Genetics study: Sample collection to begin

I did mine today. I’m really hoping that it collected enough blood. I actually pressed the button again during the five minutes as I couldn’t see any blood collecting, but on removing it after the time was up there was some, but still pretty paltry. In hindsight I should have contacted them via a Live Chat window whilst the extractor was still on my arm but it’s away now. I’m sure that they’ll be in touch if there’s not enough blood to do anything with. I might contact them tomorrow for reassurance.

Has dante updated your status? I don’t see any update, it doesn’t say that if has reached the lab yet, however it was delivered almost two weeks ago to dante according to the fedex email. thanks

I didn’t get any update from Dante. Sounds like @holyhead is the only one who did.

I’m not sure if you’ll get a notification when it arrives back at the lab. We can see statuses though and I can see yours has been returned!

See this topic now. I recieved the kit a few weeks ago and send it back. Got an email from Dante they received my kit.
You have to read the instruction two or three times.

Sample picked up by FedEx 2 weeks ago today, still not received by Dante

Your kit has been received back, they probably just haven’t updated the status yet.

Sorry there seems to be a bit of a lag!

Thanks for putting my mind at rest.

Mine is still awaiting inspection… Apparently dante from what I have read is very backed up and behind

And it usually takes around 8 weeks from the time they receive your kit back to complete the sequencing where you can see the actual results on your dashboard…

I’m having some shipping problems.

It’s supposed to ship back with FedEx but there’s no drop off points where I live.

How do I ship it back? Ordered pickup off their site and it said that I’d get an email but I never did.

I’ll send you an email with Dante Labs copied in and we can find a solution.

I saw your email was just trying to contact you.

When the package arrived it was with Bring or maybe DHL. Can’t remember exactly because I was sick.

But I’ll also send an email to FedEx. Maybe they have some kind of partnership with another carrier.

I have not logged in here in a long time. I see there is a study advertised in a note at the top of the forum but no link to join, I believe I may be a preferred candidate.

Can someone provide the link to join the study, or instructions on how to private message the administrators of the study? I do not have my story posted publicly, however older members of this forum will know me.

Also, is there no private messaging feature on the forum anymore?

Hello, I’ve just sent you a message. Here’s the place to check to see what the current situation with projects is.

In my opinion, in order to find effective cures scientists need and should collect samples of recovered patients besides non-recovered. To know what recovered-patients have achieved by comparing both may be useful.

In fact, it is very very interesting what makes them recovered. Because, according to our theory that what causes pfs is some epigenetic-modifications which make AR-function distorted and useless, it seems impossible to recover within several years, not to mention within a couple of years. Re-epigenetic-modifications? or true cell Renewal or Replacement (produced by stem-cell after 50-60 times cell-division which only produces daughter-cell as a faithful clone, that is, epigenetical distorted one)? or new additional epigenetic-modifications (which offset the epigenetic-modification causing pfs)? or something else?
