I cant say if we are tiny minorty unless we can diagnose. Its clear to we have so many sufferers who dont know this site or cant speak even simple english or dont know whats going on their body. Nontheless i know at least 10 pfs victims who dont join forum. We know merck make profit 400 million dollar per year thanks to propecia, so with a simple calculation 300k-350k people use finasteride right now. If we say %2 get side effects (infact it is lie) then we have at least 6-7k pfs sufferers.

But dont forget its not a infectious disease which infect air, sea or blood. Its directly due to finasteride, so dont expect 100 billion victims at short or long term.

Don’t forget those who took Proscar or generic drugs, and other drugs/supplements that inhibit 5AR, like accutane and saw palmetto. I would say there’s a LOT more people than that. Millions at least.

Yes, this is a vital point which is important to how this situation progresses in future.

It would be interesting, though horrific, to see what happens if Propecia was withdrawn or barred for use in hairloss. All of a sudden a sizeable number of men might find themselves with PFS. All hell would break loose.

I was on propecia for ten years and did not have any side effects until I went off the drug. I think if propecia is withdrawn from the market, the increase in the number of pfs sufferers will be mind blowing. I do not think at all that we are just a tiny minority.

I never lost am erections and nocturnals… Even after I crashed I was still having them…Now on TRT I still have them.And I still have sex dreams every now and then…What do u think this means???

Praying to heal, your constant spamming of threads with the same information over and over, and asking people to tell you if you have PFS or not etc, is getting annoying. Not only that, it is suspected you have created a new account since a previous account (TRYINGTORECOVER) was banned for similar behaviour.

Pls change your usage of the forum. Do not spam endlessly and ask redundant questions over and over. This will be the only warning.

In addition to the profit motive, I am sure that the FDA and Merck know that most people don’t get full blown PFS until they go off propecia and this is one of the reasons it is still on the market.

I think one reason it is still on the market is because it takes care of bph… I think once these studies they will prolly take it off the market…Maybe, maybe not

I wonder how many of the prescribed finasteride users have these symptoms but unable to make the connection. I’m having major cognitive issue, I didn’t even know cognition deficient was a side effect until I stumble on Propeciahelp. Propecia help educated so much, I’m thankful.

I hate to say, but in my opinion, we ARE a tiny minority.

For what it’s worth, I already looked up the number of hits this site gets, and (correct me someone if I’m wrong), but it was something like 1000 clics a day. It may seem like alot, but it’s 1 clic every minute and a half. Given the number of people that use all kinds of Finasteride products, it’s actually really below what I thought! … in comparison, there’s a forum about wine in Quebec (potential market of 7 million people - who really really like wine!) that gets alot more hits than this one, accessible to worldwide users. Moreover, on average, there seems to be about 1 new member per day. Just this morning, I posted a new topic at 10:41. Almost 4 hours later, there has been a total of 9 views !

Our chances were far better of winning the lottery VS getting PFS!

Moreover, if there were so many people affected, PFS would have been recognized as such much earlier in time.

And finally, as some have pointed out, among the 1000 clics per day, the vast majority seems to be returning users (members that connect almost daily).

If I summarize, I think the chances of being significantly impacted by side-effects are low, but the consequences of the ones that do are absolutely devastating and life altering.

I do not think our chances of getting PFS were worse than 45 million to 1 which are the odds of many lotteries.

The problem is there are many levels of PFS. There are guys out there who might just not feel right after taking finasteride but not realize what is going on. There are even guys who had it really bad, didn’t realize what was going on, killed themselves and their families discovered afterwards what was occurring.

I say that odds of getting it are more than 1 in 1000 but it there are various degrees to which one can get PFS.

I think that for a lot of people only quitting the drug will trigger pfs. A large majority of propecia users probably take the drug for several years without ever stopping and continue to take the drug without stopping. If all of the sudden propecia ran out of stock or if there was a shortage for whatever reason, I think you would see a pfs outbreak.

I agree. It also makes me wonder if stopping and starting fin has an impact on chances of developing PFS. For my part, I didn’t mind skipping a few days here and there, stupidly thinking that all that was at play was my hair! I would be very curious to see where I would be today if I had never skipped a day…
