Thanks

Another excellent edition of “PFS Global Support,” featuring yet another Australian victim of the horrific hair-loss medication Propecia.

Everyone needs to tune in and spread the word.

And my friend Gary’s podcast here too from today…

blogtalkradio.com/pfsglobal/ … arys-story

Gary’s is an interesting case. With the crash occurring at an extended range from drug cessation. There have been other members who report it occuring after several months but this really stands out. I don t doubt that propecia was the underlying trigger btw.

Also I d be really interested to hear from him regarding ECT therapy. What his mental side effects were and the response he got from this therapy. I imagine he is the first to try it and it sounds like he has made huge gains in the mental department in a very short time. He seems almost back to himself mentally.

Does he have a profile Paul? I have tried plenty of ADs and they all make me worse so would love to know more about his ECT response.

I’d stay well clear of ECT ‘therapy’ and he shouldn’t really have been given it. Declining mental health is but one of many symptoms of PFS, ECT is meant to be used in fairly serious cases of mental illness only, ones which linger for an extended period and where other avenues have been exhausted. I think it’s almost bordering on malpractice using it in this instance.

Gary is not a member on here but send me your mobile number in a PM and I’ll pass it on to Gary

Gary was worse case scenario and all other avenues had been explored

I’m just delighted it worked for such a nice guy and true friend of mine now, met through this hell hole that is PFS, both me and Gary talked daily a year ago when we had both crashed around the same time!

You won’t meet a nicer person than Gary

It does look rather barbaric but seems to have good efficacy when other treatment options have failed. No harm in discussing it particularly as the treatment seems to have improved Gary immensely. I believe it was the treatment in “one flew over the cuckoos nest” which brought it public infamy.

What would you suggest for persistant treatment reaistant depression and cognitive stew Luckfax? Just sit it out and wait for improvements?

I can only speak for myself, but I think time heals the depressive symptoms to a degree. I’ve seen that mentioned by many others here and also in the context of men who undergo chemical castration as part of prostate cancer treatment. You are still under a year off, you’ll probably find it’s better than it was already and will continue to lessen until the majority of days it isn’t there and finally pretty much subsides altogether.

Cognitive problems are maybe more complex. I think with time you just get more used to them and adapt. Some have suggested omega 3s but I haven’t taken them for long enough to really judge, probably because of my crap memory!

Guys, I’ve seen it’s gone deadly quiet where the podcasts are concerned. I think it’s vitally important that we get the message out about the dangers of this horrendous drug

Please can I urge you to volunteer yourselves to tell your story to Adam on his podcast

All it takes is 15 minutes of your time to tell the world how damaged you’ve been by finasteride

If you are interested in doing this, send me a PM or send one to Jorbie (Adam) and me or Adam can get you booked in to tell your story

Please guys, step forward and be counted, you don’t have to use your real name

Finatruth, I think your story would serve a lot for optimism since you’ve recovered so much, but were so badly affected, would you speak on the podcast?

I was the Australian guy on the podcast a few months back, and it gave me a lot of (suppressed PFS) joy to do so.

I’d seriously encourage everybody to participate as well, and likewise for the studies. it’s pretty amazing to me that guys in the States aren’t willing to participate in the studies, even though I’m almost positive it would be heavily subsidised by the PFS foundation. I’m in Australia and pretty much begged them to either fly me over, or let it do it remotely but it was pretty much impossible given my financial situation.

get involved, the only way we beat this is with time and professional help. throwing around theories and protocols on here is great, and some obviously help to a degree.

but the studies are how we find a sustainable treatment option, and root cause as to why which is something I lost a lot of sleep over.

I’m amazed there are no willing participants to do a podcast? How about Notna, PVDL, Finatruth or any other member here? This is important. Reply here or send me a PM and I will get it arranged

Don’t ignore this, tell your Propecia story!!!

Agreed. Some of you guys need to step up and do Adam’s show. Of course you can use a pseudonym.

But look at the big picture, there are at least THREE medical studies going on, funded by the PFS Foundation.

There are loads of victims of other prescription drugs (many made by Merck) who are not as lucky; there is no foundation fighting for their cause.

That said, the least you can do is tell your story on an online radio show for 20 minutes.

I’ll do another one if we just want to have some air time talking about PFS side effects and the studies.

Good to hear. You should reach out to Adam and let him know asap:

Just saw that Adam interviewed another PFS victim today – Kyle – on his PFS Global Support BlogTalkRadio show:

Excellent interview. Everyone needs to tune in and show Adam their support. He is doing a huge public service. And, I suspect, saving scores of lives in the process (something that Merck CEO Kenneth C. Frazier can never lay claim to).

Better yet, Adam has yet another PFS victim teed up for tomorrow:

Just a reminder: Everyone should tune into Adam’s show today at 7pm ET for his interview with Michael:

It’s not easy for many men to go public with their stories. But doing so helps save lives around the globe.

So try to call into the show as well to show your support.

Just listened to Mike’s interview. Always sad to hear these stories. Mike obviously had a lot on the ball before Propecia. And now he’s a mere shadow of his former self.

In any case, tune in if you have not already done so to show your support for these guys:
