatitis Symptoms
Common symptoms of this condition include:
ā¢Trouble passing urine or pain when passing urine
ā¢A burning or stinging feeling when passing urine
ā¢Strong, frequent urges to pass urine, even when there is only a small amount of urine to be passed
ā¢Chills and high fever
ā¢Low back pain or body aches
ā¢Pain low in the belly, groin, or behind the scrotum
ā¢Rectal pressure or pain
ā¢Urethral discharge with bowel movements
ā¢Genital and rectal throbbing
ā¢Sexual problems and loss of sex drive
ā¢Blocked urine
ā¢Painful ejaculation (sexual climax).
I only seem to have a few of these. I have only occassional lower back pain and obviously 100% loss of sex drive. I also have a throbbing sensation sometimes when sitting for long periods of time behind genitals and testicles sometimes as well.
What do the rest of you guys have in terms of symptoms?
-Painful ejaculation (only when having intercourse, not masturbation)
-Sexual problems and lose of sex drive
-Occasional genital throbbing
-Burning while urinating
Guess iāll make a bigger post sooner than lateish. Iām back now for the 1 month recovery period - i still have inflammation and infection left so i need to get back possibly after 1 month for at least 2 weeks. It was a bummer but weāll see what happens. I just got looot of shit to do before going back jesus. I hope for the best.
Just have patience friends. I do have some kind of list of people who are being treated now and who are considering, though all of them are at the beginning of their treatment and they prolly fluctuate a lot. Focusing on their respective treatments. Itās not easy.
