Quick update:

I’ve stopped taking the safed musli due to an onset of gastro intestinal upset (abdominal pain).

Instead, i’ve started taking vitamin K2 as according to the following study, vitamin K2 helps with the synthesis of testosterone:
viewtopic.php?f=5&t=6277&p=52869#p52869

i have also started taking Sea kelp which contains iodine and helps with thyroid function.

I’ve recently started taking Tribestan which is supposed to be around 50 times stronger than normal tribulus products.
So far i’ve noticed that it seems to be working, my balls are around twice as big and my sexual performance is improved.
One thing for sure i’ve noticed - Tribestan works much better on me than Clomid or Sustain Alpha.

So i’m taking:

Nutri adrenal (cortisol tablets)
2 or 3 tablets per day to help my adrenals
I’ll probably continue to take these for the next few months under the guidance of my doctor and then will hopefully be able to wean off.

Tribestan - tribulus to boost testosterone. 1 or 2 tablets per day.
will continue taking this for the next 3 or 4 weeks max.

Life Extension Super K2 - Vitamin K2 supplement to help with the absorption/synthesis of testosterone.

Sea Kelp - very low dose every other day to assist with thyroid function

Triphala - an ayurmedic supplement.
1 tablet every other day before bedtime for mild colon cleansing.

Slow release Vitamin C - for immune system

Copper - 2mg daily

Zinc - 15mg daily

I still have some tamoxifen left but won’t be taking anymore unless i have another recurrence of gynecomastia.

I had a big improvement with the Tribestan for a few days, but then I developed a nasty pain in my right testicle.
so I have stopped taking Tribestan and the pain has thankfully subsided.
I don’t know what caused the pain, maybe an increase in T and thus an increase in estrogen? as testosterone converts to estrogen.
The testicular pain that i experienced when taking Tribestan, was very similar to the testicular pain that i experienced when taking finasteride.

Anyway i will continue taking the other supplements, as they are helping me.
My main supplement is nutri-adrenal. This is necessary as my adrenals are not producing enough cortisol, as shown by the saliva tests.
Hopefully the low dose of cortisol everyday will help to reverse my HPA axis dysfunction.

My main focus over the next few months will be to go back and see my doctor and ask for some further tests specifically related to adrenal functioning.
Getting a good nights sleep will be another area that i am going to focus on.
I find that an afternoon or early evening nap helps me, but this is not always possible in todays lifestyle.

Which of these doctors is doing the Adrenal stress test? What are their contact details noniman? I knew you were’nt seeing NHS doctors

BTW has anyone in the UK found a way of getting a TRUS done?
cheers

Dr Myhill does an adrenal stress test (24 hr 4 x cortisol)

drmyhill.co.uk/

I think she uses lab 21 - there are 3 good labs in the UK where you can get the test, use google

The doctor that ordered the adrenal test (Dr McGovern) is based in Dublin. His full contact details are in this post:
viewtopic.php?f=12&t=5948

He is a very understanding doctor and was also able to prescribe Clomid And Cialis etc, sadly neither of which have cured me.
I’ll be going back to see him again as soon as I can afford it.

You don’t need to travel to Dublin though … a local doctor should be able to order an adrenal test for you.

You could ask for a TRUS via an NHS urologist in the UK, although your GP would need to need to refer you to a urologist first.

You’d be better going to see a urologist privately and pay for it yourself as this would be much quicker.
Or if you have private health insurance you could use that.

Quick update.
things have been better than usual for the past few weeks after some heavy workouts.

I’m still taking the following supplements daily:

  • Nutri adrenal
  • 50mg Zinc Picolinate
  • 4mg chelated copper
  • 150ug Magnesium Bisglycinate

All these are my staple supplements and seem to be helping.
After quitting propecia, my right testicle was in a very bad state but the zinc and copper seem to be helping to restore it to normal size.

Sometimes i take probiotic tablets before a healthy meal, as a recent stool analysis showed that i have low levels of healthy gut bacteria.
Not sure what caused this, but possibly a combination of propecia and antibiotics.

I plan to eat more raw foods before and after workouts such as bananas, raw spinach, salads and smoothies.

Thanks for the advice, I already paid for a private urologist but he saw no need for a TRUS.

You went to see Georgiadis last year, are you still taking anything he prescribed? or are you just following the advice of the new doctor from Dublin?

Dr Georgiadis did not prescribe anything other than antibiotics.
Its unlikely that i will be going back to see him as i did not experience any significant improvement from the prostate therapy.
Instead i hope to receive further treatment via Dr McGovern or Dr Rynne, who are based in Dublin (Ireland).

My main focus is to continue to treat my adrenal issues, as recent saliva tests showed that i have low cortisol.
I started taking Nutri adrenal (cortisol supplement), however recently i switched to another (high quality) brand called Cytozyme-AD.

Blood tests immediately after quitting propecia showed that i had elevated prolactin levels, so i have started taking vitamin B6 to control prolactin levels.
A number of studies have been done that indicate that B6 supplementation increases Growth Hormone and reduces Prolactin.
Here are a couple from Pub Med:
ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pu….
ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/…/pubmed/7088124

Vitamin B6 didn’t have much affect on me at first, but after a few weeks i’ve started to notice improvements in the libido area and frequency of erections.
I’m taking 100mg per day. Anything above 400mg is supposed to have a toxic affect.

