If I recall correctly, Awor once said he had just learned how to cope with his sides.
I think thatās true for many sufferers, myself included. At first one is in disbelief and had no idea how they can live a day, let alone a year with these symptoms. But you just accept and adapt to them. People on the whole are pretty damn resilient and can deal with a lot of hardship.
Through time, Iāve learned that we all have different coping abilitites, which I came to believe are probably more relevant than the problem itself.
If I wrote the shit Iāve been through in the past 7 years (so long before Fin), not even my mom would believe me.
And then I see people killing themselves because they lost their job.
We all react differently I guess.
Hey doomed What brand of Lactobacillus plantarum strain PS128 are u using ???
Hey @Rb26dett
I am convinced Tribulus did that to me. Set off an autoimmune reaction.
Think it had beta steroil ingredient in it, same as Saw Palmetto.
Popping joints and beard alopecia with lots of leg hair loss.
It also doubled my cholesterol level and increase my triglycerides level and doubled my thyroid level
Doctor is sending me for more tests in few weeks, think autoimmune tests.
I was recently put on an antibiotic, amoxicillin, and had a noticeable increase in libido
Do we know why this would happen in PFS sufferers?
From a Google search it seems antibiotics generally worsen a personās libido
Did you do it?
Did he have skin damage?
I also had a huge improvement in my libido after using antibiotics, it was temporary and only lasted during the period I used the antibiotic, the question is why has no one followed this line of investigation yet?
If you Google antibiotics and testosterone youāll find lots of results that say antibiotics can alter testosterone levels.
Now, Iām not a doctor or a scientist - Iām not qualified to give advice at all, but based on what Iāve read here, the most common home remedies generally involve trying to manipulate testosterone or DHT levels either directly or via a not understood method that it turns out has that effect. The problem is that changing those levels has resulted in more crashes and worsening symptoms for a number of people. So, something to be aware of if you do want to investigate.
i used antibiotics for 2 weeks. no difference
It is kind of old thread but I wonder if anybody did HMGR antibody tests?
The reason for reconsidering this theory is that my condition keeps fluctuating. Sometime little bit better and other times I feel kind of dead, pain in every joint like wrists, spine, legs, knees etc . pain in colon, stomach, ears etc. when I walk I feel like dragging. Anyway I found many sufferers have reported the same , improvement and then decline again.
My recent blood test showed way above normal cholesterol and doctor called me to take statins. But I have tried statins in 2005 with similar sides as pfs, except those resolved when I stopped statins after taking five pills. I will go back to my doctor and will convince him to write the antibody test instead.
The HMG-CoA reductase (HMGCR) enzyme is found predominantly in the liver, specifically anchored within the membrane of the endoplasmic reticulum (ER).
Here are the details on its localization:
Primary Site (Organ): The liver is the main location, as it is the primary site of cholesterol synthesis in the body.
Secondary Sites (Tissues): It is also found in other tissues capable of producing cholesterol, including the intestines and adrenal glands.
Subcellular Localization (Cell Location): The enzyme is anchored in the membrane of the endoplasmic reticulum (ER), with its active catalytic domain projecting into the cytoplasm. Some studies indicate it is also located in peroxisomes.
Alternative Expression: While the liver has the highest levels, HMGCR is widely distributed throughout the body. In certain tissues like the skin, esophagus, and uterine cervix, alternative splicing variants (specifically HMGCR-1b) can be more highly expressed than the canonical type.
