blood test - way

Wow… this is extremely high!! Perhaps it is having a negative feedback effect on the HTPA and surpressing your T?

You could try to “bring it down” with a DHT inhibitor like Saw Palmetto, but since DHT inhibition is what got us into this mess in the first place, dunno if that’s such a good idea.

Also elevated… have you discussed with endo what the significance of this is, or how to lower it?

You could be hypothyroid. Would investigate this further as well.

Sorry I don’t have any more answers.

yes… but high cholesterol and progesterone aren’t a sympton of adrenal fatigue?

Hi guys, I want show you my last exams…
as you can see, now also my free t is under the range (my total t was under the range since few month ago)…
i’m afraid about my condition because i’m not able to understand where is the problem, apparently testosterone is the problem but if you read my full story propeciahelp.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1307 you can see that when i was on trt + nolvadex my total and free t were very very high (above the range) and i felt nothing at all… neither a little change…(only more energy and muscle power)
so i really need your help to make some hypothesis, i’m still making worse day by day since year 2003…and now i’m in a catastrophic situation…
thanks…

here the values:
12/6/2008
Cholesterol: 222 mg/dL --------------(125 - 200)
Estradiol: 26 pg/mL -------------------(12 - 41)
FSH: 2.3 mU/mL -------------------------(1.4 - 18.1)
LH: 2.6 mU/mL -------------------------(1.7 - 8.6)
Testosterone: 2.54 ng/mL ---------------(2.80 - 8.00)
Free Testosterone: 8.1 pg/mL -----------------------------(8.69 - 54.69)
Progesterone: 1.20 ng/mL ---------------(0.28 - 1.22)
Prolactin: 7.6 ng/mL ------------------(2.1 - 17.7)
Cortisol 201 ng/mL --------------------(50 - 260)
Diidrotestosterone (dht) 261 pg/mL -----------------------(155 - 533)
ACTH 21 pg/mL ---------------------------------------------------------(9 - 52)

The protocol you were on for TRT was completely inadequate… 250mg 1x per month… some guys get that every 7-14 days under competent endos. Plus, it can sometimes take a few months for the effects of TRT to really be felt in terms of libido coming back. So you don’t REALLY know wether it is a T issue yet because you have yet to be put on a proper protocol.

As for Nolvadex, if you took that concurrently with the TRT then it might’ve interfered with it.

Anyway, the point is – at this stage your T levels are below range and likely should be treated REGARDLESS. Maybe consider clomid, or hCG. Otherwise Androgel or T shots for TRT… it’s not healthy to be hypogonadal, and your weight (excess fat) and cholesterol issues likely stem from this.

Consider finding another Endo (or an Anti-Aging doctor), or flying to the USA to see the other docs. There are resources on this forum/links to websites to find such doctors worldwide, and some docs listed that are in Europe you might also want to consider giving a call.

Keep us posted.

mew i agree with you about the fact that my TRT protocol was completely inadequate… but i would ask you why you say that “it can sometimes take a few months for the effects of TRT to really be felt in terms of libido coming back”… what should happen in this months? a sort of reactivation of the receptors?

if is true that few months with high testosterone are required for feel some improvements … why some of us feel better in the morning? (it’s only a short and temporary high level of t)
why a lot of us feel better after a good workout at the gym? (gym boosts t level)
why someone (me) felt better while on broccoli treatment? (that produces an immediate displacement of the estradiol/testosterone ratio in favor of the testo)

thanks

What do you mean “she suggests they are not too low…” something like that you’ve said in your other post…

These look very far off, and low, if you ask me. I am sorry but it seems like you need some serious PCT also… No?? :unamused:

T:E ratio kid… Isn’t it supposed to be all about that.

yes, i also think i need a pct (in fact i’ve ordered on the internet arimidex and nolvadex, the second isn’t arrived yet). My steroidogenesis chain is good, all the values are in range, except for testosterone that is the last elements of the chain… so the only way is act directly on the testosterone but… look at my blood tests when i was on trt: very very high t and no feeling in penis… so why focus on testosterone levels if with high t i feel no improvements?
with nolvadex i’ll try a pct (becuse a low level of t is not good independently) but i don’t expect sexual improvements …

she deduced that the key of the problem should be somewhere else, maybe in receptors (neurological receptors first an perhaps also androgen receptors)…
someone here on the forum, in the last days, wrote that with high t and low t the situation (in his case) didn’t changed… so is for me… so i think we should overreach the hormones and find the root of the problem somewhere else (we are looking for something affecting the hormones)…

i’m investing in blood tests…

You haven’t tested for RT3. Without it, nothing can be said about your thyroid values.

Low free T, high E2. There seems to be a problem here.

You have tested cortisol with a serum blood test. This measures the TOTAL cortisol. Therefore, we don’t know anything about your free cortisol, which is usually measured with a saliva test. There are people (e.g. me) who tested very very different values of serum cortisol and saliva cortisol in the same day. Nevertheless, your progesterone is not extremely low, which suggests that cortisol is not extremely low either.

m81 thanks for ur advices… i will test RT3 next time. I tried to revert my low T, hig E2 with nolvadex amd arimidex, but with no results…

I really wish some of the guys that actually recovered would do a thorough blood test. Not for the benefit of themselves, but for us guys. I’m willing to bet their Free Testosterone numbers improved.

I am so tired of hearing all of the doctors repeat the same script that free testosterone isn’t an important indicator; and that being at the bottom of the range for free T, regardless of age is perfectly fine. They are incapable of thinking outside of the box. Your result isn’t even in the range. Mine was like this for a while and now is just barely in the range. How long have you been of of the poison for?

hi bostonusa, i completely agree with you… no words to describe how bad can be some doctors. i have been off the drug almost 8 years now…
