NEW BLOOD TEST (Good news - big jump in T)

I have been trying to take care of the side effects, i.e. treat the side effects, and have been feeling better, sometimes like normal.
This is a prostate problem, I’m almost a hundred percent sure. When I don’t feel discomfort, everything is fine again.
I have been trying to eat broccoli whenever possible (it really works on a regular basis), no excessive standing, basicly whenever discomfort, treat it… And I have also been eating healthier than ever, taking fish oils, trying to stay away from animal fats, also vitamin C is good.
I can feel my prostate churning inside, and when it is right, I am right, and fine, but still it acts up a lot still, and things clam up, so I am not healed yet, but I am desperately trying!!

And btw, sorry to hijack this thread if thats what you think I’m doing, but my doctor told me today my T went up to !! 671 !! free T 12. I couldn’t believe it!
I followed advice that I got off the internet and didn’t eat for 12 hours prior, also had it taken at 8:21 am.
One other thing, he said he’s still concerned about fertility though because my “FSH is still too high…” @ about 11.5 now, it went up a little again, so he is referring me to a fertility test. He said my LH is fine.

I visited an endocrinologist yesterday. He said that I was the first person to see him about the side-effects of propecia. He looked over all of my blood work and did a physical exam.

He felt my testicles and said that they were firm. He said that men with low testosterone have much softer testicles. He said that he is going to an endocrinologist meeting in a few weeks and will ask the other endocrinologists about their experience. He couldn’t diagnose my problem.

Josh

Tonight I had the best erection and orgasm in at least 1.5 years (when I stopped taking Propecia). My erection tonight felt 100%. When I stopped taking propecia I honestly could barely get my dick hard. At that time I panicked thinking that I would possibly never have sex again.

I have been making progress very, very slowly since I stopped. My testicles still feel smaller and sometimes my dick/testicles shrink in an unusual way. My brain fog, depression, etc. have also subsided although I still feel an unusual type of anxiety often (once per day for a few minutes to a few hours at a time).

I just thought I let you guys know to give you hope. There is light at the end of the tunnel, it just takes a painfully long time to get there. These last couple of years have been unbelievably difficult but this forum has helped me survive. Give your body time to heal itself.

I hope my body continues to improve and doesn’t digress (which it has in the past). I recently posted some pictures of my shrunk dick in the Sexual Side Effects section but those are a few months old.

My protocol has been as follows:

  1. I stopped consuming alcohol and caffeine.
  2. I stopped eating greasy food.
  3. I do aerobic exercise at least 3 times a week for at least half an hour.
  4. I take 50mg of zinc per day.

Best of luck to each of you,
Josh

GREAT Josh!!!

That sounds just great. A friend of mine who has been with the effects for 2 years now experienced the same thing the other day. He got a “rock hard” erection.

Keep fighting my friend.

By the way, your protocol sounds like a good way to go.

Best regards.

Dude, I think its definately a prostate thing. Press on your prostate for a few days in a row and see how things change.
This thing will improve with time.

I have been down at teh Tucson clinic for a few days now, and had some drastic improvements after just a few days.

I’m gonna move down there for about a month, and also take up road biking for a while, and get thiis thing back in working order.’

Man has there been a difference.

Its just an organ, that when not working properly, causes all these side effects. ALL of them! Shrinkage, pain, coldness, and libido loss, blocked nerves, ejaculatory problems, any and all of the urinary problems, erectile dysfunctions. Its where all your penis nerves and veins go through. It also fucks with the adrenal function when its not working properly.

I’m telling you, for all you naysayers out there, push on it for a few days in a row, shake things up, and see how things change drastically!!

Its obvious for me now.
Fin shrunk my prostate a bit in 20 days, and the obstructions inside caused things to get infected, hence all the pain people have.
Pain will eventually go away leaving people to think they’re prostate is fine then, but in reality things are still blocked up around the periphera but they just don’t know it. Push on it a little and see if things flare up, and then see if things improve, and or change, then you’ll know!!

I’m seeing it as physical therapy for my prostate!!

Josh, good luck!!

Hi Boston

I too think its a prostate thing , what are you doing for it .
What do you mean when you say press on it ?
What are they doing in the Tucson clinic ?

Shaun

boston, I know I already asked you this at some point…I can’t remember whether you reponded or not…

but have you tried antibiotics yet for your condition?

Yes … I’ll go take a look. :open_mouth:

Do tell us some details Josh!

I hope this orgasm wasn’t on your own. If it was with a woman, can you tell us where your penis was at the time of the orgasm? I mean, did you blow it down her throat, in her vagina, etc.

I think its important for us to know, it may help others to recover.

Josh, so how are things going lately? I haven’t seen anything from you in a while and so I’m wondering how your progress has been made??
Someone mentioned they had noticed your Free T had gone up quite a bit, and so that could maybe be the reason your health is improving??
Hope you’re doing well, anyway. Could you give us a detailed update on things.

Yes, I’m feeling better (but not 100%) in all areas, both physically and mentally. My erections and libido can use some improvement but they are much better than when I stopped taking finasteride.

I posted my new blood results in that section of this website.

Please take a look and provide us with any insights which you may have.

what are the ranges for your total T?

ur TSH is somewhat high. if it matches the symptoms of hypothyroidism than u may want to discuss with your endo.

good luck

thank you

This ISN’T a HAIRLOSS FORUM. Read the NOTICE at the TOP OF THIS SITE. This forum is for men that had side effects on Finasteride that have yet to resolve since quitting the drug.

Go to hairlosshelp.com for answers about hairloss.

Nobody here will recommend you take Finasteride, the risks are just too great.

Josh, how long have you been off as of the 5th bloodtest? And what is the range for your Total T?

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!!
Try not to think about dicks today, and think about turkey, men!! :astonished:

think about you all the time boston…u turkey.

lol…kidding.

hope u guys enjoyed ur holiday. more so, hope we don’t have any posts that suggest turkey has put their neurotransmitters into a funk mode causing the brain to float around within the head trying to land somewhere.

The blood test did not show a range for free T.

This exam was taken 19.5 months (just over 1.5 years) after stopping propecia.

My main issue I have now is my erection strenght. It gets hard, but takes longer, and isn’t as hard. This may be natural. I’m not 26 and I started taking propecia when I was about 20.

For the older guys, is there a change in erection strength from the late-teens, early twenties to mid-twenties?

The best advice I can give you is not to take an medication and to show your head.

I updated the 5th Blood Test above with my DHT result.

DHT 42 (25-72) -decrease of 12 points since my 3rd Test (which was about 9 months ago).

I wasn’t taking zinc during the time I took the 3rd Test and now I’m taking 30mg of zinc daily so I wonder why my DHT has decreased.

It could be a normal fluctuation but I don’t know.

Do we have any doctors on here?

Josh
