There is one thing that is confusing to me about the recommended diet changes:
How do you eat gluten-free and paleo diet while also doing carb backloading?
The website carbbackloading.com mentioned eating junk foods as a mandatory part. The key is just controlling when you eat them.
However, how can you do this while sticking to eating almost no grains and gluten? Unless you eat nothing but healthy vegetables and fruits as your carbs.
Sorry if this was explained earlier, it’s a long thread that i’ve tried to keep up with over several weeks time, but am just now finding time to really plan out how I’m going to follow this protocol.
Yes, entirely understandable.
I am curious about the topic of HCG - not that I want to put any more compounds in me than I have too but if you look up what Eric Potratz has to say about the subject - he recommends the use of HCG to keep the testicles going while using any pro-hormones/steroids. Even further, he states any cycle more than 6 weeks should definitely include it. I’m not positive if he was also recommending the use of HCG along with his products. I thought maybe you stopped at 6 weeks because you didn’t want to risk permanently damaging the testicles - as well as - removing the need to add HCG with your cycle.
Did you ever consider using HCG?
Also, I remember you saying you spoke with Eric in the past and he gave you tons of information - did he ever touch on the subject with you?
No. We never spoke about Hcg because it wasn’t something I needed to worry about. My testicles were functioning fine. Always big and full towards the end of my healing. Our discussions were more about how actually having the precursors to DHT in your system, and then subsequently getting that stuff converted over to DHT, it would increase 5arII expression…as per his opinion.(he believe fin artificially down regulated 5arII expression) I was curious as to how an already reduced metabolite would have an effect on the enzyme that reduces it, but he assured me the science showed that it does in fact have an effect. He said it’s more of a “use it or lose it” type situation. He said just having the presence of the reduced hormone in your system would increase the enzymes that reduce it.
Honestly, it seemed backwards to me, but what the hell do I know? He’s the scientist. I had nothing to lose, took a gamble on the cycle, and never looked back.
Sorry, I should have posted this under my main active name. Silverstrand is my only other user account on here and I dont use it at all. I logged onto a computer I haven’t used in a long time and it had the old account info saved.
Hi Cdnuts,
Yes, entirely understandable.

In looking back over the whole thread, I can see some variation of “how do you eat paleo and carb backload?” and while CDnuts has not answered in-depth, I’m guessing that when he carb backloads, he still eats carbs that are “clean” (like brown rice). This seems to be a violation of the paleo diet, but in reading the book on the paleo diet, there appears to be some room for messing up. I don’t think that it is as strict as like the anti-fungal diets where people say as soon as you eat the wrong thing, you need to start over and keep going for x number of years.
There seem to be at least 5 people trying this protocol. Is there a reason there is not a new thread being started by any of these people to trade advice, give moral support, talk about supplements to order, etc.?
Hey cdnuts,
So i read the article you posted, and after getting no sucess trying trt I decided to get it ago. Wow on the second day I started feeling my body tense up instead of being soft and shit for ages, I felt that stiffness in my neck like that used to be there as if my brain was trying to signal to my muscles, I also noticed this feeling of hunger that I hadn’t had in ages. So I went and had asleep and as I was falling asleep I felt a lot of action going on in my balls and prostate area(for the most part it has felt dead around that area) but felt like all these zaps and shit like electrical pulses I think.
It was really quite weird, I have woken now and my stomach is a bit sore feel like it’s eating itself, I am a skinny dude and there isn’t much to me but I don’t want to starve myself, I’m only in day tw. Does it get easier after day 2?
Appologies about the prior post as u can imagine I’ve become sceptical to a lot of things since this mess started I just want to get better though
I’m well on the road to recovery through following your routine and applying progesterone cream daily. I’m having moments of complete clarity which are unbelievable. During these moments of clarity sexual function also fully returns.
Just a couple of questions:
Did your healing come in waves? With some days almost feeling normal before fading for a few more days?
Also, how did propecia effect the appearance of your face? I still look rough compared with pre-propecia and was wondering whether you experienced improvements with the appearance of your face with the progression of your healing? Things like extra wrinkles, less masculine structure, puffiness etc. basically do you look healthy now as well as feel healthy ?
This is what lead me to believe my problem was heavily neurologically involved. Because clarity always = sexual function. There was a definite link there.
And yes, things sound as though they are on the right track for you. The healing does come in waves with your good days slowly outlasting your bad days until all you have are good days. But in the beginning, it’s three steps forward, one step back. You’ll finally get a hit of clarity and feel awesome, then it drops and fades for a few before coming back again. This is not only normal, but it’s to be expected.
While I was on fin I was bloated and had a fat, round, feminine shaped face. I can tell you what really helped in that department were the cycles. I noticed after my second cycle I had a very definitive masculine jawline again. My face had become angular and more pointy. This will eventually happen for you, but on a much slower pace if you’re not cycling. The DHT opposes estrogen… VERY effectively. Those are symptoms of estrogen dominance that are not yet under control with you.
If you’re asking me how I look now…I’m going to say damn good…lol. All kidding aside, I look as I should for a 36 year old male. Actually…this is a lie. I’m always told I don’t look anywhere near my age. So draw your own conclusions from that.
I have some DHT boosting cycle supps recommended as the closest alternative to androhard (although everyone seems to rave about androhard and say nothing compares).
I have 5 alpha test and stano elite waiting in the cabinet - what are your thoughts on those? Have you tried either?
