Nystatin

editor.nourishedmagazine.com.au/articles/how-to-overcome-candida-part-2

This is one of the best guides to beating candida i have came across, but it also shows just how difficult it is. I don’t know where i stand with candida to be honest, i find it very hard to believe that it could possibly cause symptoms like ours. However, considering all the recent evidence that many of our symptoms could be stemming from some sort of infection or inflammation i think TREATMENT for candida deserves merit.

Today my libido is up quite a bit, semen actually has some thickness to it and i achieved two absolutely throbbing erections. I really don’t know whether to pay more money and carry this on when i have no idea what it’s treating.

Nilstat (what i am using) is cheap from unitedservices and there service is top notch in case anybody else wants to try Nystatin

The big question that really needs to be answered is why are antibiotics/ anti fungal/ anti inflammatory meds improving our symptoms and in some cases even curing people?

I would like to hear Mew, Awor, 40’s opinions on this

If you are feeling better I think you should definitely stay with it. Are you worried that you may make certain types of bacteria in your body resistant to medication?

I am not actually too bothered about that, not with the use of Nystatin anyway - antibiotics would be a different story. I can’t be 100% sure it’s helping but i am fairly certain it must be, and i am having a good reaction. Basically, i am going to wait until ihatepropecia702 has finished treatment to see whether his recovery sustains. My finances are pathetic, im a student with no income so i really need to make sure i spend my money wisely now as the new semester approaches.
I have been talking to a couple of people and have another protocol in mind which i will notify you of if i find any improvements. If Nystatin helps me, maybe Dexamethasone will to just like ihatepropecia702 and others. Let’s just see.

I’m interested in the use of nystatin. Doxy continues to help me. I advise taking vitamin c with it if you do. I have tried stopping it from time to time and sometimes things manage to stay better for a bit after stopping but it varies. Been away from uk for a while and been on some bumpy roads. Gave my prostate a fair degree of pain. Very uncomfortable! My libido has been pretty good although the pains in my prostate kill the erection and if I try to masturbate this irritates it further. A hands off approach shows I can get an erection as I have been having consistent morning erections. But again the prostate like issues kill things. I wonder if nystatin will help me as well. I don’t know why doxy helps but this has proved for me to be more fruitful than any hormonal treatment. Also am not convinced over androgen insensitivity as I lose hair, have acne, can put on muscle, morning erections are ok, libido is ok with doxy. And PAIN is not part of that theory. Vitamin d I think helps as does walking. May try and give nystatin a go and perhaps dexamethasone for a very short period.

UK20, Is the Nystatin giving you any other benefits other than than the morning wood? I am also aware of another member on the forum that had some positive results from Nystatin. Did you experience any change in libido, sexual improvement or anything else?

Yes, i had some slight libido boost i believe. I have nearly finished 50 capsules already and i won’t be carrying on the treatment. I personally feel that if i go down the route of anti fungal regimen i need something to aim for and i need to do it properly. Why would propecia give me a fungal infection? i have developed quite bad red itchy skin on the scrotum since crashing but i know things like that can be caused by poor hormones and so on.

19, i sounds like you have prostatitis, you should try and get that looked at asap. When i had my best recovery period i was getting slight pains in my abdomen, groin but everything else was perfect. Now, i am back to baseline/ severe symptoms and pain isn’t an issue for me at all.

Prescription medications are known to cause ulcers and upset the digestive system.

?

I know that. But it i doubt the cause for all our problems is a fungal infection. Why don’t you try Nystatin is you think so Martin?

I don’t think fungal infections are the cause of PFS as I have argued adamantly in the past. I was responding to the question of how finasteride could cause fungal infections. If prescription medications can upset digestive flora than it stands to reason that a fungal infection can result.

I have been tested negative for candida so why should I try nystatin?

19, you mention in passing you are not convinced by androgen insensitivity, yet you were constantly pushing this theory as the most applicable and incessantly posting in awor’s procaine thread? How bad are your sides currently?

I was a big supporter of awors theory and even tried mild demethylating agents. My problem with it is i’m not sure it is applicable TO ME and my situation. I still support his idea as a possibility but FOR ME i am not sure it makes sense due to the issues of pain, of improvement on doxycycline. Also when on tribulus androgenic function increased and i had rapid hair loss, excess sweating, strong (but more painful) erections and high libido. In other words i felt like i was on excess androgens. I felt absolutely shit when on it but had all these “improvements”. Also my hormones have nearly always been normal.

At the moment i am doing okay but i am on holiday so have more time to relax. Next week i start work again. I was telling someone in a pm but yesterday i managed to orgasm 4 times in quick succession and was able to hold an erection for each one. Unfortunately today this has not been the case. It always feels as if my body wants to say have a strong erection but something painful or more like discomfort holds it back. Its curious though because the first orgasm last night felt like my prostate exploded and was pretty darn painful. I think this was because i took a long time to arouse myself so things worked up to it so when i went for it i was literally bursting to go (or come (haha)).

For me the prostate feels like an issue. Before doxycycline i had no pain but also zilch function. After more pain and more function. I don’t know why there is pain or why i respond to antibiotics. There is no strong argument for the improvements i have had if i follow the androgen hypersensitivity model. Awor postulates that there is an epigenetic effect of antibiotics but to be honest it isn’t very convincing as established epigenetic drugs did nothing for me. Perhaps my body has recovered from the androgen issues but not the prostatic ones. But then without doxy i doubt this would have been the case.

Perhaps nystatin is worth a shot and dexa.

Actually looked it up nystatin is NOT absorbed in the gut.

I decided to try nystatin, I have had cloudy/white urine intermittently for months, fungus on 3 toes which I never had before, chronic fatigue etc etc…

Anyway I took my first 500,000 ui on Saturday one in morning and again in the eve… I woke up Sunday feeling flu like and from then have deteriorated maintaining the same does, I went to work on Monday but I have had to take the last two days off and have literally just been in bed feeling like complete crap…

I am hoping this is a ‘die off’ reaction due to a toxin release into the body, obviously it could be a huge coincidence… the first 2/3 days the white/cloudy urine did increase. My concern is how long this will last and if I am doing the right thing.

For info I have cut out sugar completely since Saturday too, nothing not even fruit…

I am aware that self medicating is far from ideal, but after numerous dr appts im getting absolutely nowhere, ihatepropecia’s results seem very encouraging and I did/do have definite candida symptoms.

On another note sexually I have felt a bit better since taking nystatin but this is being masked by this horrible flu crap…

Anyway thoughts are welcome, anyone else had anything similar?

Cheers.

“Note that any treatment of a chronic fungal infections may cause a flu-like illness, skin rashes or an initial worsening of current symptoms. This is cause by the fungal organisms dieing and is known as a Herxheimer reaction. The reaction can last from a few days to a few weeks. The longer the reaction, the more severe the fungal problem. Taking Essiac tea twice a day can hep to minimise the reaction.”

These two links are very useful to you… Dr. Emerson has a vast amount of information on his website…

Thanks, will have a read…

Can i remind you that oral nystatin will not accomplish anything as it is not absorbed unless you are using it intravenously which i doubt is the case.

Is anyone still taking nystatin and seeing positive results?

I know so many of the things that offer any improvement eventually fade. I’m just wondering if anyone has seen any positive benifits over more than a couple of weeks.

What? Ihatepropecia is taking oral nystatin, and feels fantastic…

This medicine is not absorbed into the bloodstream and should not be used to treat fungal infections or disease involving the whole body (systemic mycoses).

It only treats mouth, and gut.
