My life is ruined with only 3 doses of finasteride

Towards the end of 2022, my stools were rarely well-formed. Either they looked like pebbles or mush. I’d say I had a normal stool once every 60 days.

These days, I’m seeing much better formed stools. I estimate about 3-4 days a week I get normal stools.

It’s been over 3 years since this nightmare started. I’m still seeing improvements. Hope you’re all doing well.

Glad to see you improving, brother. I hope you’ll recover completely one day and never come back to this board.

So bit of an update.

Over the weekend, I felt “funny” and had developed some pretty bad migraine along with a mild fever. My body also felt like it was sapped of energy. Then my throat started hurting massively.
Turns out I have COVID.

Thankfully, I don’t appear to have any other symptoms, and the throat pain appears to be going away finally. The pain was excruciating. I’ve never felt anything like it.

Hopefully, my first experience with Covid is my worst and that future infections will be milder.

Update:

I recovered mostly from COVID. I still cough a bit and have phlegm in my throat, but hopefully that passes in the coming days.

In terms of PFS, I’ve been thinking about how a lot of my bodily pain went away after I supplemented vitamin D. It makes me think that maybe my issues are due to some sort of vitamin or mineral deficiencies.
I researched which vitamins and minerals have a connection to testosterone, and it seems Zinc and Magnesium play some role. In the coming days, I’ll start supplementing magnesium along with vitamin D to see if there’s any improvements to my libido.

As always, I’ll document any changes to my symptoms.

Just another mostly pointless post, but I get some kind of psychological calm when I post my thoughts down here.

For the past few weeks, I feel that my body broke past another barrier and is “normalizing”. I actually didn’t realize it, as the change was subtle. I don’t really know how to explain it, but for the first time since this whole issue started more than 3 years ago, I actually feel mostly “normal” both physically and mentally. I know I still have some issues left (Slight insomnia and low libido), but I just feel that I’m getting better even though I don’t perceive any improvement in a while. I hope this is a sign of more improvements to come.

Bit of an unfortunate update:

I bought a bottle of Turmeric the other day and it may have set me back. I felt some head pressure and noticed my libido was even lower than usual. My balls were also hurting last night. Turns out Turmeric is a 5AR inhibitor, though milder than finasteride.

Well, I only hope I don’t crash. Wish me luck, brothers.

The ball pain went away thankfully.
Head pressure is also gone.
Libido has recovered back to pre-Turmeric, I think.

Sleep is kind messed up, atm. Heart is also beating faster. Hope to report more improvements in the next few days.

I think I recovered from my mini-crash from Turmeric. My sleep’s been getting better, actually. I think I’m able to get ~7 hours each night now. No improvements to libido, unfortunately.

My digestive system has been acting up again the past couple of weeks. It’s not as bad as it was at my worst, but I clearly feel some bloating.

I’ve eliminated dairy from my diet again.

My digestive issues got a bit better since a month ago. I don’t know why it suddenly got worse last month, but I’m hoping I see more recovery in the coming weeks.

I’ve upped my exercise routine and I’m doing an hour of elliptical every few days. My weight is down to 154 lbs again. Need to cut out fast food and other unhealthy meals.

how would you say is your baseline laying at nowadays? i know putting it at number is stupid, but im really curious. keep on going, anyways

Baseline is good, I guess. Libido still sort of low.

My digestion is better now than last update. I think I have a problem with hard-boiled eggs. I’ll have to steer clear of those.

Other than that, I’m trying to live my life as best as I can. I don’t think I’ll ever truly fully recover, but life is “tolerable”.

Digestion continues to improve and daily stools are starting to look more “normal”.

I will continue to avoid eggs.

Since I took PFS, my sleep quality hasn’t completely recovered. Sometimes I’d get 7-8 hours, but usually I cap at 6 hours.

I’m wondering if sugar is causing my sleep problems. I’ve noticed that when I get sleepless nights, my heart is pounding so hard. I’ve also felt this sensation whenever I have caffeine or eat a bunch of sweets. I also have a lot of fruit around 8PM every day.

I will abstain from nightly fruits and see if my sleep improves.

I just completed a 72-hour water fast.

I’m sticking to a low-carb diet for now.

So far, I’ve had diarrhea since breaking the fast. Let’s see if I have any digestive improvements.

Maybe you should try fecal transplant

I will do this as a last resort.

I think I finally narrowed down my problem foods - eggs and peanuts. I’ll try to avoid these as best I can.
