Prostatitis treatment as a novel insight into Finasteride related problems

Hi Solonjk,

I have been monitoring this thread with interest from the start, although I have not been tested in any way, since my crash I have definitely had an underlying issue with my prostate… spasms followed by discharge when urinating mainly, slight dull pain also.

I can think of worse places to get treated than Kos, where are you staying? Apartment? hostal? Are the living costs expensive?

Good luck with the rest of your treatment…

Cheers,

.

Sorry you miss understood me, I was saying I can think of worse places… i.e. Kos is beautiful as you say paradise

Great, thanks for the info…

Just one more question, does the doc speak good English? A small one, but might help as my Greek is not great lol.

Cheers again.

His English is fine, I have communicated to him through emails…

Can you post/embed the jpeg image of your transrectal ultrasound, J89? I think it would help the discussion/education on this thread. Thanks!

I know this site has been posted before, but nevertheless, for a general summary and overview of available treatments and ideas:

ignore the line about saw palmetto. just ignore it.

Hey Solonjk, recently I’ve been getting inflammation like a urinary tract pain when I work out… Well I’ve had it now for a while regardless of whether I work out or not, but it seems to be more noticeable when I’m lifting weights… Do you think I am doing myself a disservice by lifting? Can this cause inflammation to be worse? Also, I’ve noticed that Ive been leaking either urine or something during my workouts as well bc there has been a damp spot on my boxer shorts…

There was a link to a place in `Tucson, Arizona on the prostatitis website above. It might be worth checking out for the guys from America.

From the site…

Hi solonjk,
just another question. I am really considering to go to Greece now. However, I have been to many urologists and I they have done a “normal” ultrasound (not a transrectal ultrasound) at my genital area. Non of these urologists has mentioned prostatitis in my case - at least they said I should be fine.
Is transrectal ultrasound so much different from the normal ultrasound? Furthermore, I have given a urine, blood and sperm sample to chech for abnormalities. Everything seemed to come back fine.

.

can anybody tell me the name and website of the Greec doctor again (I don’t find it anymore as there are so many posts). I want to contact him.
Thanks

.

I’m really torn. A trip to Greece is not feasible at this time. A trip to AZ to this clinic is still a challenge, but more practical.

I spoke with the doctor from the center, the last 2 nights after his workdays. Answered my questions frankly. Says that if, in fact I have prostatitis (can’t diagnose over the phone although symptoms match), then curing the E.D. is a possibility.

Their website is pretty outdated/static, but essentially, the story goes that a guy got treatment for his prostatitis at the Manila center and was so thankful that he sponsored the creation of this AZ center. He recruited a doc (but not a urologist) in Dr. Polacheck who trained with Dr. Feliciano in Manila. So, they don’t function as a full-service urological center, fyi. They don’t really issue ultrasounds (unless you want them to commission it from the hospital). They specialize in these prostate massages/drainages & antibiotic administration. And then they teach you how (and/or a willing partner) to self-massage to keep up treatment. Sounds crazy!

Boston reported initial success using this treatment, but then still lingered around this board (I PM’d him, haven’t heard back). It sounded like he could have sex after having prostate manipulation, but I don’t know how bad his E.D. was to begin with. And I’m not sure what his outstanding symptoms are (other than not being absolutely 100%). It seems as if he gave up on the antibiotics and self-treatments at some point.

Anyways, it takes a week for them to get accurate cultured results from the labs at Carondelet St. Mary’s Hospital. The antibiotics utilized are specific to the bacteria that you have. They’ve seen staph, strep, e. coli, chlamydia, everything under the sun.
