My symptoms are severe insomnia, myopathy, and joint pain. I avoid most soy products generally because of isoflavones.
Fermented soy contains 20 times more genistein than unfermented soy foods. It also contains higher amounts of daidzein, biochanin A and equol. According to this study: https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/7490559/, genistein, biochanin A, and equol are the most potent 5ARIs among soy isoflavones/isoflavonoids.
I have not tried 자장면 or zhajiangmian, just watched too many youtube videos and wanted to try it.
Don’t let my post scare you or discourage you from eating 자장면 if it previously did not cause problems.
