What tests did he prescribe?
Don’t know. Ask doc.
Based on en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aldosteronism, symptoms of impotence and libido are not connected to aldosteronism… but they are connected to its treatment via oral Spironolactone.
Yes, Spiro is prescribed to reduce elevated Aldosterone levels. But you can also get surgery done to remove a benign tumor causing the issues, if that is indeed what is causing the problem (so you wouldn’t need to take Spiro).
Unfortunately Spiro is an anti-androgen and has sexual side effects, and can cause gynecomastia. There are other Aldosterone antagonists that may work differently, ask your doc.
But this is jumping ahead – you need to see what your tests turn up to determine next steps.
You should ask the doctor that prescribed it. I don’t know how long you’ve been taking it, or how you’re supposed to quit (ween off or just stop?). Maybe if you’ve only been taking a few days its ok to just stop, but check with your doc.
If it were me, I wouldn’t take it at same time I did the tests, just to be sure it wasn’t influencing results. I’d give myself at least a week or two after stopping GHB before I took the tests.
