Progesterone treatment?

i get along well with the vitamin C, takes my stress away from not sleeping properly. it’s not bulletproof though, but 1-3g a day is really helpful.
i think zinc is helpful too

and why not the pregnenolone instead of progesteron and let the body decide the correct ratio?

almost everyone on this board should be taking 50 mg of zinc gluconate (other types don’t work as well, I’ve tried) to improve their concentration that is dumbed down by PFS. I take mine on an empty stomach and gladly welcome the 20 minutes of nausea it brings me in exchange for 24 hours of enhanced focus.

Has anybody heard from Beekay? He was supposed to update us. Can somebody email or pm him and ask for an update?

I wrote him a message Jan 21 and he replied. I asked him permission to post his answer, but then he never replied or logged in afterwards. I assume he is ok for me to post his answer here:

It’s the same for me, I’m right now in my off period and I don’t feel very good. Strangely I didn’t have this effect when I went off progesterone in December.

Week 4 - Feeling good, today begins another off period. Over the past week I’ve felt pretty normal with the only real symptoms being tiredness after about 8pm (Friday, Saturday and Sunday I fell aslep around 8:30pm. During the day I feel good though. Yesterday went XC skiing for 15 KM and didn’t have the lightheaded shaky feeling I’ve grown used to over the past years. Cheers to that, I’ll let you all know how I do with the second off period (not looking forward to it).

sounds good, thanks for giving feedback. Did you get a libido boost while on it? Do you mind going to anymore details about what’s happened while on and off specifically?

No problem…

While on - I feel more relaxed. Usually before any meeting at work I get really anxious even if its pointless. Don’t have that anymore while on. My libido is about the same. I get raging horny and then nothing. However while I’m on I know I can perform and I do. Psychology effects include increased dreaming about random things. I was listening to rhcp a lot this week and had an awesome dream about what I don’t remember, but rhcp was the sound track. I also don’t have to pee all the time while on unless I drink too much coffee. Progesterone works in my opinion. Maybe not a cure, but a great symptom reliever.

While off- the symptom that comes roaring back is urination frequency, frankly its embarrassing. My sexual performance is about 50% of normal, when I’m on its good, not great. Anxiousness sky rockets, I’m naturally an Introvert but any group interaction worries me on off days so far.

Hope that helps

One other thing while on and off. My facial hair is growing at an increased rate. I’m not a hairt guy at all so this is very noticeable. No change in hair on head though. I forgot to mention, energy is variable depending on the phase of the moon it seems. Bigger energy swings while off, but earlier bed times while on.

good updates, it’s nice just to hear someone doing something that gives relief to symptoms. I’m going to start my dosing as soon as I get a chance (on some other protocols right now). What brand are you using and have you thought of going from 5mg a day to 10 mg a day split into two doses (morning and night).

any concerns on progesterone safety?
isn’t it connected somehow to breast cancer?

It’s connected to Breast cancer in the synthetic form commonly used in birth control. Not worried about breast cancer, if I get it from this, breast cancer is one of the most treatable kinds of cancer.

I’m using Kokoro Women’s Balance Cream. Maybe two applications would be warranted, I guess I could try it tomorrow and see what happens after a week (new month protocol wise, tweaked approach).

Did anyone else see this news story?

http://www.cnn.com/2014/01/18/health/fish-oil-recovery/

It’s about a familly that attributes progesterone and fish oil as the main factors in their son’s recovery from brain damage.

I did not, thanks for sharing. Very interesting.

I posted several studies that show researchers purposefully using finasteride to destroy progesterone receptors. These studies were showing progesterone’s positive influence on brain damage

Did the studies show receptor growth after being destroyed by Fin? Do we have a working theory on how progesterone is helping some members, and maybe why it doesn’t help others?

I’m hung up on the fact that progesterone inhibits DHT. Isn’t that how we got messed up in the first place? Maybe it inhibits the enzyme, but doesn’t render it useless like Fin???

Sorry if these ?s are answered already. Between the blurry vision and dry eye I simply can’t read as long as I used to.

Wel, if you read the studies it causes something called a PR knockout, and it happens instantaneously. As far as regrowth, no bc that’s not really what the studies are about. I have 100% belief this as zero to do with low DHT as the culprit. I was on fin for 9 years while it was suppressing my DHT and I felt fine

Perhaps the time frame varies when it crosses the brain barrier and how much dosage wise. What is interesting is that people seem to crash upon initial use or when they ween off it or stop

Ithinkfingotmetoo-

One symptom relief I didn’t really notice until a few days ago is the dry eye thing. I gave up on contacts about two years ago because I couldn’t take putting drops in every three hours and the redness they caused (had contacts since 2003 with no problems). I wear computer glasses at my job to help with tired eyes, but lately my vision has been much better and my eyes don’t get tired looking at a screen for 9 hours a day. I’m not sure if it’s the progesterone, fish oil, vitamin D, thyroid meds finally being in balance because of the progesterone, etc, etc, but its a noticeable difference but one I don’t think about unless its the middle or end of the day at work. Am I going back to contacts? No they’re too big of a hassle and expensive in general.

What do you mean, it’s connected in the synthetic form? the molecule should be the same, what’s the difference?
Just trying to understand
