My problem...............advice anyone?

I too was diagnosed with SD and a scalp infection after fin. My scalp itches, is red and has those weird white flakes coming off. And as a bonus to this, my scalp still sweats like crazy! I too think in many situations how the “old me” would be enjoying the situation…hairloss combined with all these fin-induced problems is depressing as hell.

Edit: You should get that under control as if it gets bad it can cause hairloss.

Thanks for the advice Onni and Mew. Although it’s not the most important concern its the summation of all of them at once which makes it hard to cope. I’ve over the last few days relapsed a little in the sense energy has gone down. Sexually things have dipped again.

How are you Mew? Have you tried anything yet?

Ok.

Tomorrow i will be trying xyrem. Thats right. I have tried everything else to no avail and luckily i can get easy access to the drug via connections. So i pray that it may help in some way. I don’t want to get my hopes up but i will keep all informed.

Hmm, another taker for the GHB treatment. I’m interested in your progress with it, since I’m really beginning to feel that the drug’s effect on our nervous system is a primary reason for the prolonged problems. Best of luck to you dude.

Just a quick update.

I took Xyrem for a couple nights and it did help my sleep and fatigue issues somewhat. I didn’t note any sexual improvement but since i only took it for a 2 nights - 1 of which i missed a dose i don’t think it is an indication of not working. Besides it is not a cure after all - just something to help let the body cure itself.

I have decided to continue treatment in a few weeks after a get through this stressful period i am in. I am stopping for now because i feel my body is fighting it because of the additional stress. Last time this stressful period of work happened things did get worse for me temporarily esp. sexually and mentally.

The “stress” issue which i think my body is under would account for the problems at hand i think (vision issues - can happen in exhaustion, impaired recovery of sexual issues, bad sleep leading to brain fog, increased hairloss and sebacceous dermatitis, general hormonal imbalance) and until i remove all obstacles i don’t think xyrem will be able to overcome that uphill battle. I’ll keep you informed when i go back on it. I am hopeful though that it will help.

There might be ve very precised reason why your nervous system is not working properly. In my case it is Chlamydia Pneumoniae.

starting back on xyrem now. keep you updated.

I need to be positive yet i don’t want to get my hopes up. Tricky thoughts…

Does anyone have any other suggestions treatment wise?
Any further tests i should take?
General health tips?

I really want to tackle this now as i have time off.

Tried cabergoline? don’t remember how your prolactin was…
is vision still messed up? Mine is 80-90% back to fine. What are the remaining problems?

Vision still messed up. Floaters, ghosting, starbursts, halos, sensitive to light, not focussing greatly when i wake up they feel really dry. The eyes really get me down.

Other problems - penis size, maintaining erection, mind still a bit fuzzy, tiredness

been on xyrem 3 nights - haven’t noticed much change yet. But i am sleeping. So thats a plus.

Haven’t tried cabergoline. I think my prolactin was fine.

I may try to get some more blood tests done but not sure which ones. Testosterone, Prolactin, Oestrogen, ???

Did you have similar eye problems?

another thing which i’ve noticed for a while is a lower abdominal pain that comes and goes. Could this be prostatitis?

If it is how could i go about treating it?

Yes I had/have similar problems, my right eye still feels weird. Does not focus well and there is mild pain behind the eye. No longer sensitive to light or really swollen.

I think a course of antibiotics is a normal treatment for prostatitis. Could perhaps even explain your dick issues. Good luck…

thanks onni. great help.

Is the general consensus that the prostatitis people experience is bacterial or nonbacterial?

a concern i have is that my high DHT could cause prostatic enlargment. Is this possible?

I posted articles contending that prostatitis may have a link with abacterial prostatitis (see in prostatis section and others studies section), if anybody is interested…

for me its interesting because everyting seem to be normal except high estradiol&prolactin (i’m supposed to treat this in a near future with my doc) and i do have a painful discomfort in the pelvic and prostate area.

i can vouche from my experience that the prostatitis and our problem in general is a nonbacterial one and is hormonal related. I know for a fact that since I’ve started xyrem and even off of it now I don’t have any more prostatits symptoms at all. In fact all symptoms were gone within a day or two.

An update:

Okay been on xyrem for five days now. I have noticed the following: better sleep, better sensitivity in penis, possible increase in girth (varies), a bit more energy. However, since i started a pain has come in my left lower side which i think is most likely prostatitis. I think it may be bacterial in nature though as i had burning sensation when passing urine and my estrogen’s seem ok. Also at times it can make me feel really quite physically ill. The occasional chill. Also the pain seems to outweigh the urgency although there is some. Normally in things like BPH the pain comes later.

It is thought that the interaction between DHT and oestrogen is what causes as the hyperplasia of the prostate and not just DHT alone. As DHT remains fairly constant throughout life in most people. However it may be that since we took a drug for high DHT and hair loss that we generally do have high DHT.

So i think i need to get a sample to the doc and try to identify the bacteria. I am strangely intrigued as to whether this is what is causing all the sexual problems and if it is it is curable. Although it may take a while.

19 you should do the following tests right now:

Ch. pneumoniae - full panel
Mycoplasma pneumoniae - full panel
Ch. Trachomatis - full panel
Lyme disease (boreliosis)-- PCR real time test

There are some other pathogens but these 4 above are the most important.

a couple of questions about this:

how do you get these tests? are they expensive? do you need a doctor to prescribe them or can you get them on your own?

You can get them on your own. At least it goes like this in Poland.

Tests are pretty expansive, especialy PCR real time test for boreliosis. It is about 80 euro.

WTF! Are we on to Lyme disease now?! How the hell would Fin cause lyme? IT CAN’T! This proves you are an absolute idiot troll and should not be allowed to post here! Guys, stop listening to gottaproblem cause you’ll be wasting your time if you do.
