Prostatitis treatment as a novel insight into Finasteride related problems

.

Solon, thanks for the info. Hows your libido? How long did it take to change?

.

What about penile shrinkage? Any improvements?

Yes, please post any scans you have so we can all learn from this process!

anyways i am not surprised. One of the best urologists in europe, told me that my prostate is fine, it was just a bit flat. That was in Karolinska University, Sweden, i payed several hundred euros for the visit and another thousand to the endocrinologist who have me dihydrotestosterone and anti-inflammatories.!!! I go back to Greece and in three days my testicles almost blew from pain and prostate was sending weird painful signals to my whole area around and down my legs.

Does it cost any more to do ā€œ2-a-dayā€ treatments? The cost of basic treatment was quoted at 3000euros by Dr. Georgiades; is this a per-session charge that averages 3000euros in total?

Yes, please do. There are a bunch of us that are really trying to make some calculations to see if a trip of this magnitude is even possible. Every little bit of info and insight you provide goes a long way, so thank you!

Now, if we were to fly out and see Dr. Georgiades tomorrow, he could detect inflammation/prostatitis quite easily from what youā€™ve written, with an ultrasound. Would treatment begin immediately? Or would one have to wait for the specific results of the prostatic fluid culture (7-10 days later) to properly devise an antibiotic cocktail for the particular detected microbes?

Thanks.

I donā€™t knowā€¦the link provides some interesting info, but then it links to a product they promote. Iā€™m not too keen on the idea of sticking something up my own ass, I donā€™t know that it would be safer at all. As far as the other considerations (spreading an infection or cancer), I think the urologist would be screening for all those things in his initial consultation, no?

This thread reminds of reading Bostonā€™s endless posts about how the prostate was the centre of all post-fin problems. I think he ended up going to some prostatis place in Tucson where they did some sort of massages, he got a mild response but certainly no cure. Maybe US guys could look that place up? Do a search on it.

I e-mailed that place (got kicked back, had to try another e-mail address). No response. Just got off the phone with them, and they wouldnā€™t give very many details, except for:

-first visit is diagnostic / you wait a week for lab results
-if indicated, treatment is 2 weeks w/ daily (hour-long) massages + antibiotic administration

This is their website. Iā€™m awaiting an e-mail packet of more info. I did not observe any literature on their website connecting prostatitis to E.D. Although the Filipino center which they emulate the treatment of (referenced pages back in this thread) did list E.D. as part of the prostatitis symptoms.

He is not talking about massages that you get from some masseuse lol

Also, on the matter of sticking fingers up oneā€™s ass: prostatitis.org/doityourself.html
This was written in 1996!!! Also note that he claims prostate massage success even without antibiotics.

By the way I just came from an urologist and had a prostate massage. He said that it rarely shows up bacteria, and considering that my prostate fluid was white (and not yellow) it probably wonā€™t culture bacteria.
From what Iā€™ve gathered dense white fluid is good, and itā€™s normal.

hahaha i wish i could stop laughing. Try it and tell me how to do this. I want to see it in video.

i can testify that my shrinkage is partially recovered since my sovrapubic cloggyness subsides

of course i hope for more, but i donā€™t know.
here i havent read 100% girth recovery

Do you think the doc could take a look at them?

I was told that the transrectal ultrasound is more accurate than the normal ultrasound. So I would take the 19cc over the 33cc

Amazing that on some websites they claim that 30cc is normal. I still think there are two different ways of measuring it - internally and externally. Could be wrong.

solonjk,
it seems to be very difficult to find an urologist who is able or willing to perform transrectal ultrasound. Furthermore, it seems that even when they do it, they are not able to interprete the results correctly. Therefore, I am willing to do the ultrasound at your Greec doctor. Do you think it is a good idea to go directly to Greece and get the ultrasound and the lab-testing over there? How much time do I need to get the results in order to check if I have prostatitis or not?
Thanks for your help
