Anyone using a computer before bed should try this program. It filters blue light out of the screen after sunset and can be customized. Blue light inhibits natural melatonin production. It’s also easier on the eyes (ie reduces eyestrain). Easy, free, and simple.

Hi,

I still suffer major insomnia (0 min sleep / night is common) 4 years after having stopped Propecia.

Are you recovering from your sleep disturbances side effects ?

Thks

You should definitely try the methylation protocol:

My sleep is back to normal and I don’t need no sleep medicine anymore. If you try it, start with low doses.

Have you tried Remeron? Its been a Godsend for my sleep…15 mg a few hours before bed does the trick for me.

Raberduck- you arent waking up at 5:00 AM anymore? Are you sleeping 7-8+ hours straight? Thats a huge indication something positive is going on. Are you dreaming lucidly as well? Any other sexual, physical, or mental improvements as well?

I’ve had periods where my sleep seems to be 100% normal. But sleep problems come back. I’m recently having sleep problems again where every time I start to doze off, I jolt awake. Fucking bizarre.

SAME HERE.

My sleep was SOOOO fucked after I quit. I had many, many nights of zero sleep. I have had the jolt awake just on the verge of sleep thing. I had the wake up at nearly exactly 4am every morning thing. Nowadays, I can fall asleep quickly, but I wake up many times per night; fortunately, I fall back asleep fairly quickly. I estimate I get around 6-7 total hours of sleep a night now.

I think this is an allopregnanolone thing as allopregnanalone induces sleep. But what does this mean? When our sleep is normal allopregnanolone is normal?

Allopregnanolone affects sleep in a benzodiazepine-like fashion.

yeah, your sleep is still screwed up it sounds. I bet you never can sleep 8 hours straight…correct?

About a month ago I could. But not now for whatever fucking reason. Sleep problem comes and goes.

I have the exact same thing. I will be tired as hell, relaxed and start drifting off to sleep and wake with a start. Then I can’t fall asleep again. I think it will be a long time before I ever am able to take a good afternoon nap again.

The last two weeks I had incredible good sleep (8 hours, no waking up in the night, feeling rested in the morning), because I added CDP-Cholin, Tamoxifen (2,5mg) and sometimes Arimidex (0,25mg) to my protocoll. Before that it could have happened that I wake up after 4-5 hours once and then falling back to sleep most times.

Since two days we have a climate like in the rain forest here where I live and my flat doesn’t cool down in the night, so my sleep is a bit more disturbed right now. But I’m convinced there are also non-PFS guys with sleep problem at these temperatures

1 year after my post-fin crash and my sleep is still not right. It was my worst non-sexual side effect.

Granted, it is better than a year ago, when I first crashed and the several months post crash. Now, I usually have one wake up per night and can get a total of 6 to 7 hours of decent sleep. I often wake up feeling rested, but not always. One thing that has developed is what’s called myoclonus, or hypnic jerks (aka sleep jerks), which can be any kind of involuntary limb movement. Mine often occur in my hands and fingers while I’m laying in bed before I fall a sleep, or just after I wake up.

I do have some sexual dreams, but they are random and only occurred once or twice a month. I also get morning and nocturnal erections more often than not. But I do go for stretches when these also subside.

Ohio-guy- when I originally crashed I had horrible myoclonus jumps…but as the months past they seemed to have diminished. Do you still get them often?

Damn another use of anti-estrogen (tamoxifen) seemingly helping. It’s like our bodies are signaling for estrogen.

In my case, the sleep jerks/jumps didn’t start until 10-11 months post-crash. So, I’m not sure they are PFS -related, but I can only speculate they are. I still get them, but only 2-3 nights per week, and they are less severe than when they started.

I am so tired of this crap. I miss my old life.

Hi,

Zoloft (50 mg) + workout has helped me sleeping.

Sleep = 4 hours straight each night approx. since 1 week (have taken Zoloft since 6 weeks)

Maybe my sleep issues weren’t fully related to Propecia persistent side effects. Or these side effects have at least faded away after 4 years

It’s such a relief to sleep even a little bit!

Courage to all

Do you take the Zoloft at bedtime alesiom911?

Do not even consider Zoloft for any purpose

Zoloft = Sertraline

It is one of the worst depression medications you can take.
It can cause major emotional bluntness if you don’t already have that from finasteride?

Zoloft IS NOT a sleeping pill, it’s an anti depressant

You only have to google ‘Zoloft bluntness’ to read how bad it is.

They had me on it for 3 days in this mental home before I even realised what the fuck I was taking!!!

I never knew Zoloft was the same thing as sertraline or else I’d never have taken it in the first place.

Take zopiclone for sleep if your having problems.
