Fasting??

Hey guys…ive been doing some googling and researching about ‘water fasting’… It looks really beneficial…and can boost GH (growth hormones) plus other benefits… like stronger immune system, it removes toxins from the body, and many oher good benefits…I was thinkin that it might ‘reset the body’ as water fasting is supose show that the body is able to heal itself tremedously thru this method…

pls google urself and tell me ur opinions…

thanks…

it’s a last resort

I’ve fasted before and I can attest to the benefits of it. I am actually going to fast again for 22 days this October to try and undo the damage I have done. Long story short, I was being treated for Lyme disease that had manifested itself neurologically. After going through years of poisonous antibiotic treatments and all typs of other drugs I decided to fast. Here’s the kicker though, after finding this website a few months ago I realized that my problems were more related to the propecia I was taking then anything else. I’m glad I found this site but I hope I haven’t done irreversible damage. After my first fast of two weeks, I continued with a raw food diet and started to feel AMAZING. Of course the only drug I started taking after the fast was, yup, you guessed it, PROPECIA. I didn’t want my hair to fall out obviously so after the fast, when my body was in its purist, cleanest state, I started taking propecia again. It literally makes me sick thinking about it. I took it for another year after that and then I found this site. Actually, most of the neuro stuff I had going on wasn’t due to lyme disease at all, but to this poison. I was actually taking propecia the whole time I was being treated for the lyme. How’s that for f’ed up??

So, I’ve been off of it for a good 15 months and I still have a shrunk dick although my ejaculate volume is back up and at a good consistency, i still have a way’s to go before I consider my self normal. My neuro stuff is much much better but my sleep is still shit. I have high hopes for this next fast and then subsequent raw food diet. As I have said on other posts, I will definitely keep the group posted now that I know there are others out there dealing iwth this nightmare. I remember a few weels after my first fast, I masterbated and was actually surprized at how big my cock was. I didn’t realize It had shrunk so much on the stuff but I just thought it was the lyme disease, so, I started taking it again and here we are. Now I know.

If I would have just found this site before fasting the first time, I would probably be 100% by now. I just hope taking again after a fast didn’t hit me too bad. I’ll find out soon.

Fasting is probably the best thing for guys in our situation to do. In my opinion it shouldn’t be viewed as a last resort, because putting more drugs into your body to fix what drugs did in the first place is always going to be a bad idea. Just ask everyone who’s tried it. I

can anyone translate into english??? good or bad would be ok too…

In order to examine a possible detrimental effect of hyperleptinemia on the reproductive system, we examined whether a decrease in circulating leptin levels by fasting affects the estradiol/progesterone-induced luteinizing hormone (LH) and prolactin (PRL) surges in genetically obese OLETF (Otsuka-Long-Evans-Tokushima-Fatty) rats. Experiments were performed on both normally fed and 3-day starved groups from ovariectomized OLETF rats and their controls LETO (Long-Evans-Tokushima-Otsuka). Starved LETO rats, whose leptin levels were less than 0.5ng/ml, did not show a significant surge of either LH or PRL. Normally fed OLETF rats, whose leptin levels were 9.7 ± 1.8ng/ml, showed a significant but small surge for both LH and PRL. Interestingly, starved OLETF rats, whose leptin levels (4.1 ± 0.7ng/ml) were similar to those in normally fed LETO rats (3.3 ± 0.4ng/ml), had significantly greater surges of both hormones than normally fed OLETF group. This study demonstrates for the first time that the normalization of circulating leptin levels in female OLETF rats augments the steroid-induced LH and PRL surges, and also suggests adeleterious effect of hyperleptinemia on the reproductive axis.

I am going to fast on only water for 22 days.

yes , but it is a last resort for people like myself who are borderline underweight to start with.

i hope to hear of your progress

Yes, you’re right about that. Although I’ve seen peope fast until they are skeletal, it is not a pretty sight and takes months of perfect diet and lifestyle to recover. But, if it works, do you think it would be worth it? I will def. let the group know of my experiences.

yes , if it works it would be worth it

well… fasting has many benefits even for slim people!! its not only for the obese or fat…

i may do it for about 2weeks, js to get rid of toxins

This is REALLY interesting.

Upon first reading this, I thought “what, are these guys nuts!?” but seeing how many people responded and then reading some literature about it, it does not seem crazy at all. Actually, It seem like a resort to take to try and be HEALTHY.

I have a few questions to those who have fasted.

  1. So you’re fasting, it’s the first or second day… HOW THE HELL DO YOU SLEEP!? Like, I know when I skip a meal, and I try to sleep my stomach is like “ugh.” Advice would be great.
  2. Can you take ANY medications during this period? Even Natural (quercetin)?
  3. What about “Alternate-day fasting”? One day fast, next day eat double, fast again, eat again, etc. Thoughts?
  4. How do you live your daily life? I’m a college student, and it’s hard to study when I’m ‘starving’ because I feel I ain’t got no energy.

This has really sparked my interest now.

Yaeatchickensowhat,

When I talk about fasting, I am talking about going away to a clinic that does this sort of thing. It is medically supervised. I would not recommend under any circumstances trying to do this on your own. Not to be negative, but most likely you would fail, and maybe damage yourself even more. This is serious business here. When you go to fast, you have to stop your life right where it is to go do it. Everything has to go on PAUSE, otherwise, forget it. You have to leave everything behind; work, errands, everything. It is a very intense experience but very powerful and very cleansing. You could not do this and go to school at the same time!

Insomnia does hit the first couple of days but guess what? You have nothing to do the whole time you are there so it doesn’t matter if you’re up all night, you’ll just pass out during the day when your body is tired. It will eventually catch up with itself. More importantly than the fast though, is what you do after the fast. Diet and lifestyle are KEY. You cannot fast and then go to McDonalds to eat. You would most likely end up in the hospital. Believe me, it’s happened before. I plan on staying on a 100% raw food diet afterwords. I want to try and stay raw for 6 months or so. This is the hardest part, but it is also when all of the healing occurs. You are what you eat.

fasting clinics are expensive though , some cost as much as a hotel which is not surprising since you have doctors supervision

if i ever did something like this i would not go to a clinic i’d just go out into the forest for a couple of weeks

LOL. You’d be going siddhartha on our asses.

Yeah, I don’t know–it can be pretty dangerous.

Thanks for the info. let us know how it goes.

lol… fasting is not that dangerous… RESEARCH!!! ive done it a few times… plus millions of muslims do it every year!

sure it can be dangerous , if you suffer from diabetes or get hypoglycemic attacks

fasting is meant to be a cleanser so people may stop taking drugs whilst they fast which may cause them serious damage if they need that medication to function healthily

i tried water fasting and lasted about 2 days but then i started getting heart palpitations (i dont use any medications) so i had to stop.this shows i cannot handle low blood sugar well even though i am not diabetic or anything.

I think that You shouldnt fast if ur quite a weak person… Im not fat but i can go for a day or two withoud food altogether and im fine…

plus… when u water fast for the first 3 days… u will feel very hungry… after that hunger goes away… RESEARCH>>>>>

yes , the hunger goes away when the liver is exhausted of glygocen reserves…i know

i just got all my blood tests back and they were all normal and this was a comprehensive selection , RBC , WBC , cortisol , calcium , thyroid and a heap of others ; all normal

i am thinking of giving fasting another try but will be using wheatgrass juice so i dont get heart palpitations again hopefully
