Me

Have not posted for a while.

Am having two days worth of tests at the local hospital regarding my eyes. The doc said that he too sees that there is something going on with the right one and they even scheduled an MRI. I’m sure they will find out what’s going on.

Skin is still dry and dull looking and the area around my eyes looks hollow and weird: as if I aged very fast during this year while on and especially after dropping the med.

Dick is looking a bit better but far from what it was: rought texture, some narrowing, curvature and a rubbery “distant” feeling to it.

I am having great difficulties in getting my weight and bod back to where it was even if my T level is 32, I don’t feel like I used to. I don’t think it will do much, but I have dropped smoking, caffeine and am on a high protein-low carb diet. I have been working out for so many years that I know how my body reacts, and this s*it has been everything but normal. I used to have almost no ass and big shoulders&arms, now my ass and thighs seem to hold most of the fat…perhaps this is the result of high prolactin after fin and will be gone with time and diet?

I will post once things improve…best of luck to all.

Oh and I stumbled upon bubka’s posts. I cannot tell how bad that made me feel. At least here in Europe it’s considered bad taste to make fun of other people’s health problems, what ever the root cause of them might be. At least I had testicular ultrasound and a brain MRI done, and all of these issues started while I was on a hormone altering drug, so it does not take much logic to pin point the reason. Oh well.

Edit: I am still on cabergoline 0.25mg every three days and an antibiotic.

How did your mri turn out ?
mine in 2 weeks

hey onni

you said the doc saw there was something wrong with your right one. What did he see wrong with it? Maybe i could ask an eye doc to look for a similar thing?

please let me know

I had a pituitary MRI before, this one is for the eyes. Have not had it nor the rest of the tests yet. I answerer your PM, 19. She just said it looked like something is not completely right and was determined that the cause will be found.

Saw my uro again, gave me one more course of antibiotics and viagra, thinks it’s just prostatitis. Agreed that it does not explain the gyno that was removed and should not cause physical changes to ones genitalia, but can’t do much more as hormones are back now. Mentally im about fine, and my last hormone and blood tests showed that everything was fine.

Dick is still not back, feels rubbery and looks rough/unhealthy. Stinging pains and loose veins still there - as if healthy tissue is missing. Curvature still present. I feel pressure behind my scrotum when i’m excited, like blood flow is still restricted…some sort of PD/fibrosis or a prostate issue? A combination? Even morning erections are soft now and no crazy “piss boners” like before this mess. This is not a hormonal problem anymore, quite sure of that.

Talked to the uro, will have an ultrasound after the antibiotics, if things don’t get better.

It has been exactly one year now. Will check back if things improve. All the best.

I hear what you’re saying…

Although “not hormone related…” I’m not sure if I agree with you there. I think I’ve heard even slight imbalances to your “normal” T:E ratio can cause these, and other (prostate) issues. Even when levels “appear” to be normal. They talk about this all the time over on Meso-Rx, and Dr. John’s website.
Isn’t this why you ended up with gynocemastia?
Slight E increases can cause prostate issues, according to some people out there.
So just don’t count it out completely!!!..

My E2 was fine, it was prolactin related. But yes, it proves that my hormones weren’t fine at that point! All I know is that it started with a ball ache and after quitting i woke up with a numb palewhite cold dick and an achy chest! My semen is still yellowish, so that suggests everything isn’t fine prostate wise. This is most probably a problem caused by both hormones and the prostate, can’t think of anything else. But can prostatitis directly cause changes in the dick i.e. bending, thinning…I don’t think so.

Alrighty.
I’m going to take this course of antibiotics and schedule with my uro to rule out a physical problem. Will ask for some kind of ultrasound and an xray to rule out any other problems. He is convinced it’s prostate problem.

Oh, my endo also took a bloodtest called “DNA”, any ideas on this one? Is it to rule out Kilinefelter’s genetic diseases? He did not comment on the result and said everything was fine, so that one came out clear.

Also, are there any antidepressants that are safe? My mental side needs something to get over this phase. The pams were useless even at 7.5mg.

wellbutrin my key oard crashed

We don’t have that here. How about Lexapro(under a different name here)…it is an SSRI though.

Personally I think adding anti depressants into the situation is a bad idea. Too many variables, and docs will simply tell you your problems are due to drugs OTHER than Finasteride if you continue to take them after quitting Fin.

If Fin is the only drug you’ve taken in your life, they can’t make such claims against you.

popo i don’t understand what are you saying about weebutrin, i’am on this drugs… can you explain better?
thanks

That it’s safe, duh.

There are risks with every medication. Do your research before you take them.

yes, i’ve done a lot of research about this drug. I know the potential and the risks… i was only asking to popo if he had sides from wellbutrin and if yes, which sides…

I personally dont take wellbutrin, but if i were to take an antidepressant i think this would be it.
I was on anti depressant long time ago, and what it does to libido ain,t pretty, wellbutrin has not got negativ effect on libido, it even gets better in some cases.
Dont know of all the risks, you should read up but for me personally i won,t take anything again wich kills my libido.

Have not been here in a while.

Took the last vision tests today and an MRI of the eye and the eyesocket(?). Still get mild pains in my right eye. This will rule out a physical problem.

Feeling a bit better, main problem is still downtown. The genital pains are better after the antibiotics, although the “new veins” still sting. Very weird. Dick feel and look is not completely back, Feels and looks better when in a hot shower, so that would (i am not a doctor) indicate a prostate or blood flow issue.

Visited a GP and told her about these mental problems (did not mention fin or specify why i’m feeling this way) as this has been a very hard time for me. Got a prescription for mild benzos and Lexapro(different name here). Took the prescription and will have to do a real risk/gain-analysis over the weekend. I really want my life back and some help to mentally battle this, but it could very well fuck me up even worse. She said nothing bad would happen, but this fin business has made me paranoid in this matter.

I am also taking a biological drug called Humira for arthritis, which relieved me from ALL RA-pains I have battled for ten years now. Too bad this shit happened, otherwise life would be Perfect now. Can’t really enjoy being able to run and live without pains like this.

Scheduled a uro appointment and will ask for more tests. This HAS to get fixed. Good luck to everyone.

Got the same prescription for Lexapro, given to treat anxiety, but it’s an SSRI so I haven’t filled it yet. While it’s a small dose, I prefer to be in control of what goes into my body, and Lexapro doesn’t pass the trust test so far.

I took Lexapro for 8 months once. I still had sex all the time. Its actually a great drug, to try to get you undepressed. Just dont take too much. I was prescribed 10mg/day, but often would take half (5mg/day) when I felt too “doped up”.
I din’t have much sexual dys, although I’m sure 10-20mg will cause you to lose a little interest at times, until it wears off after noontimes.
But again, its good drug.
It might help you relax, and surprisingly, and I may get flamed for this, but help you get your mojo back. Peace

I don’t know, I’ve read (though I have nothing handy to back this up) that SSRIs have been known to cause libido loss and sexual dysfunction, and for this reason I would never take an SSRI in this condition. I’m sure it’s harmless for most people, though.