So my current regime is:

  • Cytozyme-AD (2 tablets per day to assist with adrenal deficiency)
  • 50mg Zinc and 8mg Copper per day (for general sexual function)
  • 100mg Vitamin B6 per day (to increase Growth Hormone and reduce Prolactin)
  • Exercise every day. Heavy weight lifting twice per week and cardio/swimming on the other days.
  • Moderate alcohol intake

I will be increasing the Vitamin B6 to 200mg per day. Patient B had good results from Vitamin B6, as listed here:
viewtopic.php?f=3&t=5034&start=0

The effects of Vitamin B6 subsided after a few weeks, so i have stopped taking it completely.

I recently tried some chlorophyll tablets after reading the following webpage:
prostatitis.org/iwfmart.html
The chlorophyll tablets seemed to make my condition WORSE, especially shrinkage and imsomnia. I would advise anyone trying it to be very careful.

I have recently started using transdermal progesterone cream daily.
Progesterone seems to help my libido but its not something that i want to take long term.

I’m also taking a good brand of aloe vera juice before meals, probiotics, 50mg Zinc and 4mg Copper per day.
also ‘deer antler velvet’ tablets before a workout.

My doctor gave me a repeat prescription for Cialis 10mg, which i will take once per week.

I’m approaching two years off propecia.
I have made some mistakes in my life, but i can honestly say that taking finasteride was the biggest mistake in my entire life.
Hopefully some day i will be back to my normal self.

Something i need to read up on further:

Methylation of 5-AR 2 promoter may account for low or absent expression of 5-AR 2 in some human adult prostate tissues:
ukpmc.ac.uk/abstract/MED/2130871 … 12EFS75E.0

Low expression of AR in normal prostate cells can be reversed by adding 5-Aza-2-deoxycytidine (5-AZA), a demethylating agent:
ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/23012352

Update on current regime:

-Methylcobalamin 1000 mcg sublingually
-Methyltetrahydrofolate 800mcg (ActiFolate)
-Pyridoxal-5-phosphate 100mgs (50mgs twice daily)
-Glutathione 250mgs daily

I’m also going to include the following:-

  • CoQ10
  • D-Ribose
  • Vitamin D

All this is to help with the methylation cycle:
drmyhill.co.uk/wiki/CFS_-_The_Methylation_Cycle

I would be interested to include a good multivitamin.
If anyone can recommend a good multi vit, please post here.

research into dessicated liver as a multi vitamin substitute.

I’m still taking the Vitamin B12, Pyridoxal-5-phosphate (Vitamin B6), Actifolate and Glutathione 250mgs daily.
I took all of this for several weeks with no improvement.

Then i added in D-Ribose, Sunflower Lecithin & Panthothenic Acid.
At this point i started to see improvement in fatigue and strength. D-Ribose definitely helps me build muscle.
I’m going to continue with this regime for the next few weeks at least.

I’ve also started taking Burdock root (a powerful blood cleanser), which will hopefully help to strengthen my liver.

Update on current regime

  • Omega 3 Fish oil daily

  • Transdermal progesterone, once every 2 or 3 days.
To control estrogen dominance. I apply it to my abdomen area.

  • Calcium/Magnesium butyrate EOD.
Butyrate is an antifungal and Histone Deacetylase Inhibitor.
    cfwellness.com/articles/butyrate
Around 2 to 3 hours after taking butyrate, i experience some shrinkage but then things improve afterwards.
My sleep and nocturnal erections have improved since starting the calcium/magnesium butyrate.

  • Choline bitartrate EOD, on the days that i don’t take butyrate.
Choline Bitartrate holds a critical role in terms of brain and nerve functions, helping to produce the neurotransmitter acetylcholine, which impacts things like appetite, behavior, memory and mood.
    Read more: What Is Choline Bitartrate? | eHow.com ehow.com/facts_5040245_choli … z2GLsiT5O9

  • D-Ribose tablets
Before/after a workout to help with muscle recovery.

  • Multi vit everyday (Multibionta Probiotic)

It will be interesting to see if the butyrate helps me, if taken long term…

Interesting:-

More recent research suggests that Butyrate quells the storm of cytokines that causes inflammation in the brain leading to scarring and cell death. By doing so, it is thought that chronic degenerative diseases like Alzheimers, ALS, and others may be slowed or even reversed.

Butyrate also helps clean the liver, the gall bladder, and biliary tree in the liver. It also helps clean the bowel, helps control ammonia, and removes unwanted “renegade fats”.

Two and a half years off propecia and i can safely say that all my mental side effects have gone and that finally, i feel ‘myself’ again.
Insomnia issues have mostly gone, but sleep quality is still not 100%. I’d say around 80%.

I’ve stopped all supplements except a multivit and berocca every morning. High grade fish oil (omega 3) twice per week.

I am still suffering with sexual side effects…
Today i have started some hydrogen peroxide therapy to help oxygenate my blood cells.
I’m taking a few drops of 3% food grade hyrogen peroxide in a full glass of water, each day.

One guy has had success with and it cured him of impotence completely:
drdavidwilliams.com/hydrogen … z2PVcaGLQq

Hydrogen peroxide oxygenates the tissues, and the mechanisms that promote erections are driven by the level of oxygen available to them. This helps explain why anything that restricts oxygen from reaching the penile tissue—physical injury, diabetes, high blood pressure, smoking, or atherosclerosis—can cause impotency.

Sexual arousal triggers the body to produce nitric oxide, which in turn causes the spongy portion of the penis to relax and fill with blood while simultaneously constricting the veins leading away from the penis. The result is an erection. Research has shown that blood containing higher levels of oxygen causes more nitric oxide to be created.

Any update on the hydrogen peroxide?