CDnuts… any word you’ve heard from that other androhard type product that was coming out of Korea? anything you would take now or recommend looking into now that androhard is gone? thanks for any tips… i found some androhard out there when you first made this post… but was pricey and past expiration… not sure if OK to buy or not
elb, which DHT supps are close to androhard? Can you name them and share your experience with them?
CDnuts, what do you think about Andractim? I know you said you are only familiar with Androhard but would be great if you let me know what you think about andractim based on your exprience and knowledge.
i keep thinking of myself, tears streaming down my face laying in my mom’s house after living there for 2 years (because of PFS, do you think a 23 year old wants to move home?) after my FIRST GIRLFRIEND IN MY LIFE AT AGE 25 broke up with me because my body completely crumbled from PFS. no money because literally all my cash goes to doctors. or the fact that i eat only organic food. or the fact that i spent thousands on supplements.
i’ve also puked multiple times from doing the sprints, and i almost had to puke in a trash can tonight. and i eat the cleanest possible. stop making excuses dude. all i see is excuses in your post. you can’t stop drinking? are you kidding me? i am in COLLEGE and living this way. and ive had PFS for 5 years. talk to me in 2 years dude… TWO YEARS GONE. or the other people that have had TEN YEARS GONE. are you seriously going to waste another second of your life and not do this? this is the only thing i care about in my life is fixing this. i am giving everything to this to be able to have a family and change the world.
career killer? forget your career. all the money in the world isn’t worth my life.
being cured is my only option. listen to that song man, the last verse, i was at the gym tonight doing the sprints, and kept listening to this on repeat, specifically i kept going to 3:00 mark over and over and over again, i literally ran for like an hour and a half after doing some intense sprints, had to stop sprinting because i was about to puke, while continuing to keep listening to it: youtube.com/watch?v=P4Uv_4jGgAM
I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again. If you want to heal, you can’t get fucked up. Period. That’s it. That’s all there is to it. You gotta stay sober. This thing doesn’t care about your personal life or your career. You have to make a decision as to what direction you want to take.
I struggled with this aspect more then the next guy, believe me. And, even if someone had responded to your question of being a “straight edge person that eats healthy” Fixing this thing takes alot more then just that anyway, so It still wouldnt be giving you the answers you seek.
Sorry my man. There is no way around it if you want your sex life back. Time to re-prioritize what’s important to you.
There does seem to be a few straight edge guys on here who eat what is deemed to be healthy, don’t drink etc to the nth degree and yet still seem to make very little progress (bryce54, xhorndog going by their posts). However I don’t think they have followed cdnuts’ plan of fasting then cycling supplements on top of that so it is difficult to draw any conclusions that these methods are flawed.
I agree on the alcohol part. I intend to do all this in the New Year, and don’t mind not drinking for say two months post fast while undertaking this regimen, but beyond that and I’d start to become something of a hermit. I’m only a social drinker but take that away and you’d take away my social life which helps me take me mind off this, not sure I want to give up that just on the very slim chance it might play a very small part in recovery. More importantly, I don’t get this ‘ruined for days’ feeling after a drinking session that many including cdnuts report, so I’m not sure it would be that necessary for me anyway. Sure I feel a bit worse than before, longer hangovers and more noticeable brain fog, but the effects are gone after a day if that and it is also the only time I seem to get a libido. Given that, I’m not looking for a get out clause here I’m just not sure that avoiding all alcohol after an initial period of abstinence is really necessary.
I’ve been drinking quite a bit because drunk is the only time I feel close to my old self in regards to personality and being able to talk straight. I’m not sure why that is. But I would agree that it’s a good idea to not drink during recovery.
I am fine tuning my diet and exercise regime and so would appreciate any suggestions and experience any of you may have with this. First off, I am wondering what the optimal frequency for eating red meat is. I eat red meat on average about 1.5 times per week. Should this be reduced? What sorts of fish yield the best results in your own opinions? In my own experience, salmon seems to offer very good benefits and red meat should be kept to a minimum. In fact, I would venture to say that fish should be eaten more often than poultry and red meat with those who have this condition, especially salmon. As far as cooking oils, any bad experiences with coconut oil? So far I have not had any problems with olive oil and a small amount of organic butter or ghee. Also, in terms of exercise, I tried sprinting about two - three times a week and this lasted for about a couple months before burnout started to set in. As Cdnuts has mentioned, this is not advisable to do long term. I will cut that down to about once or twice a week. Specifically, each sprinting session I sprint a total of about 2000 yards which works out to about one nautical mile. Each sprint is 100 yards long and done at maximum effort. Rest periods vary between 30 seconds to 3 minutes between each sprint. It takes about 35-45 minutes to complete a sprinting session for me depending on how I feel. For high-intensity workouts have any of you tried P90X plyometrics? That really kicks my ass and makes me feel good afterwards (although its recommended only once a week). I wanted to mention that I had a long feel good wave come about for about 2 months, the longest so far ever. It has subsided now with libido dropping some, etc… But these waves keep lasting longer and longer and the bad stints are getting shorter and shorter although they still do happen as it is happening now especially after Thanksgiving when I lost some diet discipline. Lastly, I have a question for cdnuts: when you were in the recovery phase how often would you ejaculate? once a week? once a month? I find that if I ejaculate too frequently things start to go downhill. Again any feedback would be much appreciated.
