Can’t find any info about this. Where exactly is 5ar2 in the body? I know there are studies on this.
Thats a good post Oscar. This is one of my biggest areas on interest in all of this. The 5ar type 3 and just how bad finasteride may have affected it. This could end up being a big part of understanding all of this better.
I wonder if awor has done any investigation into the type 3 enzyme as finasteride does also inhibit it.
Mew or Awor any comment on this?
It scares me how present 5ar3 is in the brain, and how little I have ever heard of it compared to type 1 and type 2.
Afaik, it was only recently discovered that 5ar3 even existed.

Um no, the reason for that is they did not invent durastride and thus don’t have the patent to produce it. Durastride is made by glaxo smith kline. Merck reps have been quoted as saying they didn’t think DHT was needed for normal adult male function. See SAs signature on this site.
The fact that Merck scientists claimed dht has no significant role in the adult male should be enough to show they are not competent to be making drugs and that they are either 1. liars or 2. completely stupid. Both should be enough to put them under. It is sad how things work, it just makes no sense.
True… I remember Propecia commericals calling DHT (paraphrasing) “this pesky little molecule that causes MPB”. This after the trials Bosely himself called highly alarming. Pretty amazing to me still, even after all this time, a company could so evil. Of course we all know the lawsuits won’t amount to anything but a big pay day for lawyers and those who steered them there. Hope I’m proved wrong but don’t see it happening.
They have to pull the drug off the market. That is the only way you can actually hurt merck and get some sort of justice for their awful crimes. Sadly, I see no jail time for these scum bags at merck, which is a true shame … they have committed crimes against humanity in my opinion. They are pure evil. Again, the drug must be pulled from the market forever so merck can stop profiting from this poison and so they cannot hurt anymore innocent people.

DHT has been shown to be the most potent adrogen since at lastest the 1960’s.
Here’s another whopper: “Finasteride is not an anti-androgen, and it has no affinity for the androgen receptor. Thus, it does not block the beneficial and necessary physiological roles of testosterone when administered to men.”
Of course Lennon, they won’t do any jail time. They probably won’t even have to spend that much money. Hell their general counsel will prolly get a sweet bonus this year. In China maybe they would be executed if they messed up enough people with their drugs.
I would love to see that… All of Mercks top brass in line waiting to get a 7.62 to the head. Even that’s still too good for them cuz its a quick death.
After what I been through and all the peoples lives ruined… I don’t think I could feel bad for their families even if they did that to them… But they never will… Just something to daydream about for the next few decades while I’m stuck like this.
Well, that’s technically correct, but you can’t take it that simply, yes. Some of the roles of testosterone realize through dihydrotestosterone. But finasteride as a testosterone analog won’t block the other million things it does in the body, but only this small 5ar2 thing. But still, this is why it’s so bad. Many of the people say “no” to steroids, but they don’t see that finasteride is a steroid too and steroids alter the body very much and they are the treatment option of last choice mostly. Steroids are membrane-soluble and hit straight into the DNA.
